I have been here at least 6 times, hoping they would improve. They are awful!! And I am an easy guy to please. Poor service! They are shady as can be about your service and pricing. They will not tell you that they added things to your procedure. Example: You'll go in for a cleaning. That's it!! Nothing else requested. They won't ask you. Would you like x-rays and a full exam? Would you like to have a protectant put on your teeth. Instead, they do it. They don't communicate except for when the bill comes due. And they want payment that immediately. They won't bill you. BTW: I have great insurance. It is normal to bill. They want CASH!! NO KIDDING!!! Shady!!! Oh! and the woman that does the cleaning. She barely speaks!!! You would think she would say, "please open"...."please close"..... NOTHING!!! IT WAS LIKE, IS THERE A TRICK TO THIS. OSMOSIS!! I am finding another dentist office! I had 4 teeth extracted, 1 being surgical if I understood correctly. The office staff was great, and the dentistry team was excellent. My dentist, Dr. Anika Gupta was fantastic! AVOID this place. As of April 2023, Aspen Dental no longer participates in any insurance. My wife & I have MetLife Dental Insurance which covers 100% of preventative care like cleanings. Because Aspen no longer participates, those costs are now out of network and out of pocket. If customers cannot change insurance in the middle of the year, dentists should not be allowed to stop accepting it in the middle of the year. It is cost prohibitive to change dentists. Other dentists want new x-rays which insurance won't cover as Aspen Dental already took one set for the year. What a scam. Its all about their profits and not your care. AVOID! read more

Came in recently, chipped my front tooth while at work on a Thursday afternoon.. was very worried I wasn't able to get my tooth repaired so I set up an appointment for Friday first thing in the morning. I showed up, filled out their form and within a timely manner, they were able to squeeze me in even though they were swamped! Everyone there treated me very well, and they did an excellent job fixing my tooth can't even tell where it chipped at. Thank you aspen for taking care of me! I'd 10/10 recommend. My husband went to aspen dental in DeLand, Fl. On 17/92 and all his upper teeth pulled got a temporary plate n at that time we were under the impression that he would get the permanent plate after his gums healed at no additional charges, when we went back they want 2500 $ for the permanent plate. Why would we pay twice for a plate? If they would have given us a clear understanding that we had to pay for the temporary n permanent plate we could have bypassed the temp for the permanent. The front desk receptionist went out of her way to be so rude it was almost comedic. She was absolutely horrible to deal with. After my X-rays I was just referred to a different dentist because they couldn't schedule me for a basic cleaning? "We are booked up into next year." 2 months later...after Aspen Dental reseated a gold crown that became dislodged whIle I was flossing... The crown was reseated with excessive cement. This made the crown too high, resulting in an abnormal bite. As a result, part of a perfectly healthy premolar tooth broke off. When I called Aspen Dental, they wanted to schedule an exam that would cost me $92. The purpose of the exam was to investigate/confirm their error in reseating the crown improperly. Treatment for correcting the crown that they reseated would be an additional charge. Also, I would be charged for fixing the broken premolar that their incompetence caused. If you ignore this review and schedule with this corporate,money-grubbing, completely unethical company, you will learn first-hand how corrupt dental care practices have become in these national dental chains. First off, the cleanings I received are great. With that said, the front end experience is terrible. Specifically, there is constant pressure to up-sell services. I recently went for a simple general cleaning but was told by the receptionist that the hygienist had recommended a deep cleaning (of course for a significant up-charge) and they would not deviate from this. I asked if they would just do the general cleaning, but was told no. I know well the condition of my teeth from my 20+ year dentist (I moved) and a simple general cleaning would have been all that was needed to maintain good dental health. So, in view of their instance that they would only do a deep cleaning, I cancelled the appointment. My experience was about as bad. I've been recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer among all the chaos tumor removal and radiation wreaked havoc on my teeth. I was charged a almost $2000 to do so called deep cleaning - and crown replaced. Needless to say I'm no longer patient. The Dr that treated me asked " when was the last time you had your teeth cleaned" I said last month... the hygienist was totally incompetent. Had a 10:30 emergency appointment that I made on Sunday because of a painful abscess tooth that wanted extracted. Got there at 10am went in at 10:30 and the proceed to give me a full set of xrays for 45 minutes. Then they put me in another waiting room for 20 minutes. Finally I got into dental chair and had some dental assistant exam all my teeth. After that it was 12 pm and took me to a desk and told me they can fix all my teeth for just over 7 thousand dollars but I can make payments. Totally in screaming pain I said I need my tooth out!! She said they were extremely busy but if I could come back at 3 pm they could squeeze me in. What?? But pay 300.00 now. I had to wait in my truck because I came from out of town because they said Sunday they would take care of me. At 2.30 they took me in and it was the most painful tooth extraction I ever had!! I will not comment on the clinical staff as I never got that far. The front desk was rude, condescending and lacking general business professionalism. When first making my appt I enquired if my insurance was taken..."it should be" was the answer. So, once burned as I was at a different Aspen location that sent me a bill for nearly $200 for services that are 100% covered I asked again before we started. This took things to a whole level as I was introduced to the office manager. She'd only say that my insurance should cover the estimated????" charges. Code for we'll figure out a way to get more from you! I had called my carrier from the office to confirm what my coverages were......still no confirmation from Aspen as to what they would charge. After being told that my appt. had lapsed (the manager had told me it was a hour block and my call was less than 10 min) I left. I know now what they do....its all about up-charging. I'm really disappointed in this place as they seemed to have it together the first time I went there in December but now my views of this office have changed. Firstly I had a root canal and new crown in December of 2023 and the endodontist there did a great job and is a really nice man. My crown was placed on permanently about three weeks or so later and that was that, they billed my insurance over $5000 for the root canal and bridge and my balance out of pocket was $2300. I went back today and was told I had a fistula and now needed another root canal and new bridge placed in the tooth right next to the one that was just treated in December. They said my out of pocket expenses would be $5700 ridiculous, where do they come up with these huge charges. I think they rip people off based on their income level which ours is good but $5700 no way. I'm going elsewhere to get a second opinion as I'm pretty upset with this organization, but I did like the endodontist there and the girls in the back. Today the front office staff looked stressed and overwhelmed and patients were upset due to long wait times and lack of staff to help answer questions. read more

My 86 yr old mother was refused medical attention. I got upset with their staff because they didn't do a complete exam. They only did a limited exam. We waited weeks for an appointment. My mom is in excruciating mouth pain. They asked us to leave without treating her for her pain. They have an ethical obligation to treat patients. It's not an easy task to transport a 86 yr old in a wheelchair. It's not the patient's fault that the staff is too sensitive. The excruciating pain my mom is in was not even considered. I am currently a patient of Aspen Dental in DeLand on 92. Last night my crown fell out, fortunately I was able to save the crown. I called their emergency number (I've never had this happen before). The service was very polite and had my information, she said the on-call doctor will return my call in 20 minutes, 30 minutes later I called again, the girl said the same thing. They never called, just left me hanging. This morning I called to make an appointment. The next available appointment is in 19 days, so I get to wait 19 days to have the crown re-glued. It feels like a part of the nerve is exposed because when I take in a deep breath, drink anything warm or hot, or drink anything cold it stings. And I get to look forward to this for 19 days. Their answering message tries to give you the impression that they care, but if this is how they show they care, I'd hate to see what they do when they don't. read more

This was the Deland office. First my husband contacted them because he had an issue. Instead of addressing it they sent him home with a printout of a very large general treatment plan. They postponed his appointments month after month when he had issues and pain. I spent hours and hours on the phone with them straightening out the overbilling charges they did. Then finally after postponing for half a year his appoint. Never contacting him, just leaving messages. (good luck getting thru on the phone.) we found another dentist who treated him immediately. I made an appointment in the hopes of getting my routine cleaning. I had never been here because we just recently moved so I had to find a new dentist here. After realizing they require a consultation and x-rays beforehand, I called ahead of my appointment to let them know that I'm pregnant and therefore won't be getting x-rays. They tried to tell me to get a waiver from my doctor so they could take x-rays and when I wouldn't agree they told me they won't clean my teeth. They also would not accept my x-Rays from my prior dentist and told me that because they hadn't taken x-rays they won't clean my teeth. I would hope that any dentist would take all health concerns of an individual patient into consideration and not risk something just to make a buck. read more

Pros: Staff is wonderful, helpful, and always checks to make sure you're doing alright. Cons: I got a permanent crown put on a back molar and it has come off three separate times in 1.5 year span. The temporary they put on me was supposed to last 2-3 weeks, but that came off 2 days after application. Now that they've ground down my molar to such an extent, it's excruciating - and I don't know why that was necessary. My first crown was put on at age 7 and lasted about 22 years without my molar being pulverized in such a way that it causes constant pain. Switching dentists immediately. On my behalf I didn't check the reviews until I was already at the place (shame on me I KNOW) I should know better. The place is nice, super high tech I would say which is never bad. They told me I needed to get some work done. They asked if I had dental insurance I said NO. Is ok if you don't because they can work with you through Dental First Financing I thought that was nice. They said I was approve I didn't get anything done that day, I told them I would call them to schedule an appointment and I did. I called them for two weeks asking if they had any availability for my days off they were full. They said they will call me and never did, but what really got me UPSET was the fact that I got a bill for the services and I have not got anything done yet, like REALLY people. I called them and asked them why I was getting a bill if I was still waiting for them to call me for an appointment. Bad Service I called that better yet silent thieves.
