College Station brought a new spot to eat and since I was back in town for some business, decided to give it a try for dinner. First off, I really enjoyed the customer service. I always appreciate when the staff is patient with me while I decide what I want to eat for the first time lol. The aesthetic was also just right, not too much not too little. I love plants and was obsessed with how there were a multitude of beautiful plants in the building. My friend and I both got the 'Sweet & Spicy' shrimp plate. Portions were nice and I like the combination of salad, rice, and shrimp - it felt very balanced. Taste wise - was pretty good I'd give it a 7.5/10. Shortly into the meal I started thinking that maybe I should've gotten the combo of the different shrimp flavors just to see what the other ones were like. This is likely what I would do next time. My friend opted to add six extra pieces of shrimp which I would also recommend because they give you a heft amount of rice. Pricing was pretty standard also. This was my first time visiting Coco Shrimp! This is a great concept for those that like shrimp. There are many different styles of shrimp from garlic, to lemon, to shrimp tacos. Inside the store is smaller but there is still table and chairs and small booth seating. The ambiance is nice for a little date night or just a good place to get food. The lights are dimmer around dinner time. The cashiers at the front are very attentive and I really appreciate how friendly they are. One cashier in particular was very accommodating and helped me with my ordering!! Garlic shrimp: It comes with a lotttt of rice if you get the salad on the side. I like that you are able to get the salad on the side as I am particular about warm lettuce. The garlic shrimp is VERY BUTTERY. There is a lot of butter on the rice and shrimp so be warned if you don't like butter. I wish there was more shrimp to rice ratio but overall it tasted pretty good! read more

The coconut shrimp and lemon herb shrimp were by far my favorites and they tasted very tender and juicy! I wasn't hungry enough for the plate with rice, salad, and shrimp, so I ordered the Coco Shrimp tacos with avocado (a $1 up charge). The tortillas were perfect and soft. The avocado made the tacos a little too full and more difficult to eat. The shrimp tacos hit every flavor note. The sweet chili sauce was a nice touch. My table was dirty with some sauce on it. I had heard great things about Coco Shrimp, so I was excited to try it. I ordered my food through Uber Eats and picked it up in-store. The interior is very nice, and I only waited a few minutes before a worker picked me out in line and asked if I was picking up an order. I chose to have my salads packed separately from my rice and shrimp, so I wasn't able to select my dressing online. I explained this to the worker, and he happily got me two poppyseed dressings (delicious!). I didn't eat in-store, but one thing I really appreciated about the venue was the 15-minute curbside parking spots, so you don't have to risk parking in paid spots. I deducted stars because the dressings that come with the salads aren't enough to coat the whole salad, and the shrimp-to-rice ratio is really off. There's a lot of rice and very little shrimp, and of course, there's an upcharge if you want extra of either. Other than that, I really enjoyed my meal! I got the butter garlic shrimp plate with poppyseed dressing for my salads. I would return, but I don't see it as something I'll crave. read more

The shrimp tacos were fantastic. A bit too sweet for me so I most likely wouldn't go back. I wish there was a HOT chili sauce to go with them. They are lightly fried in an Asian type chili sauce. I ordered avacado on them and I received a generous portion of avocado. The price is fantastic as well. I also ordered the spicy shrimp plate and it's definite pass for me. I'm not a big rice eater and the salad, dressing and shrimp sauce was Nothing compared to the tacos. The service was great and we were properly greeted and helped when we engaged with the cashier. Okay this place is fire!!! My wife and I were in the area and wanted to try something different. I recommend getting the "sampler" so you can try multiple flavors. Coco Shrimp is a new restaurant in Century Square. It's modeled after the shrimp trucks found on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. I lived in Hawaii for 11 years and frequently dined at the shrimp trucks on the North Shore (Haleiwa and Kahuku). Coco Shrimp has got it right! I ordered the shrimp sampler with coconut shrimp, spicy shrimp and garlic shrimp for $12.95. The shrimp was super fresh and cooked and seasoned to perfection. The meal is served in a cardboard box just like they do in Hawaii. The 7 shrimp were accompanied by warm white rice that was wonderfully seasoned with herbs and sea salt and a fresh salad with two kinds of dressing (creamy ginger and poppyseed). I added grilled pineapple to the salad which was a great addition. The restaurant features a large indoor and outdoor dining areas with wooden tables equipped with a roll of paper towels at each table. There is definitely a Hawaiian vibe with a decor of surf boards, videos of Hawaii and pleasant Hawaiian music playing. The staff were very knowledgeable of the menu and offered excellent suggestions to "first timers". The owner made the rounds to greet customers, answer questions and give suggestions as well. I had a strawberry lemonade which was good and if you save the cup and bring it back you will get your drink for $0.99 with free refills. The restaurant is very clean. The only drawback is you have to pay for parking in Century Square. Coco Shrimp is closed on Sundays when parking is free. They also serve shrimp tacos and mochi ice cream that I'll have to try on a future visit. I loved my first visit to Coco Shrimp and I will definitely be back! read more
