However, I really like mango so I went for the crazy mango with jasmine tea. This is really different for me when I was asked what tea I wanted since most places make their mango drinks with a milk base. It definitely taste healthier, less heavy. I like that I can taste the tea itself where the mango doesn't overpower the entire drink as teas can be quite subtle. They also have bits of grapefruit or pomelo and young coconut in the drink. This is one of the most expensive drinks on the menu. It costs $8 pretax. Most of the other drinks are on par with the market rate. I absolutely love their to go bags. The tea flavour is quite delicate, with options to substitute the milk and adjust the ice and sugar levels for certain drinks. Those who are lactose intolerant can rejoice because the oat milk substitution is free! Further, some drinks are caffeine free and available hot. It looks like there is only one size for drinks though. If you do opt for pearls, I find that Cha Yuan's have a nice chew/QQ to them. So far, I've only tried the milk teas and lattes, with my favourites being Matcha Latte ($6.50) with Coffee Jelly (+$0.75), Hojicha Milk Tea ($6) with Grass Jelly (+$0.75), and Brown Sugar Pearl Latte ($6), all substituted with oat milk. Cha Yuan is more of a grab and go, but there is some bar seating by the window should you choose to stay longer. YIFANG also uses local organic milk to elevate the quality on their drinks, so even though the price is a bit steep compared to other bbt shops, i think it somehow makes sense! 2. Brown sugar pearl milk $6.50 I remember it was YIFANG who first brought up the brown sugar hype in Vancouver! Always lineup there when they first launched the limited time brown sugar drinks back then. Love how soft, sugary and chewy the pearls are! They cooked the pearls right!! But overall it is a bit too sweet for me, which gave me sugar rush right after the first sip. If you're usually a 100% sugar level person, that's the drink for you! The milk tea is average and tastes similar to other places, but the fruit teas are quite refreshing. I like how most of them have tiny bits of fruit within the tea, which gives you some nice textures while you're drinking your bubble tea. I usually get it with less ice and half sugar, and it is still sweet enough. Some of their specialty drinks are also quite pricey -- almost $8 for one drink. Today, I decided to get the Lemon Grapefruit Green Tea (Half sugar, less ice) for $3.00 as part of the April promotion. The lemon taste was stronger than the grapefruit taste, but it was not sour. Pretty refreshing drink overall.
