The unit that we stayed in was a donated week from a member. Overall, we enjoyed our time. We didn't leave the resort at all, as we needed a week to recoup and my husband also worked part time during our trip. We felt very welcomed. There was a special concierge desk for check in. We added three nights of the all inclusive package (we did a la carte otherwise). We were then ushered off to an "activities presentation" which was really just a gear up for booking us a time share presentation. Let me get one thing clear: We are not time share people, nor will we ever be. The incentive of additional resort credit was pretty tempting and the margaritas they were serving us were decently strong. Our room was really nice, albeit a bit dark. It had a huge gated patio which you could access the pool. The kitchen was okay for a week's stay but we weren't planning on cooking. Overall, very comfortable. The pools: nice temperature for October. A few too many kids for my liking (what are you gonna do?). Drinks were extremely watered down and service was spotty at times. The restaurants: I'll try and do some separate reviews but the crux of it were that the two main restaurants were great and the buffet was quite bad. Service: 5/5 stars. Very friendly and accommodating. Vibe: pleasant except A LOT (tons) of construction going on around the resort so pretty noisy. The client base were pretty chill. Not upscale but not low brow either. There's a market onsite to buy most things. Some which were really expensive, some were reasonable. My biggest complaint was the timeshare presentation. Absolutely NOT worth it. Super high pressure sales. Made us feel like we were being cheap and missing out. They tried every trick in the book. My advice: always tell these people that you don't make decisions on the spot without discussing privately. This seemed to really piss them off. The shuttle service to and from the resort was pretty pricey, but unless you're renting a car, there really aren't any other options. The views of the ocean and terrain around the property are absolutely gorgeous. Bottomline: this is a great resort if you're not looking for the nonstop wild party vibe of Cancun or other resort town. It's really chill. Avoid the timeshare and the buffet.

THE GOOD - Beautiful property with several pools and beach…read moreaccess -- it's a great place to relax - While I have a couple of gripes about the all-inclusive package (see below), I generally think it's worth the money, especially for the kayaking and paddleboarding on-site - Throughout the trip, all of the staff members were very kind and friendly to our party - Most of the food and drinks were good (there were a couple of exceptional items, like the steak tacos, and a couple of misses) - The gym has lots of equipment - Rooms are cleaned and well-maintained THE BAD - BUGS -- our group got lots of mosquito bites on our visit, and there were flies buzzing around the pool at all hours; additionally, there are lots of crickets and moths, and the room doors don't fully seal, so it's not uncommon to come home at night and find a cricket or two in your room - Poolside food/drink service is a great idea, but they are seriously understaffed in this area, so it took over an hour on multiple occasions to have food delivered on multiple occasions (over two hours in one instance) - Golf course looks immaculate, but is very overpriced ($575 USD for one round) -- would have loved to play, but for that price, you can play some of the nicest courses in the world instead - Two gripes I have with the all-inclusive pass: 1) unlike all other all-inclusive resorts I've been to where you walk in, get food, and leave as you like, this place makes you flag down a waiter and sign a check, which is frustrating because there are not a lot of staff who oversee the entire restaurant. 2) The steakhouse and several dishes at the sushi restaurant require additional payments on top of the all-inclusive pass. Feels like a nickel-and-dime type way to make money when the resort is already charging roughly $500+ per night for 2-person all-inclusive packages.

BAD - WiFi is very unreliable - Rental car service was very slow -- despite being one of two people getting a car and having our own agent to assist us (without waiting in line), it still took over 30 minutes of waiting to get a car - Coming out of the terminal, you will be harassed by resort, taxi, and local experience companies trying to get you to spend money with them

Very helpful with crafts and activities with the kids. Kids gave them hugs (kids are 11.5 and almost 9) when we left all saying how much everyone would miss each other. They remembered my husband and I from our trip without kids a year ago. Each show (every night!) they perform with excited enthusiasm and are so friendly before and after the show for pictures and just hanging out. They really go above and beyond. I hope that if a manager sees this they give a shout out from the Dylan, Mylah, Noe and Maria and a huge thanks. My kids particular appreciated Ximena, Laura, Mara, Mada, Karla, Jocelyn, Hugo, and many more I'm just bad with names. There is almost always something going on, and always such friendly fun faces leading them. The restaurant staff is also tremendous. Same with first day recognization, including preferences of each family member (like if we sat down for breakfast, they'd remember I wanted a green juice mimosa while my husband wanted an oj one and just got them, others remembering other things). Very friendly! The food is good too. As a vegetarian in a family of carnivores it's not always easy for me to find food where my family eats. I had zero issues and there are several vegan and vegetarian menus. The resort is calm, the kids could touch in the pool and feels incredibly safe. The safest and calmest while not boring or bland. Always immensely clean, well maintained and landscaped. The ocean - wow.  That's part of what brought us back. As far as you can see you can walk out - from shin deep to hip deep for adults, kids could stand and be well below their shoulders, ALL the way out. In the beach area there are only a handful of rocks, it's mostly all soft sand. And so so many beautiful fish everywhere to see. Along the hill to the side is rockier, crazy clear like the rest, with rainbow fish like crazy. On the beach are SUP and kayak rentals that are super easy to use even with kids on the calm water. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas, along with a beach bar with amazing staff, and some snacks. There is also a mini market, if you choose to cook in your room that has a decent supply - including vegan and gluten free foods. Plus essentials and gifts. We found this really helpful. I could go on and on about this amazing resort, it's beautiful beaches and amazing staff.

Santos also stopped twice on the ride to the mission to show us some wonderful scenery. The lunch at the Mission was terrible. All our food came out cold. Recommend that Wild Loreto try a different restaurant by the mission for lunch. The sunset boat tour was very nice. The catamaran is very small & seating is not the most comfortable but you get fantastic views of the mountains & shoreline. Food was very minimal but fine - chips, salsa, guac, cheese,fruit, & burritos. Drinks were beer, tequila, & rum. No wine - I was very disappointed with the no wine.

This was the best thing I've done in years…read more Our family group of 5 rode in a small boat to Coronado Island, piloted by Nicke (don't know how it's spelled, but is pronounced Neek-ay). We filled the boat so didn't have to have strangers ride with us and were very pleased about that. Nicke stopped and we got out & snorkeled at 3 different spots around the island. The first was the most spectacular underwater: Smooth, flat-side, house-sized boulders falling away from the island into the deepest blue depths, fish, all over, different kinds. Me just hanging in crystal clear water 70 feet deep... I haven't seen so many colorful & interesting fish since I was on the Red Sea as a kid. Nicke was so cool & didn't rush us. I could see other boats coming and going but we were here for around 1.5 hours and not made to hurry. It was so beautiful underwater that no-one wanted to move on. The next stop was a sea lion colony. This was an all-male colony; no females to fight over, so we were told we could safely swim with them - and we were not expecting THAT! Never dreamed I would have an opportunity to do such a thing! But we did and it was incredible. These are massive sea lions, not little seals. They were curious & swam all around each of us, and underneath, swirling and staring with their huge soft eyes, staying juuuust out of arms reach. It felt like an impossible dream. Nicke called us "the brave family" when we got out of the water here; I guess we got a little close to the sea lions. Again, other tour boats were coming & going but we were not rushed by our guide. The last snorkel spot was not as splendidly dramatic underwater as the first, but it was every bit as beautiful and had "tropical" fish everywhere. It was beautiful in a different way; you can't believe the colors you're seeing, the different shades of green and everything is close up, right in front of you, because it is much shallower. By the time were were done here, we were getting tired. Nicke took us to a clean sand beach with classic "perfect beach" turquoise water, set up an umbrella for shade and we lay around for an hour, till we were ready to go. And we were ready, it was a big day. Here he broke out some lunch and we ate every bit of it. If you are expecting cuisine at this juncture, you'd better bring it yourself. It wasn't fancy & there wasn't a lot of it, but that wasn't the point of the trip. We weren't there for a boat-ride & lunch. We got to spend hours snorkeling a world- class environment & swimming with wild sea lions for just over $10 an hour per person, an incredible value. Nicke did say that it was the best time of the year (fall) for clear water & visibility. I live 2 hours from here, near the beach, and will be returning to do THIS again with my Go-pro. If you don't have one, borrow one. You will want to remember this beautiful experience for a long time.
