A delightful dive experience! So grateful to Yago, Nico, Victor and Monica for the professionalism, support, and happy experience during our three days of diving.

We took two snorkel tours with Blue nation and loved them both. Friendly and experienced staff that know just where to take you to have the coolest experience. We highly recommend blue nation for snorkeling and scuba trips!

Yago, Monica, and Nico are absolutely the best. From the moment you start to make arrangements until you get off the boat, they have done everything possible to make your experience great. I need a little extra help, I'm 74, and without question they step up. When I wrenched my back and wanted out, Yago calmed me down so I could continue my dive. Yago and Nico keep an eye out for whales, sharks, nudibranchs, dolphins, mobula, and Nico always, ALWAYS finds me an octopus. They are the only shop in town with nitrox. A very professional organization!

Love my new t-shirt!!

I live in Los Angeles, so I completed my PADI Open Water Certification classroom modules online and then visited Loreto to do my certification dives with Yago & Monica. My experience was OUTSTANDING!!!! They are knowledgeable, bright, passionate, caring, fun, energetic, and professional. Everything was top notch, immaculate, and eco-friendly. They care about the ocean, customers, & each other, and it shows in everything they do!! I was so impressed with my scuba dives, that my four fellow travelers signed up to do a snorkel trip with me on our last day. Everyone was just as impressed and pleased with Blue Nation as I was. We will ALL be back whenever we visit and we're looking forward to spending time with Yago, Monica, and their crew when we're in Loreto. Thank you so much for an AMAZING, professional, safe, and memorable experience!!

Unequivocally recommend Blue Nation. Awesome dives! We spend a few days with them enjoying Loreto's beautiful scenery. They told us about the best spots in town to eat and they were all delicious! Diving days where all amazing, Yago is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and super professional. We dived in a couple of spots and saw sea lions and lots of turtles. On top of that they are impressively eco friendly and in tune with the environment, they use reusable lunch boxes and water jugs... no single use plastic at all! Heart melted!!!

We had an amazing time doing the "classic dive", a two-tank dive in the Sea of Cortez. We went around the volcanic island of Coronados, saw hundreds (HUNDREDS!!!) of dolphins swimming through the water around our boat, swam with sea lions, eels, and eagle rays. Plus of course a ton of fish. The Sea of Cortez offers fantastic diving, and Blue Nation is a local family owned business. Owners Monica and Yago were excellent and knowledgeable guides and very communicative ahead of time. I would recommend Blue Nation to anyone! They offer everything from boat tours to snorkeling to scuba diving.

The people were friendly and welcoming. The lodging was modern, clean and first class at La Mision Hotel. Every meal was excellent or outstanding. Loreto is not Los Cabos. All of this became the backdrop to the jewel of the trip, a day of fishing and relaxation in the Sea of Cortez. Cast N' Reel provided an extremely comfortable and fast boat for our fishing adventure. By fast, I mean that we were able to fish in one day all of the locations that would have taken three day with the local panga boats. All of our needs were anticipated. Breakfast, snacks, lunch, soft drinks and Mexican beers were amply provided. I am a novice fisherman, so I really enjoyed having the perfect balance of coaching and mentoring when needed while also the opportunity to work things out on my own. It was difficult to remember that it was mid-December. The weather was perfect. We caught eleven fish of multiple varieties including grouper and cabrilla. While the marlin and yellowtail were elusive, we did see sea lions, dolphins, sea turtles and perhaps even the dorsal fin of a shy whale. At the end of our day, our catch was taken to one of the better dinner houses in Loreto and prepare in a variety different dishes. They were all wonderful. It would be difficult to have a better ending to our day.

Liz, our hostess outdid herself with making us comfortable and ensuring we had everything we needed to make our stay memorable. She gave us a tour of Loreto so we could get a feel of where things were. Showing us the best restaurants and the most awesome homemade ice cream parlor. Liz arranged for a boat tour for us and let us know all the local happenings around the area. The Casita was equipped with everything you could imagine in a kitchen. I could have baked cookies if I was thus inclined, and the staff came in and cleaned every day. It was lovely having our morning coffee outside in the courtyard and with a heated pool you could swim at any time of the day. With a well stocked library and movies if you just wanted to stay at the casitas and relax you need not look anywhere else. Close by the town square and the marina, everything was within walking distance. We have already booked a 2 week stay next year we were so impressed with the service and room. Despite some hiccups as the date approached (confirmation emails with the wrong departure date and location), Guinevere moved mountains to make sure we got the experience we expected. This included positioning a newly acquired Bali 4.5 from Loreto to La Paz so it would be available for us. Captain John and Chef Macrina were beyond what we could have hoped for. They are an absolutely adorable couple whose passion for life and for each other is infectious and was the icing on the cake of an incredible experience. The food was fresh and fantastic and Macrina's candid observations of our progress were as welcome as John's. As someone who does technical instruction for a living, I really appreciated John's teaching style. It was organic but still structured. He could tell what we already understood well and spent more time emphasizing what could keep us out of trouble or perhaps save our lives. At times it was like drinking from a firehose, but there was still lots of down time for recreating in this unspoiled part of the world (snorkelling with sea lions, exploring mangroves with the dinghy). We left the course feeing like we had made two new friends and with a good foundation to continue what we hope is a lifetime of learning under sail. We really feel like we got so much more than what was promised. If you are considering doing your ASA certifications, do not hesitate to book with West Coast Multihulls in La Paz. There are not enough superlatives to describe our time with John and Macrina.

We saw dolphins and marlins swimming near the boat and went on hikes on both islands to see the beautiful views. Most of our group wasn't very familiar with snorkeling and he was very patient with explaining everything and taking time with each person to ensure they were comfortable. It was such an incredible experience and Said made sure on both days to ensure that everyone in our group was having a great time and went out of his way to make the experience as wonderful as possible. We also had some of the best food on both days of our trip with him. He took us to a great restaurant in San Javier and then we had the best ceviche and guacamole on the beach during our snorkel tour. I can't recommend Said enough and we're already working on planning our next trip to Loreto and Said will be the first person we reach out to once we know when it will be since we know he'll make sure to plan the best experience for our next excursion.

It was an odd day weather wise so we had really smooth water on the far side of the island, which allowed us to very easily view the sea lions, blue-footed boobies, volcanic rock formations, humpbacks, and more. We stopped at the "main" beach which has a covered area with picnic tables. There is a restroom but it's fairly nasty - I recommend the "big baño" that is the ocean instead. You can snorkel here as well as a few other locations around the island - ask your guide or boat captain. This uninhabited volcanic island is a natural, pristine paradise. Coronado is one of five islands in the Loreto Bay Marine Park which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Yes, thankfully the area is an international preservation site. It is protected so that its exceptional natural beauty can be shared with future generations. Happiness shared really is doubled. That being said, if you're in Loreto, I highly recommend taking a tour out to Coronado Island. I'll review my tour separately but will say that it was excellent. Depending on the season, you will probably see blue and/or gray whales, dolphins, blue-footed boobies, pelicans, and sea lions, all en route to Coronado's beautiful white sandy beach. If you have a chance to snorkel here, definitely do so. The water was a bit cold in February but the icy plunge was worth it to see things like chocolate starfish, stingrays, and some of the most beautiful and unique marine life on the planet. There.
