Millstone is such a culinary gem in the East Tennessee countryside! They're famous for their giant…read morehamburgers, and the Smokehouse Burger I ordered lived up to the expectations! That magical texture of the crispy, buttered bun against the tender pulled pork, onion ring, and thick double patties is unforgettable!! Drizzled with barbecue sauce, the perfection is complete. And while some burger joints hide behind toppings with lower quality beef, just one taste of the burger patty all by itself makes it clear that Millstone only uses meat of superior quality! It's quite stunning! The fried okra is for real, some of the best I have ever eaten at any restaurant! They say the fried mushrooms are insanely good here, but I'm not a mushroom guy. Try them is that's your thing. They also have a massive burger challenge with sides, but only one teenager ever finished it. If you're anywhere near Dandridge, even if you're two minutes away at I-40's exit 424, GO TO MILLSTONE RESTAURANT!!

The service was amazing, and everyone we interacted with was incredibly friendly and accommodating. One of the kitchen staff members even helped us open an umbrella so we could sit outside. Later, when he came out for a smoke break and noticed we were still eating, he thoughtfully moved to the other side of the building. We were traveling with our two dogs and appreciated that they were welcome both inside and outside. We chose to sit on the patio, and our waitress immediately brought out a bowl of ice water for the dogs without us even having to ask. The bathrooms were also very clean and charmingly decorated. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we would definitely visit again!

I ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer only to have it delivered with batter so thick you could not find the tomato, and the batter had a fishy taste like the grease had also been used for frying fish. They were just not edible. When the waitress came to ask us how we enjoyed them, I told her there was too much batter and the grease tasted fishy. She didn't say a word, turned and walked away. You could tell her "How was it?" Inquiry was automatic and not a genuine concern for how the customers were enjoying the meal. It didn't get better. My grilled pork chops were tough, overcooked, and lacking any flavor. I could only eat one of the two provided. The pinto beans lacked any seasoning, but the coke slaw was good. My wife's pork chop was fried, and was better. It was cooked as it should have been. But her Mac and cheese was gummy and had an odd flavor. The cornbread was dry and not good. A friend who ate with us had Country Fried Steak. He said the steak was passable, but the gravy was disappointing. No onions at all in the gravy. This was not a good eating experience, and with the waitress's attitude, it was an almost a total flop. The sign at the entrance tells it all.

We ate at Davy Crockett last week and really enjoyed our visit and the food. It's got a down home…read moresouthern feel with home cooking style food. It's smaller inside than we thought from the outside, but has a good amount of seating, with booths down the sides and tables in the middle. Expect to spend $10-15 per person, plus tip. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and tasty. Also loved the fried okra and onion rings. The coleslaw and rolls were good, but not the best I've had. Neither of us cared for the cornbread; was very dry and bland. The wife enjoyed her country fried steak, corn and fries, but wished the steak came with white gravy instead of brown. The brown was also a little salty for our taste. The wait staff was friendly and helpful; brought us both rolls and cornbread so we could try them (definitely go with the rolls). She even brought me a sample of their coleslaw to try. We didn't ask her to do this she just offered, which was super nice. Food came out fast and drinks were refilled promptly. We had great service and really good food; will definitely be back!

So I ordered the fish, and when she brought it over, half the food slid off the plate onto the table. She then apologized and said she would be back to clean it up. She came back; as a matter of fact, three other waitresses passed and saw the food on the table and said nothing . The waitress who spilled the food on the table never did what she said she would do and never cleaned it up. I finished eating what was left, thinking they were going to bring a new meal; it never showed up. I took a picture of it to show to my congregation of what restaurant service has become and like a dog you eat the food on the floor, then why bring a plate. Just dump the food on the table. Now the tartar sauce comes in a packet, you know, fast food, but in a restaurant. The fish fillets were small. I get more and bigger fish fillets at Captain D's. I will never go back ever again, bet; Davey wouldn't either. The picture really reflects this Disaster
