Best shrimp I've ever had.Coconut my favorite but they are all great! Get the sampler.... you'll not be sorry! Parking is allowed, just look for the sign on the curb in front of store, they just want you to register......you'll be fine. read more

Let's jump right in and get to it. To start, Coco Shrimp originated in the downtown DFW area by Isaac and Lauren Hadley along with some family members. They loved the food of Oahu, which I fully agree, is flavorful and fantastic. and I'm glad to see they're making their way south *come to Houston next?!* Location & Parking - 3.5* (5* if walking) I always like making a visiting to CS since my days living here. What I don't love is the level of change for the worse as real estate developers (in this case a PPP b/w Midway and the University) continue to bleed college kids, or their parents, for more money. So what am I ranting about as it pertains to Coco Shrimp? The parking sitch! This gem of a food spot is located in Century Square, which in itself is excellent for walking to if you're a student on campus or nearby resident. It's not so great for locals or anyone who has to drive here. The spaces are pay to park all around this area. Now, it is gratis for the first hour if you register in the ParkMobile app, and that is only good once per day. For Coco Shrimp that's plenty of time to dine and enjoy a quick catch up with friends, but no hanging around unless you want to take your chances with what are surely underpaid parking attendants just doing their jobs for the RE overlords. For reference, 1-2 hours it is $3.00, for 2-3 hours it is $4.00. Check the Century Square website, or the parking app, for the latest pricing. There is a solution to this, but I'll end this rant here. So off the bat, the whole pay to park just grinds my gears as an old timer who remembers a much different Aggieland. I'll go yell at a cloud now. Interior / Vibe - 5* Once you handle your parking situation it's all on the up from here. The interior layout, character, and vibe is solid. It definitely has the island life and chill vibe you get with little spots on the island. They have plenty of seating to meet a group of friends and they are quick to greet you. All of the interior was very clean and well kept. It shows the workers take pride and enjoy it here. Food - 5* The concept is simple, which is what makes it genius. They offer primarily rice and salad with your choice of shrimp options: spicy, sweet & spicy, butter garlic, lemon herb, or a sampler. Breaded/fried or grilled only for the options. I inhaled my entire meal, it was fantastic and I would easily eat here frequently if given the chance. The taste of Hawaiian island life is here and it's delicious. Service - 5* It's counter style ordering here and they do their best to locate you when your order is ready. They are quick to greet and they are really helpful in guiding you through the menu options. I love the sustainability aspect of providing a souvenir style cup that makes for a great cup at the house but also a discounted refill cup when you return. Really solid on their part. Cost / Pricing - 4.5* I say it all the time, this is subjective. I find it to be good value. Is it the same cost as a food truck in Hawaii that will get ya a meal for $5-10 bucks? No, is it a solid portion of fresh rice and salad, shrimp, and quality to bring it and satisfy a normal appetite? Absolutely. I think it's a fair balance. Overall - 4.5* I'm rounding up here since we can't score half ratings. I am tempted to knock it to a four star given the parking, but it's not entirely in their control aside from leasing elsewhere - I'm sure they wanted to be close to campus for strategic reason. As someone who worked in the industry, knows the work it takes day in and day out, I couldn't be happier for these folks. I'd love to meet them and have very real conversation about a Houston location. There are plenty of staples to visit in the BCS area, but this place is definitely one of my faves to visit in DFW or CS when looking for a quick, fresh bite. Come check it out! read more

Coco is a nice change-of-pace spot for a lighter lunch/dinner. We took the advice of others and got the sampler platters. Think the clear winner was the original Coco Shrimp -- the butter shrimp, spicy, and sweet/spicy were all good, but were maybe trying a little too hard. Generous rice portion with the platter (enough to make this into two meals with leftovers). Great service, tasty hibiscus tea. Note that this is in Century Square, so you have to deal with that parking situation. read more

Great lunch today at coco shrimp We had 2 samplers and I love how we can customize it. Next time I'm adding stuff but it was delicious. And the decor is so cute and service was great! read more

College Station brought a new spot to eat and since I was back in town for some business, decided to give it a try for dinner. First off, I really enjoyed the customer service. I always appreciate when the staff is patient with me while I decide what I want to eat for the first time lol. The aesthetic was also just right, not too much not too little. I love plants and was obsessed with how there were a multitude of beautiful plants in the building. My friend and I both got the 'Sweet & Spicy' shrimp plate. Portions were nice and I like the combination of salad, rice, and shrimp - it felt very balanced. Taste wise - was pretty good I'd give it a 7.5/10. Shortly into the meal I started thinking that maybe I should've gotten the combo of the different shrimp flavors just to see what the other ones were like. This is likely what I would do next time. My friend opted to add six extra pieces of shrimp which I would also recommend because they give you a heft amount of rice. Pricing was pretty standard also. I think this is a good place to try if you're in the mood for a nice meal that's not too heavy and can go a long way. read more

Coco Shrimp - Sweet and Spicy - Tacos Near Me - College Station, Texas

The flavoring was excessive and the sticky rice was too sticky. I will NOT return to this cafe even though it came highly recommended. It is obviously prepackaged and the freshness is non existent. read more

They have a deal for two tacos for seven dollars on Tuesdays, which is honestly a great price and definitely worth taking advantage of. The tacos were solid overall. The coconut shrimp worked really well with the flavors and nothing felt off or overpowering. For the price, it is hard to complain at all. Everything came out quickly and there was plenty of seating, so it felt super casual and stress free. read more

First time visitor here and it was DELICIOUS! Loved it. I settled on the Coco shrimp tacos and my husband got the platter. I'm not sure how they make the flour tortillas crispy flaky and still soft at the same time but bravo! And all the flavors were yummy. Staff were so helpful and quick. Took some convincing to get my husband on board to try it out and now he's a fan. Heard they have taco tuesday promos, so will have to check that out next visit. read more

Absolutely fantastic spot! I love the walk-up and order concept... super laid back and easy. If it's your first time, the sampler meal is the move. You've got to try the coconut shrimp (so crispy and sweet), the spicy shrimp (perfect kick), and the garlic butter shrimp (super rich and flavorful). The only mistake I made was not getting extra garlic butter sauce to pour on my rice! Everything was fresh, hot, and full of flavor. It was so good. We got it to go a second time! I'll definitely be back every time I'm in town! read more

Coco Shrimp - Shrimp sampler... Added avocado, and pineapple... This was a to go order, wish I had gotten a picture when we had dinner a second time. - Tacos Near Me - College Station, Texas

This was my first time visiting Coco Shrimp! This is a great concept for those that like shrimp. There are many different styles of shrimp from garlic, to lemon, to shrimp tacos. Inside the store is smaller but there is still table and chairs and small booth seating. The ambiance is nice for a little date night or just a good place to get food. The lights are dimmer around dinner time. The cashiers at the front are very attentive and I really appreciate how friendly they are. One cashier in particular was very accommodating and helped me with my ordering!! Garlic shrimp: It comes with a lotttt of rice if you get the salad on the side. I like that you are able to get the salad on the side as I am particular about warm lettuce. The garlic shrimp is VERY BUTTERY. There is a lot of butter on the rice and shrimp so be warned if you don't like butter. I wish there was more shrimp to rice ratio but overall it tasted pretty good! read more

Although the price is daunting at first, the shrimp is very good. I ordered the shrimp sampler which blew me away. The coconut shrimp and lemon herb shrimp were by far my favorites and they tasted very tender and juicy! It may seem like not enough food but I assure you the portions are more than enough to keep you full as they give you a lot of rice! No comments on the service as I ordered takeout. The location is very close to main campus so very convenient for many in that plaza location. No comments about the ambiance of the place either. read more

Coco Shrimp - Tacos Near Me - College Station, Texas

Literally my new favorite tacos/meal in BCS. I've been really excited to try out Coco. I wasn't hungry enough for the plate with rice, salad, and shrimp, so I ordered the Coco Shrimp tacos with avocado (a $1 up charge). The tortillas were perfect and soft. The avocado made the tacos a little too full and more difficult to eat. The shrimp tacos hit every flavor note. The sweet chili sauce was a nice touch. My table was dirty with some sauce on it. I asked the owner or manager if he could wipe it down and he was super great about it. This experience was a 10/10. I can't wait to try it again. read more

I had heard great things about Coco Shrimp, so I was excited to try it. I ordered my food through Uber Eats and picked it up in-store. The interior is very nice, and I only waited a few minutes before a worker picked me out in line and asked if I was picking up an order. I chose to have my salads packed separately from my rice and shrimp, so I wasn't able to select my dressing online. I explained this to the worker, and he happily got me two poppyseed dressings (delicious!). I didn't eat in-store, but one thing I really appreciated about the venue was the 15-minute curbside parking spots, so you don't have to risk parking in paid spots. I deducted stars because the dressings that come with the salads aren't enough to coat the whole salad, and the shrimp-to-rice ratio is really off. There's a lot of rice and very little shrimp, and of course, there's an upcharge if you want extra of either. Other than that, I really enjoyed my meal! I got the butter garlic shrimp plate with poppyseed dressing for my salads. I would return, but I don't see it as something I'll crave. read more

Last Summer I travelled to all 7 locations as part of a promotion and contest. Every restaurant is a little different, but there is never any doubt you are at Coco Shrimp. The food is always great. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Beachy, Hawaain atmosphere - bright - welcoming. Added bonus - they all have a public sink somewhere in the dining area so you can wash your hands after you get Shrimp and Sauce all over them. read more

The shrimp tacos were fantastic. A bit too sweet for me so I most likely wouldn't go back. I wish there was a HOT chili sauce to go with them. They are lightly fried in an Asian type chili sauce. I ordered avacado on them and I received a generous portion of avocado. The price is fantastic as well. I also ordered the spicy shrimp plate and it's definite pass for me. I'm not a big rice eater and the salad, dressing and shrimp sauce was Nothing compared to the tacos. The service was great and we were properly greeted and helped when we engaged with the cashier. She was great. Such a cute spot too. Park for free in the garage. read more

Coco Shrimp Going to Coco Shrimp is unlike any other restaurant. You walk in and are transported to the tropical paradise, a deserted island except with incredible service and good drinks. We had lots of weird questions, but the hosts greeted us with lots of good answers. Although it was cold and windy outside, it felt like I was eating at a pier on the beach. The shrimp! So good and had more than enough paper towels on hand at every table. The rice. Iykyk. Coco Shrimp? More like Loco Shrimp! Cause it was crazy good? Get it? ..... Get it? read more

The food was flavorful. However, 14 dollars for the Coco Shrimp plate with only 6 small pieces of shrimp and about a pound of rice is very disappointing. This place should be called Coco Rice read more
