What an amazing class!! I learned so much in that short time, things that I could never get out of a book or a video. Besides being an awesome Italian Chef, Gianluca Deiana is a master at teaching concepts and technique. He even told us how to look for the best, authentic ingredients, like Italian Olive Oil with DOP on the label. To top all this off, he was incredibly engaging, funny, and generous with his time. This was the 5th class we've taken with Sandro. In his previous classes, we made dumplings, pasta, sushi, and ramen, and now we can add tacos. These tacos were OUT OF THIS WORLD. Probably the best tacos I have EVER eaten. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, we used fresh ingredients, and we even made our own soft taco shell. This class is great for individuals, couples, friends, and even large groups. Sandro is extremely nice, has a great aura about him, knowledgeable, and all around has great energy. My friend and I love taking his classes and we've made some great meals with him, all of which come with a recipe that is emailed to you at the end of the class. I highly recommend taking Sandro's class and we can't wait for our class #6. read more

My partner and I had so much fun with this class! We each made a salmon & mango roll and a California roll, and watched a demo on how to make hand rolls. I would recommend coming a bit hungry--we were quite full by the end of the class. Chef Lex's instructions were wonderful, and we found both Chef Lex and his sous chef very attentive and happy to help if we needed it. CocuSocial asked for my review right after we took the Thai Curry class. I was happy to oblige with a very good review. However, we were never given the full recipe of either the cucumber salad or the Thai red curry dish. I asked for the complete recipe a few times. The recipe we got used pre-made red curry paste. Chef Scott said it was terrible NOT to make our red curry paste from scratch( which we did in the class) . PLUS, in my original review, I said it was a very expensive evening due in part to the class being held in a fine wine bar. We had 2 rounds, and although the wine was nice, it was really expensive. CocuSocial cut all that stuff out of my review. That's not fair. Would I take another class? Probs not. read more

So disappointed with the customer service of this business. Our group of 10 was excited to attend a mixology class in midtown on 3/21 at 7pm. At approximately 2 pm I received an email stating that our class was canceled and we were welcome to reschedule the following week. No personal phone call. No compensation for inconvenience. I had people come from out of town and some already waiting in Manhattan for this 60th surprise celebration. When I finally reached someone after phone calls to the host restaurant she apologized and said since I was so upset we could book the same class at no discount and then receive a discount of 6.50 off if we booked another. So I had to spend MORE money with an unreliable company in order for them to take 6.50 off? Unbelievable and inconsiderate. read more

Where do I start to unpack this experience.... I enjoyed the class as a whole. The chef was informative and the class was engaging but it didn't feel authentic. I didn't feel like it was traditional in a sense of flavors, seasoning, and felt like it was a watered-down experience. Granted, I'm not saying a Chinese Dumpling Making class has to be lead by someone Chinese but it makes the most sense. If you're going to teach me how to make Jamaican jerk chicken, I'd hope someone with a West Indian/Jamaican/Caribbean background would be the most experienced and authentic teacher, whether they have an accredited chefs certification or not! Also, if the chef were immersed in Asian culture and this was a passed down recipe that was original and authentic, I don't care who teaches the class. It just didn't meet my expectations. If I'm being 100% honest. We seasoned the ground chicken mix and the vegetable dumpling fillings with 1 small packet of salt and pepper each! What!? That was all! Outside of some sesame oil for the tofu-vegetable fillings. It just left me underwhelmed and wanting more. What I loved! 1. They made everyone sanitize before signing in. Awesome! What I didn't love! 1. But for a cooking class everyone should be required to wash their hands. Corona Virus or not, we are dealing with dough, raw meat and other extremely hands-on, shared food experiences, with strangers! What I loved! 2. They were aware of a vegetarian and made sure her food was cooked first before everyone else steamed their dumplings. What I didn't love! 2. The instructor couldn't guarantee the frying oil would be sufficient for cooking the vegetarian dumplings so her only option was the steamer. Granted, not the chefs fault, but also a bit disappointing. I've worked in restaurants and there should Always be a designated oil for vegan/vegetable items. Had a really fun date night with chef Jerry R. It was for the Italian date night at the Hyatt house in Chelsea. We were a few minutes late but he had a grace period of 10-15 minutes. It's located on the second floor and all the tables were spread out. It was about 26 people and each pair had their own burner. We utilized the hotels oven to toast the bread otherwise everything else was done on the burner. All the tools and food portions were provided. The only thing we brought was our own wine. Chef Jerry did a great job teaching us these super easy recipes. He went around making sure everyone knew what they were doing. He also gave us some little tips on how to make our own glazed balsamic. We made bruschetta, garlic string beans and chicken Marsala. It was plenty of food for two as we didn't need to get food afterwards. read more

Another great class with Chef Jerry - delicious food, good location with plenty of room to work, and, as always, the best instruction and host. As anyone who's gotten used to apartment kitchens can tell you, any chance you can use a 10k BTU burner and pastry torch is exciting. The way Jerry teaches combines years of experience with a sense of humor. This was our second time coming to one of his classes, and we can't wait until our next one. Italian Date Night was a perfect class for a Saturday evening, and the Tapas class was a fun afternoon date. The amount of prep work done before you arrive is just enough to make the whole recipe go smoothly, while still having you do a lot of interesting and skill-building tasks - comfortable and fun for beginners and experienced home cooks alike. teacher was so kind. he took his time to make sure everyone understood directions and was involved in the class. we all had so much fun, you could just tell from the laughter that everyone was engaged. i would definitely take his course again. the papya salad was so easy and tasted great! one small feedback would be for pad see ew with tofu -- I would suggest telling students to cook the tofu *before* you cook the egg. we started with the eggs and since the tofu took so long to cook, the eggs overcooked. anyway, excellent friendly teacher, yummy dishes, and conveniently located class. 5 stars! read more
