Joe completed replacing 14 sprinkler heads in my house without any flaw. He was diligent, humble, and informative about what he was going to do. I didn't have any stress nor concern during his onsite work, it's truly good for value. Originally we called them for sprinkler line water leak, and they found out that the sprinkler heads are of recalled and need replacement. I would highly recommend Coastwest Fire Protection for anybody who needs fire safety related matters. read more

There was a leak from a fire sprinkler in my living room. A very nice technician from Coastwest cut the sheet rock and replaced the sprinkler head. I hired a separate sheet rock guy to fix the ceiling. Afterwards the Coastwest technician came back to replace the sprinkler cover. I'm happy with the work efficiency and result. read more

I worked with Coastwest Fire Protection for my new construction. Tim and his team worked with us to design, plan, work with the city/planning/permitting/fire dept to get everything submitted, get our fire sprinkler system installed and working correctly, inspected and signed off. It has been a very positive/smooth experience, and Tim and his team have been quick to follow up whenever I reached out and have been friendly, timely, and proactive. I'm very glad I worked with Tim and his team and recommend them to anyone with a fire sprinkler project. read more

Absolutely awesome all around! I contacted a bunch of plumbers and fire protection companies on Yelp about a leaky pipe in our front yard that feeds our fire sprinkler system and more than 10 other companies on here either said they couldn't fix it, came out to look at it and then said they couldn't fix it, or just never got back to me. On the other hand, Coastwest got back to me almost immediately asking for photos, and based on the photos I sent they diagnosed the problem clearly and in detail and gave a cost estimate and said they could come out and fix it in a couple days. I waited for responses and estimates from other places and after almost a week of getting jerked around by others, I scheduled Coastwest to come out. They came out, confirmed the issue, the work, and the cost with us. They then went to get supplies, shut off the water, repaired the issue, turned the water back on, and everything was fixed and done and in perfect shape in like 3 hours! read more

This is a delayed review from a project Tim at Coastwest handled for us back in July of 2022. Due to a change in responsibilities, our HOA was past due for a 5-year fire inspection. I reached out to Tim and he was extremely responsive and accommodating to our tight timelines. The job was completed professionally, and although the HOA was in a rush, Tim did not cut corners or do a "rush job". As the icing on the cake, he even came back later and installed a new sign on the main line to make it easy for all to see. Overall, an great experience and we will definitely be using his services again! read more

It is Sunday and an alarm was going off in my garage. Sounded like it was coming from one of the overhead sprinklers. I called Coastwest Fire Protection and Tim came right over. He finally figured out what was going on. An old smoke detector that got replaced and was sitting on the garage floor in a bag and it had gone off. He smashed it for me. Problem solved. Tim repair my sprinkler system in 2020 and he is great. Really knows his stuff. And a nice guy to boot. read more

I wish there was a way to give Tim and Coastwest a rating higher than 5, and I wish more vendors were like him. The pressure gauge on our fire sprinkler system had water in it and we contacted Coastwest. Tim came out the next day, did a complete inspection of our fire sprinkler system, replaced the pressure gauge, and performed a few other deferred maintenance tasks. Tim is superbly knowledgeable. He took the time to answer all my questions while showing me how the system worked. Will always go to Tim when I have fire sprinkler needs. A++++++ read more

Called Tim to do a inspection on my home sprinkler system, he did it for me 2 years ago, per request from my homeowners insurance. Tim is very professional, courteous, reasonably priced, and did a thorough inspection of my system. He also pin pointed and recommended issues that needed fixing, to avoid problems in the future, without any pressure. I've used Coastwest Fire Protection twice and would definitely use them again in the future for my fire safety needs. I highly recommend this company! read more

Customer of mine bought a newly remodeled house with a separate garage that was converted into an ADU Long story short previous contractor never closed out permit or finished work, they never added the required sprinklers It was such an ordeal trying to work with the City and different departments to try and get this resolved until we contacted Tim, he was able to design a system, wok with city departments and fire marshal. It's refreshing to have someone with such a detailed knowledge of their trade, Tim's crew completed the work in no time once everything was approved. You can instantly tell that he is trustworthy and passionate about his work. read more

5 Stars for this guy. Called 10 fire protection people and nobody called me back. Tim called back and was willing to come out and explain and calm us down from a leaky fire sprinkler head. Didn't end up needing to use him but it was great how willing to help he was. thanks Tim! read more

We needed a 5 year Sprinkler Inspection and called Coastwest Fire Protection. Tim, Wade, and Orlando were professional, reliable, and thorough. We were happy with the service and highly recommend them for fire protection services and repairs. Thanks Coastwest Fire Protection! read more

Our sprinkler story from hell: one burst in our master bathroom--flooded almost the entire house. Tim helped us swap out all the old sprinklers for new ones that have a protective dome. He also helped identify another aging supply pipe that needed to be fixed before THAT one burst!! Tim is responsive, compassionate, and efficient. I've dealt with other sprinkler companies that are rude and seem to be "selling" their services and trying to add more to do, making you wonder if they're honest or not. You get the complete opposite with Tim. He treats you and your home like he would his....I'll recommend him to our whole complex. read more

Had a fire sprinkler head go bad on a Friday night, had to turn water off to entire house. Reached out and Tim was super fast to respond. He also would be able to get out to the site faster than anyone I contacted. Furthermore, he is extremely knowledgeable in his profession. He had amazing insight on why I had certain issues and easy ways to fix (that no other company ever mentioned was a possibility). Super friendly, fast and knowledgeable. His emergency service fee was pretty high (to be expected), so I ended up not using him and simply went longer without water to get a better deal elsewhere. Well the better deal ended up costing over 2x what Tim's quote was after bait and switch tactics from the other guys. Do yourself a favor and use Tim! read more

Hired Coastwest Fire Protection for installing sprinklers for a major remodel project (still awaiting SCCFD final inspection). I didn't end up working with Tim - but he was so great that I had to leave him a 5 star review as it was the least I could do. Had trouble with getting our current fire sprinkler company to complete minor work during the lockdown for our renovation. I reached out to Tim to see if he would help and he came out (properly in masks and gloves), looked at the situation and was willing to complete the job. He was timely, informative and explained the process thoroughly. The original vendor ended up finally completing the work, but had I worked with Tim from the beginning this would have never been an issue. If I have any needs going forward, will definitely go here first next time. read more

I can't say enough great things about Tim, Rodrigo and the Coastwest team for their help with our failing fire sprinkler riser. The faulty riser was badly installed by the original vendor, who used the wrong materials (iron pipes) and wrong riser set up, causing a terrible corrosion problem. Additionally, the original vendor had come out to replace sprinkler heads that had been recalled and after the replacement simply forgot to reset the check valve, resulting in our entire house water supply being shut off one Saturday morning. Could not have been more inconvenient. We called several fire protection sprinkler contractors that morning and all day, including our our original vendor. Not even the offending vendor would come out!!!! You know who was the only one to respond? Tim West of Coastwest!!! While on vacation in Costa Rica!!! Know who was the only one willing to get somebody out on the weekend to restore our water? You guessed it. Coastwest. Tim's foreman Rodrigo came out Saturday evening and figured out an ingenious bypass to restore our water (a plumbing skill you wouldn't expect by the way). We then scheduled a replacement of our sprinkler riser, so that we wouldn't face this problem again, and Tim kept the cost from being astronomical I might add. Oh and they threw in replacement of our main valves with the most up to date models for an added bonus. All this is to say that you couldn't find a more competent or customer service oriented vendor if you tried. It was pure serendipity and unadulterated luck that we found Tim, Rodrigo and Coastwest! Could not be happier with them and highly recommend! read more
