Like Lilly, I had the pleasure of being introduced to Cocoa & Fig at the yelp event and everything that they served up was very, very, good. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of finely executed, and delicious, baked goods and desserts with a bit of style. Nothing was overly sweet and everything had the right amount of "rich" going on in each sample... the tiramisu and key lime cups... the tarts... the red velvet cupcakes... and everthing else... excellent to the one. We hired Cocoa & Fig to cater desserts at our wedding. We had a series of mini desserts and a small cake. The desserts were delivered and set up by Cocoa & Fig staff in a beautiful spread. The cake design perfectly matched the photo we sent in and the strawberry champagne flavor was one of the best tasting cakes we ever had. The mini desserts were a huge hit at the wedding. We ordered the recommended amount based on the amount of people we had at the wedding and the entire table was cleared out by the end of the night which shows how much people enjoyed them. They were very easy to work with and accommodating when our wedding had to be rescheduled during Covid. We would highly recommend! read more

I was lucky enough to get to sample some of Cocoa & Fig's fancy little sweets at the last Yelp elite event. The chocolate bouchons were so cute and heavenly. I would love to have a French themed dinner party and serve these little cork shaped French brownies dusted with powdered sugar at the end. I also tried the layered desserts in shot glasses including key lime pie and tiramisu. They did not disappoint. According to their website they cater weddings and corporate functions all the way down to a child's baptism or birthday party. I'm not usually big on cake, but the flavors on their website sound amazing. If anyone wants to surprise me...my birthday is in February and I'll take the spicy carrot cake with lemon cream cheese frosting. read more

Would not recommend this company at all. I tried to buy desserts for my wife's birthday. The store in Shakopee is by appointment only. I called, but the recording says you cannot leave a message. So I emailed over a month ago and never got a response. Then I found out today this location got $192,897 in government bail out money. For my daughter's bridal shower, we ordered cupcakes and mousse! They were both flavorless!! I can't tell you how disappointed I was to hear the negative comments regarding the taste. A friend bought some from Costco and they were a 10! The price was outrageous and it cost $50.00 to have them delivered. I will NEVER purchase from them again and will tell others the same!! Oh how I love these people. I meet them at an Elite event a few years ago and soon became a follower picking up their treats at the farmers markets each week. So when I got engaged and needed to pick a baker they were the first people I called. A wedding taste appointment will cost you $25. (They do this because none of their products are frozen, everything is fresh for you to try) Meet with Joe at their catering location, private room, cute set-up. My parents were in town and I was able to bring them for the meeting (4 people total). We started out with 4 or 5 cupcakes. This way we could taste lots of cake flavor combinations, but they have way way more for you to choose from. Cocoa & Fig will do their version of "sheet cakes" which they call kitchen cakes. Kitchen cakes are 3 layers with no decorations. Great for a budget or if your cake is to be served with a meal (which is the way we decided to go). So the guest will get a lovely 3 layer confection that looks like it was just sliced out of any big-ol-cake. We are also doing a small 2-3 tier cutting cake. I brought in inspiration photos and told Joe that this is what he does and to run with it. He will sketch up ideas for any custom decorations or styles. Because we were also interested in desserts by the dozen for other wedding events Joe brought us a small platter of minis to try. (macaroons, desert shooters, mini tarts/ pies and cake pops!) Here is how good everything is: Upon seeing the macaroons my mom and i glance at each other and under our breath say we dont really like those. We each taste 1/2 of a cookie, eyebrows raise, and we consume all samples! I never knew how good a French Macaroon could be until I understood how it should taste. *My Fiance will often bribe me with a dozen macaroons from their Nicolette retail local.* We liked it all so much that in the end we ordered a dessert buffet for the groom's dinner, cutting cake in 2 flavors for 250 guests and a 3 tier cutting cake decorated with my inspirations. I couldn't be happier with the experience and quality. Joe & Laurie are great and run a wonderful business, I'm really looking forward to my wedding cake! read more

I attended a bridal shower over the weekend which featured cupcakes from Cocoa and Fig. The bride cannot eat gluten and it was so wonderful to enjoy sweets with her of regular and gluten free varieties. Everyone enjoyed their choice, but three days later, I can't stop thinking about the **key lime cupcake** I had. It was amazing, like something you'd see on Cupcake Wars. It had everything! I lovely graham cracker crust, a true cupcake center, was filled with key lime pie type filling in the center, then frosted and garnished with lime zest. Go there. Have the key lime cupcake. I had the pleasure to experience the deliciousness that is Cocoa & Fig at a catered Christmas party. By far my favorite was the Smoked Salmon. Crunchy Coconut Shrimp, Roast Beef on Crostini, Thai Chicken Skewers were equally tasty. The Chocolate and Key Lime Pie desserts were served in mini shot glasses, a great presentation! Lauren (the dessert coordinator) & the staff at Cocoa & Fig did a great job with the wedding cake that I ordered. I was unable to attend a wedding, but wanted to purchase the cake as a gift - despite my being in California, Lauren kept me in the loop, and the staff worked quickly to create a beautiful cake w/ some great personal touches that the bride was very happy with. They were very friendly, helpful, and professional, and helped with everything from the design of the cake to coordinating the delivery w/ their courier. I use cocoa and fig for my daughter's one month and 1st bday. All I can say is, WOW!! They did such an amazing job for my daughters 1st bday cake. All I had to do was send them pictures of what I had in mind and choose the colors. And Yes, I did everything over email. My cake was so beautifully done. Every detailed work on the cake was perfect. It shows how talented they are just by looking at their cakes. I also order 2 macaron towers, Fruit tarts, strawberries, lollipop cake and tiramisu. I'm so glad my wonderful florist recommended this place to me. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for the perfect fondant cake and please do delivery. I don't seek out sweets... not something I crave but Cocoa Fig has changed my mind. I had a chance to try their cupcakes..the cake lollipops and a granola that they also carry. I really was blown away...the flavor and texture of everything was amazing and mouth watering. I would highly recommend. They have me totally spoiled and must now find out which farmers market they are at. Yum is all i can say. Very unique but familiar at the same time. Cocoa & Fig did the desserts for my daughter's wedding. They were great to work with. The tasting session was very helpful in deciding what to order. They provided everything needed to arrange the miniature desserts attractively at the reception and handled the set-up and pick up. Most important, the desserts were delish! If I had to do again, I would order fewer miniature tarts and fruit pies. They didn't seem to be as popular as other options. read more
