If you have never had Tres Golpes, let me explain the name. It means "three hits," and that is exactly what happened to me. The mangú hit first, smooth and buttery with those pickled red onions on top doing the Lord's work. Then came the fried salami, the queso frito, and the eggs, all landing one after another. By the time I added the avocado and a squeeze of lime, I was fully knocked out. In the best way.
This is the real deal. Calidad, sabor y tradición like the sign says, and they were not exaggerating. The plate looked like something my abuela would make if my abuela also had a 397 follower fan club. The iced tea was cold, the portions were generous, and I left walking a little slower than when I came in.
