My son was so excited for his lesson every time. Miss Sarah and her helpers are very skilled at instruction. Every time Sarah corrected my son's grip he had a good shot on the next try. As long as he listened to Sarah and the other instructors he did beautifully, especially for a 4yo playing his first time! These ladies are GREAT with kids, and they have really creative fun drills disguised as games, which the kids LOVED! If you aren't sure your kid will like/is ready for tennis, Sarah has rackets available for anyone to use if you don't have your own. The most convenient part about these lessons is you can pay as you go, and cherry pick your weeks according to your schedule. Most local kids go once per week, but we were on vacation and wanted to get more lessons in, so we did twice per week. No problem! As long as she has room Sarah will get you in. Oh and payment was very easy with Venmo. Compared to tennis clinics in the Philadelphia area where I'm from, St Simons Tennis Academy is a steal for the quality of instruction and facilities. Being in vacation on Jekyll Island we thought the bike fun had ended. But no, Ross put in a new tube in half an hour and his price was very, very reasonable. Thank you Ross, you saved a chunk of our vacation fun! Great job and your show/workshop is awesome. People don't be like us, don't buy cheap Chinese junk E-bikes. Ross is selling good quality bikes for good prices. Support these local guys, they are always there for you if you need service. I have learned my lesson! The grounds are beautiful. The Tennis Center is located conveniently near the Golf Clubhouse/driving range/putting green so its easy to do a golf/tennis day and you can grab lunch at the McCormicks restaurant in the Clubhouse. The instruction is great, the pros we worked with, Victoria and Tyler were just great, super knowledgeable and experienced teachers. They are really easy to schedule with and flexible with hours. During the summer, they offer a tennis camp for kids which is so much fun for the children and they get great instruction and court time too. What a great place to spend your time on Jekyll Island!!

Many of the patrons could stand a class on gym etiquette. The staff, although nice, could stand some time in the gym. The monthly price is high and for the price it's disappointing but unless you go and joint one of the Country Clubs it's the only place on island.

On a weekend or holiday, definitely get there early or they will run out of bikes! Note that if you ride on the beach, bike must be THOROUGHLY cleaned upon return or you will incur a fee. Rental included a helmet and bike lock. We cleaned our helmets and bike handles with rubbing alcohol, and all was good. Bikes functioned well, and we did 10 miles before dark. Stopped for dinner, locked up the bikes, ate, and rode home. Made for a great day! If you didn't/couldn't bring your own bike, riding around Jekyll is worth the money. I first rode the full island perimeter with friends in the late 80s, and I never forgot it! I was 8yo and did a 20-mi ride (I was so proud of myself), and the experience captured my heart. Do it! Get some exercise and bike the island up close and personal! Make sure to hit the trails on the interior of the southern part of the island! One mile biked is equivalent to about about 400-440 steps in terms of exercise, but walking the whole island takes forever. Bike it to scope things out, and then go walk your favorite parts later.

Yelp changed the correct name from Epworth Park, which I entered when I created this listing, to an…read moreINCORRECT name, Epworth Dog Park, which is false and misleading since the municipal name is Epworth Park, and less than 1/8 of the park is dedicated dog park area, and the rest is tennis, bocce, open space, bathrooms, and parking. I've asked Yelp multiple times to change the title but they'd rather be inaccurate and misrepresent correct location names. This is a local park with several very well maintained tennis courts. There are also two bocce courts. There is a dog park in the back corner of the park. MOST of this park is made up of tennis courts. Park is free, ample parking every time we've visited. Sand fleas and biting gnats hang under the spectator benches under the trees by the courts. Bug lotion helps. Many local regulars frequent the park, and all know each other. Many tennis lessons held here, including a kids' clinic. They have bathrooms, usually open.
