Love CoCo Beauty Lounge! Ever since I moved, this has been my go-to spot for hair. Mimi is who I have every time and she is absolutely fantastic. She's been doing hair for years and is very well-experienced. Not only does she know hair, but she is so personable and easy to talk to! Something I hate sometimes at the salon is being there for soooooo long; she is very wary of time and won't hold you longer than you have to (obviously it depends what you're getting done, but I get the same thing every time basically and I'm always at other salons for hours unlike here.) The results are always exactly what I want, too! The prices aren't cheap but they're not terribly expensive either - I've never broke the bank getting my hair done here. It's extremely easy to book, too, since you can do so online. They have so many options for what you'd like to get done and the prices are all openly listed. Booking an appointment here is a breeze. Besides hair, they have a lot of other services like waxing, spray tanning, makeup, facials, brows, and lashes. The vibe is luxe, clean, and modern. I've been going here for my hair since I've been 16. I moved to Texas and still will get my hair colored/cut here whenever I'm back in town.

This review is solely on my experience with Marissa, Rosa and Gina. Marissa is amazing at Eyebrows - She is truly the sweetest and will go above and beyond to fit you in. She is also a phenomenal makeup artist and I would highly recommend her. She can replicate pretty much any look you give her and she will ensure you walk out look glamorous. Rosa is an amazing hair colorist and stylist. She is appointment only but when she does your hair you feel like a million bucks Gina did my facial and is super knowledgeable in skin care and does amazing job. She is the sweetest and will take the time to set up a plan to get your skin glowing. Here are a couple tips on the salon;; Appointments highly recommended Payment - They only use Zelle, Venmo or Cash - They do not accept credit card so plan ahead. Which I am not a fan of because I like using my credit card for the points but it what it is. I would plan ahead since the services are priced out on their website. Parking is always available on the side of the salon The salon is beautiful and you can get many services under one roof however the salon is on the higher end on some of its pricing. I noticed Linzi posted on social media few days ago asking for reviews and so I finally decided to move forward with my experience. I also had the same thing happen to me as Kaotica A. I had an appointment with Linzi and she had her receptionist/assistant work on me as well. She said that there was a mistake in times of booking and not sure how that happened. I needed my hair done and figured what can go wrong if she was in the same room, well was I wrong. Since then I've heard from many others that if you are not making six figures within your household she will not want to be bothered by you. As I sat in her assistants chair for a few hours, Linzi took another client/friend and all I kept hearing was her gossiping about other women. I am sorry but I will never be back or refer anyone to this business. I apologize for not writing this sooner and hoping no one else had this type of experience. Made an appointment with Lyndsay 3 weeks in advance to get my hair done. When I got there, she started doing her friend's hair and tried to pass me off to the RECEPTIONIST to do my hair because she didn't want to be bothered with me. She also told her receptionist/stylist to "make up something" and cancel her next appointment, move someone to 3:45 and "I don't care about that one" which was apparently her last appointment. I inadvertently caught this on video because I was freaking out and while calling my bf and googling other salons, I hit my camera button at some point. Then, she sat me in her chair and told me it would take 4 hours to do my hair and she doesn't have time so she reschuled for another day. THEN I get a text a few days before the next appointment date (which I wasn't going to go to anyway because I don't trust her) saying my hair is too complex (highlights & lowlights) and she's not qualified to do it and STILL didn't have the appointment date right! I could tell she was confused when she looked at my hair which is why I made an appointment at a much better salon. She doesn't care about her clients, (unless you're her friend) she treats you as though you are beneath her and she will lie to you without hesitation. Some of my friends told me they had a similar experience when they went there but I didn't ask anyone about her before I went. I just went off of Google reviews. BIG mistake. read more

I understand customers having unreal expectations about how they want their hair to come out however the employee should inform the customer that it can't be done in one session, that was not the case here. Also the girl washing my hair didn't put a towel on my back to stop water from running down my shirt and made me wait in the washing chair till the hair stylist was done with a different client. Since there was no towel my shirt was soaked.. She could've been new cause she asked the stylist a lot of questions. Then the stylist finished my hair and said that it'll take a couple of sessions to do what I came for and charged me 200 dollars, she also took off much more hair than I wanted because I feel like she just wasn't listening to me. Honestly wasn't worth the money and I feel like she could careless about me as a client.. read more

Very nice staff. Salon was pretty. Parking good. Hair looked GREAT!! I was taken as soon as I walked in for my appointment. Got lots of compliments. Three stars are because although hair looked great when it was styled. when I was drying the next day there were many uneven highlights under. For $220 the hair should be perfect. I sometimes wear my hair in a pony tail or pulled back. But doing that looked very bad because of uneven areas. In their defense I never called the salon to give them a chance to fix it. When you walk into Coco Beauty lounge, you are immediately welcomed with scented candles, cookies, tea and Coco's glamorous decor. Linzi really takes the time to understand what you are looking for and brings your hair dreams to life. What I appreciate about Linzi and Angelica is that they are always seeking to learn new techniques and stay up to date with the latest and greatest trends in the hair industry. I went here for my daughter's first haircut. My sister in law goes here so she wanted my daughter to have the salon experience. It was a nice girly place. I was under the impression that we had an appointment but it took them almost an hour to take care of my child. The girl who cut my daughters hair looked a bit confused on how to execute my four year old's haircut which led me to believe that although they were nice it wasn't a kid friendly place. The girl did a good job on my daughters hair but it was a straightforward haircut. When we got home we noticed she still had a long strand that wasn't even. I guess for the area that's a nice place but I'm sure I can find equally good salons in Chicago without having to drive all the way to Elmwood park. read more

I went here to see Maggie and she is truly a delight! I got the Keratin Complex done to my hair and it has really been life changing (crazy I know but believe me when I say it) It used to take me 45 minutes to do my hair with blow drying and flat ironing... now TEN MINUTES!! Seriously amazing no more frizz!! She is wonderful to talk to and provided amazing service!! I absolutely recommend you to see her and for sure try the Keratin Complex it's great! read more

I am from the area and my eyebrow girl sometimes works in cocos so I went in to get a lash list and got one from bobbie and paid $100. I have had lash lifts in the past so I'm aware of how they should look and what to do with them. What first seemed weird to me is that it took 3 days for the chemicals and stickiness to fully come off my eye lashes, about 3 weeks after getting the lash lift done my eyelashes started to fall out and I was missing an entire middle chunk of lashes which instantly freaked me out because its never happened to me before. I called Cocos and asked to speak with the manager, she answered the phone very rudely and gave me a very fake and phony apology, Bobbie called me later that evening and continued with the same phony fake attitude telling me it was my fault my lashes were coming out that they wouldn't be coming out this long after which is false because I have had a lash lift done before and never once experienced them falling out. After this I proceeded to go online and read reviews from people on bobbies services, more than half of them were negative. I wish I never went here in the first place, the staff is very rude and phony, I did not get my money back, they stole my money and I've noticed they tell people its "our" fault that these things are happening instead of taking the proper blame as they should for their mistakes. read more

I've been seeing her for years, from lengthy SoCap extensions and black hair to making the leap for the LOB, those chunky blonde highlights back in the day, and just about everything in between. Stopped in there for a quick trim. Can't remember the girls name that cut my hair but she has only been cutting hair for a year. I have straight hair and was getting a simple trim. The haircut I received was mediocre at best. The worst part is when I went to pay and was charged $50.00!!! Are you kidding me? I could go to a salon in the city and get a haircut from a stylist with a lot more experience and it still wouldn't cost as much. Won't be returning anytime soon. read more
