The high tea here is nothing to write home about.
After having high tea in several places around Sydney, this place is definitely the worst. Firstly, there are only four varieties of tea to choose from (English breakfast, earl grey, green and peppermint) and it comes in a dainty little cup with no further refills. I thought the whole point of high TEA was to enjoy interesting and unusual tea flavours, and I've always gotten a pot with free refills of hot water. No such service here.
The chocolate and cakes are sickly sweet and we only got halfway through them before leaving because we all felt nauseous. At other high tea places were always given sandwiches to counteract the sweetness of the cakes but here, you don't even get enough tea to balance the sweetness out.
The staff were really unattentive and brusque, possibly because we had a voucher. Why on earth do they bother to offer vouchers if they don't want people turning up with them? The logic defies me.
As most of us don't drink, we asked if we could have another cup of tea instead of the bubbly. The girl reluctantly agreed to bring us a pot of tea to share, but apparently forgot halfway through making it. After waiting a while, we just gave up and told her we were leaving. We did not even receive the shot of hot chocolate that was promised as part of the deal.
The four of us paid $100 for some scones, mini cakes and chocolate and tiny little cup of tea. In addition, the place was amok with parents and their kids making chocolate at the studio, but it was way too cold and windy to sit outside. It was a complete rip off and absolutely not worth the money. This is not to mention the parking outside costs $5 an hour!
Save your money and go elsewhere. I do not recommend the high tea here at all! read more
