While examining my puppy, the doctor confidently informed me that my dog could not be 7 weeks old because he had his baby teeth grown in and was "more like 12 weeks at minimum," thus my dog was not a Great Dane at all. My puppy was taken to the back for a closer look, where I could overhear staff making snide jokes about his supposed breed identity crisis being called a Chihuahua Great Dane mix. To add to the fun, they changed his birthday in their system to make him 12 weeks old without telling me, because why let the owner in on that decision? I got a second opinion elsewhere, where the vet confirmed what I already knew: he is a purebred Great Dane. He's now 12 weeks old, 30 pounds, perfectly healthy AND still not a Chihuahua. I'd personally be hesitant to trust a vet that can't recognize one of the most recognizable dog breeds out there, but that's just me. If you're looking for medical care and a surprise rebrand of your dog, this might be your place!!

We were considering boarding our girls for a couple days. We wanted to stop by and ask questions as well as to see the facility first. The building looks much bigger on the outside than it does once you go in, and unfortunately the overall atmosphere did not feel very warm or welcoming to us. The staff member who gave us the tour was informative but the overall experience felt very impersonal. We were told boarding requires an additional vaccine as well as flea and tick treatment which added more cost than we had expected. We had our girls records with us to show they were up to date on all their shots. What surprised us the most though was learning that dogs only get playtime if you pay for additional play sessions. We were confused by that since we assumed some basic time out to stretch their legs was included with boarding. We asked again how many times do they get to go out and we were told however many sessions we pay for. In the end we decided to stick with our current vet even though they are further away. Theyve always taken care of our girls there and handle their flea and tick treatments that aren't so costly like tempe lake veterinary. We really wanted to give this place a chance since its conveniently located but overall the experience wasn't a right fit for us.

We had a virtual urgent care call and they were concerned enough that we brought him into The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic to check in on him. After an ultrasound, they found that he had a mass on his spleen and was internally bleeding, and had to go into immediate overnight emergency surgery. The surgery was successful, and after a 36 hour hospital stay, Barkley is back home and on the mend. While this was such a scary experience and few days, I have nothing but wonderful things to say about The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic and their team. They are open 24/7/365, and provided around the clock care. Because of the length of his stay, we worked with and spoke to multiple of their veterinarians and assistants (thank you to Dr. Ferguson, Dr. Fleming, Dr. Goldberg, and Dr. Blackmon), and everyone was so kind, attentive, and caring through every step of the process, gave us calls throughout the night with updates and over the past few days to check in on Barkley's progress, and were so compassionate in all of the care they provided. Tapatio is labeled as a "Be Careful" dog because of his anxiety (I get it, he's a handful) but the vet techs are always so welcoming and are always happy to see my pups!
