Legit a 'bakery.' No fakery. I'm not huge into bread but then again, you can't avoid it. Quickly, bring me a beaker of wine, so that I may wet my mind and say something clever. Where there will be wine, there will be bread.

Cinnamon Month(November) at Cobs Bread. The inevitable has happened and they have expanded in the middle of nothing where I exist. Cobs Bread took over a unit from Mamma's Pizza and I'm so glad it did so, but that's a story for another time... It's actually quite a surprise to find Cobs Bread here as strategically there are a few competitors within the immediate area that is Maple, ON and that's not even considering the sister neighbour of Woodbridge. Up here every Italian Bakery or Grocery Store has a bread selection that the locals enjoy. The advantage this Cobs location(#9316) has over the other nearby Bread shops is that it solely specializes in Breads and Pastries while other are more of an all-in-one grocery shop. That means when you step inside, the AROMA of the bread and sweets is distinct that other shops cannot provide. Food is after all a full sensory experience that includes olfactory. Yeah, it looks like a cute Bakery shop as well where I got a Ham & Cheese Croissant that I would say is a bit small in stature for the price valued. I think I would like a Ham & Cheese Bun at a Chinese Bakery instead. The Teatime - Apple & Custard was A-OK although again I find it a bit on the premium pricing. Extra points for having a website that allows people to see the ingredients and nutritional value as I am on a diet. Bonus points for having the friendly owners and staff unlike the previous business that occupied this space. And if it's a place in the middle of somewhere random, with no seating and looks like a factory, there must be something about this place. And I was very right. Bartholomew feels like a hidden gem with it's location and outlook, but inside are some of the best, or dareisay, the actual best pastries in the GTA. So much to choose from and so many options, you'll probably leave with boxes full like many of the others here. Be prepared to take out another mortgage with the amount you'll spend here. But it's so worth it. Buttery flaky goodness in literally every bite. I had the almond croissant and the chocolate cherry pastry and oh my gosh, their flavours are SO right. It's so fresh that it almost doesn't feel like I'm cheating. I'll be coming here again and again and again. Also, I reached out to the owners who confirmed that all of their pastries which don't have alcohol or meat items are otherwise fully halal, even down to the gel they use in some of the pastries! We love an inclusive bakery.

It is a LONG wait if you come to purchase in person (aka not a pickup order). HIGHLY RECOMMEND pickup option. We waited 45-60 mins on a rainy day. It is super popular! Some items were sold out due to popularity, but honestly not worth the hype. It is good pastries and a bit more unique due to their flavor combinations, but the execution feels rushed and dry. We had their croissants, which should be freshly made, but somehow it was dry, stale, and the only thing saving it was the filling. Not sure what happened as I've heard good things about it. Very much a swing and a miss. If we try it again, will definitely try to order for a pickup. Their sandwiches were much better, but there is standing room only in the cafe so its a pickup and go place. It is in an industrial location, so driving and parking is out of the way. For the location, it probably is the better option around (aka Vaughan), but either a bit west or east, there are better options without the long wait times. Try it at least once though, and try at least one of every item, you might find something you like, for me, it was their sandwiches, even though I was there for their pastries.

In a quiet corner of Woodbridge, La Strada Bakery defies easy categorization -- and therein lies…read moreits singular charm. What presents itself modestly as a neighbourhood Italian bakery reveals, upon closer acquaintance, something altogether more intriguing: a transatlantic pastry dialogue between the Old World and South America, shaped by the hands of a Uruguayan chef who brings both traditions to bear with quiet confidence. The cannoli are, without equivocation, the crown jewel of this establishment. Piped to order, the filling achieves a textural ideal -- sweetly yielding, impeccably creamy, and notably free of the aggressive lemon notes that so often overwhelm lesser versions. The shell delivers a satisfying, delicate crunch, its restraint allowing the ricotta cream to assert itself as the undisputed protagonist. These are cannoli that would draw admiration well beyond the borders of Woodbridge. One ought not to overlook the sfogliatelle, rendered here in golden, shattering layers, nor the cherry-filled donuts -- generously proportioned, freshly made, and possessed of a quality that lingers in memory long after the visit. The facturas, custard-filled and dusted with care, speak fluently to the South American soul of the kitchen, while the empanadas offer a savoury counterpoint of notable finesse. The space itself is intimate to the point of cosiness -- a handful of seats, a tall central table, and a glass case brimming with the day's offerings. The pace is unhurried, the atmosphere warmly domestic. Tony, the proprietor, greets each guest with a hospitality that feels entirely genuine -- the kind of welcome that transforms a transaction into something closer to a visit with an old friend. If one were to offer a gentle note, it might be that the sheer breadth of the offering -- Italian classics alongside Uruguayan specialties and homemade ravioli -- occasionally tests the boundaries of the compact space. Yet this abundance, curated with evident passion, is ultimately more virtue than flaw. La Strada is a bakery for those who understand that the finest pleasures are often found where one least expects them.

There's a self serve area that you can buy loafs of bread, they have sweets and pastries behind the counter that the staff get for you, and a brunch menu that you can order from. You order at the front, grab your buzzer and grab your food at the counter when it's ready. Here's what I got: Smoked Salmon Benedict 5/5 - Came with two poached eggs on a sourdough thick slice, spinach, cream cheese, smoked salmon, hollandaise and side salad. Love the colours of the meal, eggs were perfectly runny, and flavours were amazing. Matcha latte 4/5 - It was good and a vibrant green colour. I love that they do a latte design on the top Lotus cube croissant 5/5 - Loved the cube shape of this croissant. It was a nice flakey texture that was perfectly sweetened. Overall, great brunch spot that is cute and vibey. Love the colour and presentation of their food and would be back!

It may get to the point where it gets overwhelming haha. We shared a hot coffee and a smoked ham sandwich. Although it was good, I would have preferred it if they could heat it up as we had it straight from the showcase. I liked that they gave us pickled cabbage with it as well. Great amount of seating, good for groups and those who need to work on their laptops solo. Lots of natural lighting as well.

Taste: The shells were crispy, and the ricotta filling was smooth, not too sweet, and overall tasty. The lobstertails were also crispy and creamy. Verdict: After trying the 3 most famous cannoli spots in Vaughan, this one ranks 3rd for me. They were good, but nothing mind-blowing--I wouldn't go out of my way just for these. Of course, this is subjective, so this might be someone else's favorite! Bakery & Service: The store was clean, well-organized, and easy to browse. The staff was friendly, but I wish they had price tags on display. Beyond cannoli, this bakery offers a huge selection of pastries, bread, cakes, deli meats, ready-to-eat meals, coffee, and gelato--so I'd love to come back and try more!

When I attempted to speak, she glanced at a colleague, checked the time, and rather dismissively stated, "We are closed." This was confusing, as several customers were still actively shopping and completing purchases. When I pointed this out, she responded that "this section is closed," despite remaining at the same counter and continuing her work. The interaction came across as unprofessional and discourteous. I would expect a more respectful and customer-oriented approach, particularly when the store is still open and serving others. I hope management is aware of such conduct, as it does not reflect well on the overall customer experience.
