People were polite, the kids were cute in their Christmas attire but the parents were almost sheepish looking at the vendors items like "We aren't here to buy anything " so I think maybe just offer the free event to the local residents and not invite (who paid) vendors to come; the community will still like it.

The gym are is large as they had a wrestling ring set up along with an entry way for the wrestlers to come into the area while being introduced. This place is big enough to have chairs all around a wrestling ring and to the wall and standing room only, (I think they had to turn people away) this was a popular event. During the art auction, the rugs were laying all over the large floor area, plus they had numerous paintings and sculptures displayed. During events, there is a kitchen area where they sell hot dogs and sodas and probably other items depending on the concession person involved. Please watch your step as you exit the building at night as the lighting is poor and the brick planter area out front is a tripping hazard as we found out during our exit, thus the check in at the ER.

You are also responsible for cleaning up and putting up tables and chairs so make sure you allot enough time for that and that you are mindful of the decor you choose (glitter).

It says it has over 10,000 square feet of newly remodeled space. It has many rooms for birthday parties. It has basketball, pickleball an indoor playroom for the kids. It offers classes for adults teenagers and children. It even had a small arcade room. The area surrounding the recreation center is beautiful. Across the street is a large lake/pond with a water fountain with a walking trail. When you pull into this area it has a tree-lined road something you just don't see anymore. The facility had plenty of parking and was very clean and well maintained. It was a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy with kids everywhere playing and enjoying the beautiful weather we had that day. I wish we had something like this in Sanford, FL. Good job Port Orange!

Oddly, lots of parks in Florida but very few with designated running areas. One thing to note is…read morethat pretty much every street has a sidewalk and a concrete running path here. I found this park by looking at Apple Maps and then zooming in to see if there was an asphalt trail. I arrived really early to run here and noticed the lights kicked on around 6AM. There is a tennis court (which is where I parked), baseball fields, football field and soccer field. The water was not turned near the bathrooms, and the bathrooms were locked. Not sure if they open up at a certain time but that's the reason for my star bump. I was happy to run the asphalt path they had. If you account for the boardwalk area on the lake, you'll get about .90 miles altogether. I did my warmup on the path and ran some outside the park on the concrete. Was able to complete some short interval training by just doing about 2.5 laps on the asphalt. It was fairly flat but you're only going to get about .4 miles of a curved running area before a transition. If you're a runner, I'd recommend coming here for any runs under 5 miles. Also, people are oblivious on the asphalt and don't stay on their side. But, be glad they have asphalt to run on!

They could easily convert to the popular pickle ball and increase some much needed revenue! Theres also an indoor fitness room that can hold large fitness classes. The school board needs to entertain the idea to let a professional organization/gym fully run this to it's potential. Look at Anastasia Fitness in St Augustine. They have a smaller location and they are thriving with memberships. They too have a pool and outdoor gym (potential at Belle Terre) Many exercise enthusiasts prefer to be in the sun while exercising!!!!! Someone on the school board-please make resolutions and let's not see this beautiful place be destroyed or closed permanently! This place was gifted by ITT many many years ago as a gift to the community and it's not being used as such. Extremely Disappointing!!!

There is sometimes swim team or lessons going on but they do not use all the lanes so I've been able to swim every time I've gone in my own lane.
