After our dishwasher died a slow, lingering, ultimately smoky death, the mister wanted to get a…read morenicer, quieter replacement. After picking out the one that best met his stringent requirements, he called around and found only a few places that carried it, and only one that did their own installation: Central Appliance. He purchased and set up the delivery and installation appointment over the phone, and was in contact via email after Hurricane Sandy delayed the delivery. The delivery and installation went very smoothly, with one exception: a small rock got caught from our driveway in the bottom of the dishwasher while bringing it upstairs, and scratched our tile floor. The installer was very apologetic and said we should contact Central Appliance directly, which we did, and Merry (manager? Owner? Person in charge that had handled the entire transaction) had a tile company come out and fix it up promptly. All in all we were extremely satisfied--we never had to step foot outside!--and would recommend Central Appliance to anyone in the area looking for a trustworthy, experienced dealer. By the way, Merry told the mister that Central Appliance is the only authorized Bosch dealer in the area, and that the other company who said they "had a guy" to put in the dishwasher used CA as their contractor for Bosch repairs. So they appear to really be the experts.

So I called Dompier Electric on a Sunday when we failed. Their answering service said they would leave a message and they would return my call on Monday. Since I'd been living with the problem already that sounded good to me. On Monday I decided to make sure my message got through. I discovered that after giving them my payment information the repairman was on his way. Within 30/45 minutes the serviceman was here and within a half hour the problem was solved. I could not recommend Dompier Electric because I found them to be very unreliable. I had them come…read moreout to give me an estimate on a installing a fuse box and a switch for a generator. They said they would run some numbers and send an estimate. I called three times over the course of a month and a half. Each time the owner told me he was putting the estimate in the mail that day. The estimate never arrived. This was a fairly big job too. If their attention to detail and customer service is that bad I would not chance their work results not being just as poor.

I am a repeat customer, having bought a wood stove and having had shades installed at my house. Unfortunately, while everyone I spoke with was very friendly, I received no action. When I called, everyone with whom I spoke assured me that they had all of my information and that I would receive some type of communication - nothing. Finally, two months after my initial request, a very nice person reached out. We arranged a time for her to come and measure my windows. She wrote up a detailed agreement, and I promptly paid half. That was in early June. She did explain that they had to order the custom shades. Since then - nothing. When I emailed her and her supervisor asking for a simp0le update last week, I thought that I might hear something - silence. Perhaps Friends of the Sun is overwhelmed with business and so profitable that they do not need to worry about communicating with customers but, to me, this is poor business. They would not even look at my donations and were more concerned with going on break to smoke weed. I could tell they were doing that because I could smell coming from their car after a very nice man in his twenties took over the situation. I could care less that they were smoking weed but the rudeness was uncalled for. The young man took almost all of my donations and explained why they could not take others. The garden/greenhouse area is large with a good selection. Prices area fair on most items. If you're buying name brand stuff, it's often at retail. But, they will have sales and some items are discounted well if your timing is right. If you need to get something from the loading area, they'll load it or help you load it if needed. I explained that the same item was much cheaper elsewhere but would love to buy it here. The girl retorts, "well, uh, go there then." Followed by rolling her eyes and walking off. For any reason, or any future need, I will not be returning here.
