I've only been here once but I had an amazing experience! You should know that I don't really do mani/pedis often but I had such a good experience that I had to write a review. I did the fanciest pedicure they had, the Deluxe Spa Pedicure. I do a lot of sports and my feet are totally trashed from them. I did not regret it! She massaged my legs, scrubbed my callouses, and my feet were 100 times better. My only regret is that it took over an hour for the service, so I wouldn't sign up for this service if you're short on time. I decided to do the $15 add on for a manicure and then upgraded to the gel manicure since I do so many sports. I was shocked, it's been 2 weeks and there's not a chip in sight. I even went rock climbing! My nails are starting to get uncomfortably long but it seems a shame to trim then when they look so good! People ask me if they're fake because they look so good. If I lived in Chicago, I would go out of my way to go this salon, they're very conveniently located not too far from the green line, it's totally worth a trek. read more

Absolutely terrible. Even if you make an appointment you still have to wait. Nail techs rush through the service and don't care about the quality or health of your nails. They use the drill for everything and my tech even tried ripping my old polish off with cuticle cutters. I planned on getting a mani/ pedi but after the terrible pedicure I decided against the manicure. I get a basic acrylic nothing fancy, yet the powder is always placed 1 mm from the cuticle looks 3 days old the sides are not filled in. The shape is uneven and the nail bed has grooves. When I bring it to their attention it's attitude asking me what they should do?!!!Ever since the remodel their prices are ridiculous 80 for a no chip pedicure. I have looked for nail salons they all price gouge and do crappy work. If anyone can recommend a nail salon and tech I would greatly appreciate it. I got a no chip and a pedi here. Amazing. The no chip lasted for greater than 2 weeks and the pedicure was great. The prices were reasonable, the techs were good at their jobs and it was easy experience. This will likely be my new go to nail salon. Downsides include that they don't really take walk ins so you need to make an appt to be guaranteed a spot. Their color selection is also pretty old/worn so what is on the palette may not match what is in the bottle (so pay attention when you're choosing your colors). read more

I just got my nails done on Friday 6/3. My nails started cracking and chipping two days later on Sunday which is really surprising and disappointing. I have been getting dip nails for the last two years at another salon and they typically last 3-4 weeks for me. I started coming here because it was closer to my house but it really can be hit or miss here (my last set was so pretty and lasted). I also had a pedicure done and it was really rushed and not relaxing. Looked this place up on yelp. Saw that it was a new spot and It was right next to my work. So I figured I would go during my break. I did make an appointment but they did take me in earlier since I got there 30 minutes before and there was no wait which was nice because I was able to get out faster. I just got the dip removal and dip after. The two employees there were very nice. The individual that was putting cotton swabs and wrapping my nails saw that I was still trying to use my phone so she got a stylus for me to use which I really appreciated. I don't get my nails done often so I honestly don't know what the right way is or the wrong way. But this time it was definitely more rough than usual. When it was time to start cleaning my nails they use this tool to push back my skin at the end of my nail which actually really hurt for one of my fingers the nail got inflamed and was sensitive throughout the process. When removing some of the cuticles I did have a few cuts ( 3 to be exact). That stung for awhile. The whole process of the polish and how she applied the powder was excellent along with shaping she was very precise in getting a perfect shape and all my fingers look the same which never happens so that was awesome. One thing that did turn me off was the fact that she use the same brush to wipe off the powder from my fingernails to brush off all that excess stuff on the table. Seeing that I had cuts on my fingers to me that rub me the wrong way a little bit ( just a sanitary issue). Overall hospitality and attention to detail was excellent there were just a few little things they can improve on. read more

I have been coming to this salon for over 2 years now. I have always been very satisfied with the service I receive - always the deluxe no chip pedicure ($80) - and I prebook online. However, the past 3/5 times when I get there I am not given the service I scheduled and just given a basic no chip pedicure (and charged as such). I usually realize it once it is too late to say something - so I haven't said anything. Previously I would always be asked prior to them starting which service I want - but that hasn't been the case lately. It would be nice if they would check what the reservation was for prior to us sitting in the chair. They usually only take appointments, but I called in to see if they could squeeze me in the next hour and they did! Linda listened to what I needed and took her time during the entire process. They use the right kind of file for natural nails. That alone makes this an elite spot for me. Too many salons use acrylic files on my nails and they ruin them. Lori was my person. Let me preface this review with saying, I really wanted to love this spot so hard. It's under a mile from the crib, looked clean, Etc. The pedicure was well worth the price. Feet looked and felt really nice! I witnessed racist behavior from the workers. I had just moments earlier popped into the shop but didn't have an appointment, and said no problem, we can take you! Ok, great. That's cool and accommodating of them. Fast forward about half way through my pedi, an African American lady came in wanting a pedicure without an appointment, she was asking me about parking. I gave her the information and then she turned to asked if she needed an appointment for service. The worker said that you DID need an appointment. This is blatant discrimination as there were 3 nail techs sitting there and clearly they weren't busy. I have to do the right thing and be an advocate for this women since she isn't able to. It is so disheartening to see this in 2023. It's also ironic that the place is called Coco nails and there is a picture of brown skinned hands As a the Google pic that pops up!!! Pretty easy to make a same-day appointment if you're coming in during Mon-Wed. Thursday and the weekend you probably need to book ahead. It is a small space but every time I've been (which is 4 times now- I went all summer and got different styles) I have felt safe. All staff wear masks, there are partitions between seats, and the patrons were masked as well. There is also a hand washing station and hand sanitizer at each nail station. Depending on what is used yes you can smell chemicals still but if it's a nice day the door is open and I feel ventilation in there. I've had a different nail tech each time (I'm not really particular about who does my nails) and each tech has been great. I come with a picture of a style/design I'd like and every time they've been able to match the design I want. They also provide you with a bottled of water (sometimes it's sitting at the stations, sometimes you have to ask for it) and the prices are reasonable for the quality. Nails also last a while, and I've never had an issue with lifting on my acrylics and my paint designs never chip or fade away. I usually have to do a deep soak to get them off (at other places they usually just lifted off). Def better than going downtown- nice little Oak Park gem. read more

I went to coco nails not even a week ago, the day I got them done at night I got a chipped and so I went in the next day and I appreciated that they saw me and fixed it. And now I'm experiencing the same issue that they're badly chipped, I've never had this kind of experience at other places I attend to get manicures. I was pretty disappointed because I always liked getting pedicures here but my experience with my fingernails aren't great especially for paying 60 for the paint to keep chipping. read more

I came to this salon because of the high reviews. I was tired of local shops not cleaning their tools property, causing nail infection, offering long wait times and no appointments. So even with high prices like theirs, I wanted to try. No........ Not happy. My nails end up fugly thick toenail, I would not enter public with. The tech said it is the nail polish, since it has sparkle particles it applies thick and therefore so fugly. Such a color should come with warning then. " Makes your nails looking like very old mans toenail" and perhaps should not be used in salons altogether? They took me as a walk in and Saturday for a no chip. I have to say I am quite pleased with the service that they gave me. They were pleasant. I picked out a light color. Apparently the color wasn't showing up on my nails. The text said something to the other tech and said that I should pick something a little darker. So I looked and pick something I thought was a little darker and again when they put it on it just wasn't showing up on my nails. One more time back to the book and I picked another color. This one worked well and it looks nice. They could've just painted my nails with the color that I had originally chosen. I may have been unhappy afterwards. They took the time to help me choose something that would be better. Now we'll see how long they last. I would come back to this place again. read more

Saw this nail salon while waiting for the train. Read the reviews about the neck warmer and privacy with the sheer curtains. I like supporting local businesses and decided to take a chance last minute on a Saturday mid afternoon. I did not have an appointment however they managed to squeeze me in between clients that did have appointments. There are only 2 workers at this time as one of them explained since they are still fairly new. I overheard her saying they hired additional staff but won't be starting for a couple more months. With that said, it is highly suggested to make an appointment. Although I was taken in between clients that had appointments, I never felt rushed. The pedicure massage was nice and relaxing, however I did not receive a neck warmer. Another customer that must've been there before came in and actually asked for it. I'll remember to ask next time! They do have sheer curtains in between each pedicure station, however they were not being used. I think it would have created an even more relaxing experience had they been used, but no biggie. The place is clean and chic. Tools are all sterilized and they use plastic liners in the pedicure bowls. The nail colors are organized and the same colors are available in regular, gel, and dip which is great if you like to match! They were a little rough with the cuticle pusher and cutter, but my mani and pedi still look brand new a little over a week later. Cost was a little pricier, but worth it and expected as this is a clean, chic nail salon. Paid meter parking is easy to find. They also accept credit card and tips on card. I will be back but may wait until they have more staff. read more

So I debated between 2 and 3 stars. I had the Deluxe Paraffin Wrap pedicure. Which besides the pedicure included callus treatment, sugar scrub and paraffin wrap. Sounds like a pretty indulgent service right? The tech who did my pedicure did a good job with the scrub, but that was it. She was super rushed and barely spent any time on my cuticles or the bottom of my feet. The whole thing from start to finish only took 35 minutes which is pretty fast for even a normal pedicure, let alone one that includes extra services. read more
