I do not leave negative reviews generally, but I thought I'd do so this time. The people at this office were very nice, but I did not appreciate the way they did business. I arrived at this office and waited 10 minutes alone in the lobby with nobody anywhere to be seen. Finally someone came and gave me paperwork to fill out and I was called back. I was told I needed a set of x-rays and a cleaning and then presented with the cost. I told the person my visit should be 100% covered, why am I being charged? She said it was for a cancer screening. I told her I did not want the cancer screening so that charge was removed. This happened again later in the visit with a medicated rinse- I was told there would be a charge of $44 for this rinse. I had to then deny that service. The problem I have is these costs were not presented to me as options. Had I not known better, I'd have paid over $100 for services I did not want. It felt like they were trying to slip services in without my knowledge in order to charge me for them. Incidentally, I ended up being charged $75 for x-rays because it had been less than a year since my last x-rays in another state. This is of course on me, but I will say every other dentist I've ever been to has verified this information before and proceeded in a way that prevented me from having to pay out-of-pocket. I will say the staff was very friendly and my teeth looked great afterward. The office is pretty old and outdated, though. read more

On my visit, the hygienist took X-rays and did a gum exam. That was Ok. When it came time to talk to the Dentist, he was not on-site we did a remote meeting on a TV. H looked at the hygienist notes and gave his prognoses. Not a great interaction. Then prior to the cleaning they wanted to upsell a bunch of products and services that were not needed or covered by insurance. Would not recommend this business. read more

Do not use Coast Dental. The company is designed to provide minimal care while maximizing their profit. As one of the few places in DeLand that accepts our dental insurance, I made a cleaning appointment with Coast. Prior to your cleaning appt., you must first have an office visit for a "consultation". The office has dental equipment that looks like it was liberated from a 1970s Soviet Republic. They take multiple digital photos of your teeth (while still charging you for film), do a "mouth cancer exam" that is not covered by insurance (3 minutes looking at your mouth with a pen light flashlight; they are already looking in your mouth - wouldn't they notice warning signs? This will cost you $70), before your consultation with a "dentist". Dentist is in quotes because you meet online with a virtual dentist via a screen! However, he must be very good because from hundreds of miles away he was able to diagnose that I needed a $700 treatment every 3 months. Then you get scheduled for an actual cleaning. Coast charges you $25 if you cancel this appointment, however they unilaterally canceled my appointment without even an apology. I'm going elsewhere for dental care and suggest that you do, as well. read more

Coast dental is not the place to go unless you plan on getting everything they want you to get before you get what you need. They don't even have dentist there! You have to get x-rays, cleanings and then you might get an appointment with a dentist. read more

HORRIBLE. If I had known, I would not have gone. I just moved to the area and went here because they accept my insurance. It was a mistake. I went to this place to get a broken tooth fixed. The place was dirty. When I arrived, the first thing they wanted to force me to do was the oral cancer test, to which I flat out said no. Today I woke up with intense tooth pain, afraid I wouldn't be able to find a dentist that would take me the day before thanksgiving..my heart and teeth where hurting. The women of CoastDental however where amazing and took me in. They made time in their fully booked and busy schedule to make sure I was taken care of and feeling amazing. They made sure that I was calm and stress free. They made sure I was well taken care of and comfortable while also getting the job done at a far supreme and fantastic level. I love love love Dr. Juma. I had been dealing with many issues for several years due to a granular disease and dying bone from taking ostio meds. My previous dentist was nice, but they just took a tooth here and a tooth there and couple of teeth another time, but had no PLAN. The first day I saw Dr. Juma I said I needed someone to take me and do everything that needs to be done. Just take control. He did just that! He is kind, he is patient, and understanding. His staff are all angels and handled my crazy self when I was in major pain. Within two weeks I had an appointment with an oral surgeon and a plan of attack. Three months later all my teeth removed that could not be saved and now have partial dentures. I actually smile at people again. They are closed now due to the COVID 19 pandemic, but I am on the list of the first appointments when he re-opens. I wish I could give them 20 stars. read more

I had a new patient appointment and cleaning with x-rays this morning. I cannot say enough about how awesome this dentist office is! It is so clean and well organized. The front desk staff was phenomenal and very welcoming, from scheduling the appointment to filling out the paperwork when I arrived. The wait was less than five minutes. The hygienist and the dentist were very professional and thorough. I have been on the search for a good dentist and I'm so happy that I finally found one!!! Do not do any dental cleaning here. Each time, I left this office with pain in my mouth. On the tray and on my bib was always blood, dental flossing was torture......I honestly thought.. well I guess the pain and the blood is normal when you get a cleaning done....I guess, they are stressed, work on commission, are not that professional and interested in their job as others.... or what ever...... But guess what?????????????????? Go to Dr. Prakash, N. Spring Garden Ave. where I just got a cleaning... Oh my lord....You will not believe it. NO PAIN !!!!!!!! NO BLOOD!!!!!!!! They took all the time in the world, a totally personal and individual care....explaining every single little detail etc... TIME IS definitely NOT MONEY in Dr Prakash office in N. Never deal with these shady people. They will promise you things in the contracts you sign, like the ability to get a refund on items within 30 days of purchase, yet when you call to request these refunds they will deny them to you. I had a night guard made earlier this year. When they cast the mold and sent it off, I later found out that many of the teeth broke off in transit, so when the night guard came back, it did not fit my teeth. I told them that I preferred to scrap the whole thing, rather than go to a different office to get it re-cast, like they suggested. I just wanted a refund for the lackluster product. I called several times about getting a refund, but each time they refused, despite the clause in their contract about the 30 day refund period. So, I disputed the charge with my credit card. When it came time for them to provide evidence to support their side of the transaction, they chose to photocopy an old contract from a half a year before I purchased the night guard, and it had nothing to do with the purchase in question. Then, when I tried again to contact them to resolve the matter - as my credit card company suggested - they ignored my attempts at communication. The office as a whole is extremely unprofessional. The clerk is rude. The ladies at the front desk are short tempered and not that friendly. The new dentist seems like a novice who doesn't appear to care about customer service or the quality of her work, judging by the fact that my mold for the mouth guard was broken and she still tried to sell me the product, as if I wouldn't notice the difference. Also, they told me I had two cavities last year, and then when I went to another dentist, I was pronounced cavity-free. Hmm. I wonder... I will never return to this office. Bottom line: only patronize this dental office if you enjoy phantom cavities, poor customer service, paying for services you didn't receive, and low-quality work. read more

I would like to recommend this dental office. From the first call to the office I was greeted by a very helpful staff. Everyone was so helpful and put me at ease. Going to the dentist is never a favorite thing to do but they never made me feel uncomfortable explaining everything that they were doing. No pain or discomfort and I left feeling wonderful. They charged $70 for an "intraoral cancer screening" that I did not authorize them to do. So my $55 for a new patient exam and xrays ended up costing $125. read more

Worst experience ever. I am young and a student, so I don't have a whole lot of money. I went in for my cleaning that I had to schedule 4 months in advance. When I show up, there was no dental hygienist, so I didn't get the cleaning. They forced me to get x-rays, instead of accepting the recent x-rays from my previous dentist and told me that it's standard, even though I've never had a dentist tell me that before. I asked around and no one I know has ever heard of that before either. Apparently that amount doubled because they didn't accurately read my plan. I would have never gotten it if I had known that it would cost double what they said. Don't come here unless you want a bill in the mail after you've already paid what they said you owe. read more

Took my daughter to get her teeth cleaned. When they called her back, they would not allow me to go with her. For me this is a red flag. Any Doctor's office not allowing a parent to attend an appointment with their minor child, I take issue with.
