The best nail salon I've found in the area! Before finding Pink, I tried several other local nail salons and ended up disappointed with how quickly my nails chipped or the salon experience. I've now been to Pink for at least 4 dip manicures and 3 gel pedicures, and they are way better! It's super clean, they are very efficient, and the manicures and pedicures LAST for a long time. My dip manicures last 4+ weeks and gel pedicures 6+ weeks. They are perfectionists and able to do all kinds of fun nail art. I was a little hesitant because their online reviews aren't as high as some other spots, but don't let that deter you - I think they're paying more attention to the quality of the service and experience they provide than their marketing / paying for good reviews; they are better than the 3 other spots I've gone to with higher "reviews." I have been coming to pink nails for at least three years now. I could not be more pleased with the professionalism and the personalized service. My go-to nail technician is Nancy, who is always meticulous in the way that she works her magic on my nails. I generally get a no chip manicure. She keeps my nails healthy and beautiful. She has never hurt my cuticles or over-filed my natural nails. My polish stays perfect and shiny for at least three weeks. I can generally get a sane day appointment even on weekends. The only downside is this appointment lasted 2hrs. Here I am again, scheduled an appointment this time for 5. I arrived 5 mins prior and it was packed. I already knew what color I was getting. I was seated and 15 minutes passed before they began. I didn't leave until 6:50. This job was not done so well. My nails look uneven and the paint job does not lay flat on the nail. Today marks THEE LAST TIME I will be going to Pink Nail Studio. The ONLY reason I've frequented this nail shop is location/convenience. It's literally 5 minutes from me, but they have gotten my dime for the LAST TIME. I'd rather travel and plan ahead with appointments somewhere else than for PNS to keep getting over. Today I was charged $90 for no chip mani & pedi. NINETY. I believe business is slow for them and they are trying to make up for it by up-charging. Mind you, last time it was $80 so I think they said $90 to ensure a tip. On their menu it says a basic pedi is $38 and a mani $40. How we arrived at NINETY DOLLARS is beyond me. I've gotten a full set with designs for $45 at other shops. Not only do they gossip in their language and think no one knows or partially understands them, but a few of them are aggressive with flipping your hand away, snatching, tapping and saying, "relax", digging under the nails fast & hard with a very sharp tool and on and on. When I asked her about the $90, she said the pedi alone was $50. FOR NO CHIP!?? The ladies at Pink Nail Studio are sneaky, aggressive and there are better places to go. NEVER AGAIN! DONE! I will leave what made me write this review for last and start with the facts. Concerned about sanitation. The cleaning of the pedicure bowl I used was to spray Lysol spray and then rinse it out when the guy before me got up. Put together on a budget and that is fine. Budget place, very budget and simple look. Ikea bare bone tables and chairs for manicure (not the most comfortable), but still Oak Park prices. Rushed, rushed, rushed service. At the end, I gave the woman who gave me a pedi-mani a 10 tip. I gave the woman who did the same for my ore-teen daughter a 7 tip. And then I paid for both of our services at the front counter that was 5-7 feet away. At the counter the manager/owner asked if the 10 was for both of them. I told her no that I gave them each a tip. She asked how much. I slowed my speech and said while pointing to each that I gave her money and her money. She then asked the second lady in her language if I gave her a tip. All this before I was handed my credit card back. honestly i would not come back the lady who did my nails couldn't do a simple thing i asked her to do i asked for a light pink nail color and french tip on top and she said no she couldn't do it she proceeded to keep cutting my nails short even when i asked her and reminded her multiple times not to. After having a very painful pedicure I noticed my toe was red and bleeding after I left. During the pedicure I flinched a few times because of her rough treatment and my nails were perfectly healthy prior to my visit. I was leaving on a 2 week trip the next day that would require healthy, happy feet and I was worried abut all the walking we would be doing. I decided to return to show the manicurist. She completely denied she did it and shrugged her shoulders. What a coincidence that I just walked out and now my toe is red, bleeding, painful and newly pedicured moments ago. My toe became infected and turned purple on the trip requiring a trip to the podiatrist upon my return who recommended my nail being permanently removed. Honestly if I could give 0, I would.. I went in because my nail salon was too busy the day I needed to get them done. When I got them not only did she cut me 3 different times. I asked for dip nails.. in any salon they add a coat of clear to help them with thickness, I asked for that and she told me no.. I asked for a certain color and I didn't get that either.. at this point I was over it.. I left and let it go and learned my lesson.. not even a day later they are cracking and breaking all over. So I went in the next day and they are even worse, she told me I had to pay for the color I originally asked for. She cut me AGAIN, she cut my nails down so now they are all uneven because 1 of them broke all the way down. The others she filed wrong. I've never been to such a rude place that puts their customers last. To top it all off the colors of my nails are all different lesson learned to never cheat on your normal nail tech. read more

I am so disappointed to see what's happened to this place. This once adorable, stand-out salon opened when I lived a couple of blocks away a few years ago. Painted pink with a gorgeous color selection, comfy and pretty pedicure chairs, and the first nail salon I had been to with an enticing and varied mani & pedi menu, I fell for Pink Nail Studio hook, line & sinker. I recommended them to everyone and started getting my nails done twice as often. When I eventually moved away, I would even drive the hour back just for a mani-pedi, no doubt passing hundreds of other nail salons on the way. Over the years, things started to go downhill. I would chalk it up to a fluke, but I found myself going out to Pink Nail Studio less often. But after waiting over a month to get my nails done due to a hectic schedule, I cleared my day to drive out to Oak Park to visit Pink Nail Studio. It was on my calendar for a week. I was SO excited! I drove out there, parked in the lot across the street despite usually parking in the free garage by Trader Joe's just because I told myself I was making an "occasion" out of it. I haven't been getting color on my nails recently, just because during the busy season for me I am not able to get in to have them touched up often enough. But my nail beds are extremely dry and my cuticles grow like wildflowers. In the winter, my nails are brittle and tend to split. It's a mess. So I knew I wouldn't be in the nail studio very long- I only wanted a clean up. It's what I usually have done at other nail studios closer to me, though, so I know what it should entail. So, it's my big Pink Nails day. I park my car in the lot and walk through the door at 10:05am. (They open at 10) I ask for a manicure, no color. I was at least hoping to order one of the "fancy" manicures with the little lemon slices, or even the hibiscus one. I was excited! Then, I sit down with the lady to begin my express trip through the land of disappointment. I never did get that manicure menu. First, the nail tech: I hate dragging people. I was a server for years. I get it. I give the benefit of the doubt on all occasions. I've also dealt with many nail techs: I get that sometimes having to sit through some off-handed comments and unsolicited advice is part of the deal. I'm not trying to color everyone with the same brush- let's get real, *it happens.* The problem here was not so much that- it was that my nail tech pretty much would not listen to me. After we sat down, she got right to work, immediately skipping past the previous polish removal step. It was a clear coat, so it was totally understandable that perhaps she didn't notice it at first. So I told her, "Oh, I have nail polish on." Her reaction? "No." What? Me: "...Yes. Yes, I have a top coat on." Her: "No, there is no polish on." Me: "Yes. There is." She examines my nails. "No, no polish." and she continues filing my nails. "Round?" Me: "Yes. Round. But I do have nail polish on. I put it on myself. ...Last night. I know it's there." This time, if only to get me to shut up, she starts to remove my polish. Then she shows me my (very obviously suddenly less shiny) nails, as if to prove her point. "Look, see? No polish." I finally give up. I'll just remove it at home, I decide. At this point, I start looking around. Thats when I notice how bad everything else around has gotten, as well. My nail techs apron is filthy. The tech next to hers apron is filthy. I'm the first customer of the day. There is split, slobber or mucus wiped up the arms of the black hoodie another nail tech is wearing. The walls are FILTHY. There is a big knick in the wall that instead of repairing, someone just drew a rainbow over. By itself, I might have totally looked past this, if anyone would at least just wash the God forsaken walls! Or the aprons! Or the staffs personal laundry! But no, *everything* looked like it hadn't been washed since they opened and I fell in love with the place- years ago. At some point during the 5 or so minutes the tech spent on my nails, it seemed like she suddenly realized that the fact that I had a clear coat on my nails wasn't some fairy tale dream that I had made up. She quickly said, "Sorry" and did take off the polish on my other hand. Maybe she suddenly noticed the difference between the one she had removed to appease me and the one she hadn't? When she told me I was done, my cuticles were barely touched. What is the rush with NO CUSTOMERS at 10am? But between the dirtiness and the nail tech treating me like I was stupid, nuts, or both, I was finally ready to write this place off. I paid, tipped & left. After what I'm now looking back & realizing were quite a few bad experiences over the years, I cannot say I didn't give Pink Nail Studio PLENTY of chances to get their act together and become the wonderful salon they began as. It truly does make me sad to see here on Yelp that this feedback has been ignored by PNS. read more

This was my first visit to Pink so it may have been a fluke, but I won't be back. "Foot Refresher" pedi was nothing special; I can't imagine the cheaper "Express Pedi" involving anything less. My tech forgot to file the nails on one of my feet, even after I asked about it. By the time I would have asked again when she still didn't, she was already polishing so I let it go. Polish was TERRIBLE. Splotchy; totally incomplete coverage (as in: bare nail visible in several spots); lumpy finish; some on my skin. As soon as I got home I removed all the polish, filed nails on the foot she didn't do, and re-polished my nails. The icing on the cake for me was that when I went to pay, they charged me $5 more than the website lists the "foot refresher" as costing. (Which was already way overpriced in my opinion, based on the quality and what it entailed.) When I asked if that was the right price, showing her what the website says, she went and got a laminated piece of paper showing the higher price and said the website prices are wrong. To her credit, when I objected, she did charge me $30 according to the website price list. The people were nice enough and it was busy on a Friday afternoon, so maybe it was just an unlucky experience for me. read more

I frequented Pink Nails for almost 9 months but will not be going back. The last few times I've gone, I've noticed customers getting upset with the manager over advertising one price and charging another as well as issues with rudeness. Today, I experienced a similar issue in regards to pricing. If you go here, confirm how much the services are that you want to get. I'm not sure what's going on with the manager but she definitely comes across as a little shady. For the most part, a lot of the ladies who work there are very polite and nice. Visit Pink Nail Studio at your Own Risk! Proceed with Caution!This is my second time visiting Pink nail Salon and unfortunately this was the worst experience of the two. I walked into Pink Nail Studio around 6:23pm this evening and was greeted by an older lady who asked me what service I would like and after informing her,I was instructed to pick a color and I would be serviced. During this time, there was approximately 3 other customers in the salon.The young nail technician whom I was serviced by showed me a service list, at which time I selected the $30 Pedicure service.I didn't know I would be getting the McDonald's of pedicures. My service began about 6:30 pm, Approximately, 10 minutes into the service the nail technician began to rush through the service. While I am receiving my service, I also notice in the salon that ALL of the other Nail Technicians are cleaning up: sweeping, mopping the floor, and preparing as if it they are getting ready to close. I checked the website and take several glances at the door to make sure the door hours says 8 pm and the hours of Pink studio states Monday -Saturday 10-8 pm. By 6:50 pm, I was being escorted to the drying station. I requested that my toenails be shaped and cut - the nail tech did such a rush job that they are uneven. At 7 pm the young technician comes over to me and tells me that my feet are dry and I said to her " they can't be dry that quickly" she replies with "Yes" bends down and snatches the toes separators from in between my toes. By this time, the other nail technicians have their coats and belongings on and are exiting the establishment. I stand up gather my things and as I am walking towards the door I notice that the nail tech smudged the nail polish when she removed the toe separators. I immediately say to her while she's gathering her things that "while you're rushing you smudged the polish".I pointed to what she had done when she carelessly removed the separator. I went to the front desk to pay where the older lady was sitting with her coat on also. At that time, she charged me for an express pedicure ($27) which is an Overstatement! The older lady asked me a question regarding the service and I then told her that the nail tech smudged the polish. The nail tech sat me at the first pedicure station to correct it at that time I asked them if they still close at 8pm or if their hours changed. Both the ladies pretty much ignored me until I asked again.That's when the older lady told me that we close early when we don not have customers after 7pm. I informed the lady at the desk that I'm here and I'm a customer! The older lady said well...... you can stay and dry if you're not dry I said "No, that's okay I don't want to stay and I won't be coming back". As I exit the nail studio ALL of the other nail techs are waiting outside of the business. My receipt says 7:05pm and I was the last customer of the evening. How awful and unprofessional. If you want to close and leave at 7pm, Here's an idea: Change your hours, Have a cut off time for your last customer. Don't rush your paying customers and Don't show them a service list if you're not going to perform the service requested with quality and care. The place is cute and clean but the technician had to ask how to take off dip nails and they charge $50 for dip which is more than downtown in the loop so I got no chip but my nails started chipping after the 1st day so the quality of the product and/or technique is not great. Me and my friend came for a manicure and pedicure and just had the worst experience. First they charge an extra $15 to take off any dip or acrylic which is outrageously overpriced the lady didn't even know how to take mine off properly I told her she needed to file the dip down before putting the acetone on. ( I didn't want to do any unnecessary damage to my nails ) she said it would be fine and when she went to take it off just a little came off the top. Now my nails that have been sitting in acetone for 15 min take on the drill. Was not pleasant at all. She basically rushed Thu my pedicure and manicure ( my friend was shocked how short of amount of time I was in the chair) and then charged me up the ass. Also the cleanliness was a huge turn off.
