My husband and I decided to rent some e-bikes during our first visit to Pacific Grove. We planned on biking from Pacific Grove on the 17 Mile Drive along the coast to Carmel. We got in contact with Carlos and Coastal Ebike Connection a couple of days before we flew into Monterrey from Phoenix. From our first conversation with Carlos on the phone, we immediately knew that we had made the right decision on renting ebikes from him. Carlos met us at the motel we were staying at in Pacific Grove at 0900 in the am, and gave us some quick lessons on how to use the e-bikes. He also provided us with helmets (which were VERY comfortable), water bottles, a lock for the bikes, backpacks to carry our belongings, and some nice warm vests with the company logo on them. We signed some forms, Carlos chatted with us for a bit and snapped some photos with our phone cameras, and off we went! We had an amazing time, and wouldn't have wanted to explore the 17 mile drive any other way than on the e-bikes. You can stop as often as you want and take some amazing photos and enjoy the views at your own pace. We stopped in Carmel for lunch and shopping and walking in the neighborhood, and then headed back to Pacific Grove on our amazing e-bikes. Carlos was such a joy to chat with--such a warm, friendly, and outgoing person who is clearly enthusiastic about his business and putting his customers first. We felt like we had been friends for years after meeting and interacting with him. You will LOVE him. Carlos drove to our motel after we had texted him that we had finished our bike ride, and we talked about our amazing experience while Carlos packed up the bikes in his trailer. We highly recommend that you rent some e-bikes from Carlos when you are in Pacific Grove, whether it be for 4 hours, or 8 hours---you will not regret it. read more

We rented a Radwagon electric bike from Carlos and took our kids (age 3yo and 5yo) all over Monterey and Pacific Grove. He delivered the bike to our home, completely set up for our kids, with seat cushions and handle bars (which he had adorned with butterfly stickers.....and specifically instructed them to "hold onto the butterflies" when the bike was in motion). It was fantastic. The kids had a blast. I highly recommend Carlos and Coastal Ebike Connection if you are thinking about renting some ebikes to explore the penninsula - especially if you have small kids you want to tow around! Best day ever. Carlos was great, the bikes were great. Outstanding quality, value and customer service. I highly recommend them. More details below. I contacted Coastal Ebike Connections from their website. I was contacted promptly to confirm bike availability and type and discuss suggested routes and meet points. Carlos also suggested I get reservations for lunch at Pebble Beach which would be a good mid-stop (which I did and was perfect). We met at the public parking lot by Dust Bowl Brewing by the old wharf as agreed (they can meet you at several spots or come to you). A perfect and convenient spot right on the bike path. Carlos had the bikes, helmets, waters, backpack and lock. He adjusted the bikes to our sizes and gave us the quick tour of the bike's operation. Then he helped us with route and stop suggestions. Carlos even checked in mid-day with some additional recommendations knowing we were taking our time. When we returned to our start point, Carlos was there and checkout was as simple as check-in. The bikes are sturdy and well maintained - they worked perfectly and we loved our first experience with electric bikes. We rode over 28 miles (for our 28 year anniversary) and did the first half with just a little e-assist, but loved having the higher electric assist modes for the long ride back. We rode from Monterey to Carmel and back with many stops and it's a perfect ride. The ride is mostly on bike trails and bike lanes, and mostly along the ocean. It's a spectacular way to see the peninsula. Carlos and Coastal ebike Connections made it such an easy and successful day. I will be back and highly recommend them. Carlos delivered the eBikes to us at Asilomar in Pacific Grove. The bikes were in excellent condition and batteries fully charged. Carlos included water, warm and stylish jackets to keep us warm along the coast, good quality well fitting helmets, and comprehensive instructions on how to operate the bikes. He provides great customer service and awesome suggestions for paths and stops along the way. 100% recommend. We've done same day reservations but please reach out in advance to secure your bike.
