My new go-to place when I have a hankerin' for chocolate peanut butter ice cream, with peanut butter sauce! Can get pricey, but a great treat every now and then. I hope they eventually open up the inside to patrons. Especially when it gets cold out. read more

Coach's Ice Cream - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Sterling Heights, Michigan

i have been going to coaches my whole life. from the time coach was actually there every time he wasn't teaching at stevenson. lately i've felt like the place is going down hill. customer service isn't always the greatest and i get that people have bad days. rudeness isn't the problem, it's the lack of organization. doesn't seem like there are enough people working at a time and they don't have assigned things to do so everyone is running like a chicken with its head cut off. and to see the store continue to show more signs of health code violations! i have managed restaurants my whole life, and to see open toed shoes, workers petting the animals and then going back to work, hair is down for the girls almost always, and i never ever see anyone wearing a pair of gloves. to me it seems like coaches son (who i'm assuming runs the store most of the time now) is a teenager working with teenagers. since the inside was closed the appearance of the entire place continues to go down. almost like there is no passion or love behind the place. i love the ice cream and i will keep going there until i am too grossed out but i think they definitely need more of a leadership role there who knows how to deal with the health code!! read more

the ice cream melted real fast and the male working there was racist and the ice cream prices were through the roof

I've been going to Coach's Ice Cream for years and love getting ice cream here! The workers are always fast at getting our orders through the window. There are so many menu items, but a classic vanilla or cookies n cream are usually my go-tos and never fail. read more

My favorite local/small town ice cream place near where I live! I have been going here since I was little and other than a few changes it's been consistent. I've had several of my birthday cakes from here growing up because I prefer ice cream cake. It's always been great and made by the same sweet lady! There's so many options to choose from some of which are better than others but that's up to your discretion. I am personally a classic cup/cone person. The workers are always nice especially when it's the coach himself. read more

Really cute spot with a little walk up window with a doorbell haha. I've lived in Sterling Heights my whole life but have only been here once when I was younger and now that I've tried it again, no clue why! It's great here! I love blue moon ice cream and this place's was amazing. The flavor was so strong and the food coloring was not too much, I bought a pint to take home. I love that the ice cream was on the softer side even when I took the pint home, left in the freezer overnight and reopened it! The employees working were sweet and really fast. read more

The owner is nothing but rude and there was hair in my icecream do not recommend would rather go to Dairy Queen

Coach's is by far, the best local ice cream shop! The owner is super friendly and his mom makes the ice cream cakes. She is so helpful and accommodating. I've been going to Coach's for years now and I love that they are open late. I'm a chocolate, soft-serve with peanuts kind of customer and it's always been solid. I've ordered their hard ice cream for my parents and they LOVED it. It was fresh and not freezer-burned or anything. I've also ordered birthday cakes, which have always turned out PERFECT. I prefer Coach's to any other ice cream spot, HANDS DOWN. read more

This place passed out $1 OFF coupons to all 5 of my kids at the 2019 Memorial Day Parade. This ice cream place is nowhere near where we stay. We came all the way here for a sweet treat today, looking forward to using our $1 off coupons. There is a giant sign posted inside stating only one coupon per family. What!?!? Only $1 off coupon per family!? Nowhere on the coupon does it state only one coupon per family. Had I known that was the case I wouldn't of even told my kids to take the handed out coupons at the parade. Not only that but the lady who might have asked at the counter was nothing less than a rude and snarky. I stated that we drove quite a distance to come here, but that didn't phase her so I told her she will not be getting my business ever again. She didn't seem to mind that comment either. The place was tiny and cramped on the inside and only one bench for sitting outside. Doesn't seem very family friendly anyways. read more

We moved to the neighborhood just over seven months ago. Naturally, we wanted to try the neighborhood ice cream shop. I eagerly decided to go there tonight with my husband. They have a really nice walk up window which was cool. I got coconut chocolate almond ice cream in a cup and my husband got chocolate in a cup. They were both unfortunately freezer burned. It was also Hershey ice cream. Not really too unique or even local.my husband said it was like going to Baskin Robbins. I figured this place would be great because they've got good reviews all over the place. I don't get why. They definitely need to get rid of the old ice cream. read more

Discovered this place two years ago and have lived 5 minutes away for 33 years. Who knew--obviously not me. Great owner, clean store, great service, great prices and best of all cold, cold ice cream (unlike a very popular overrated custard place). Coach's has a proprietary process of injecting hot fudge inside their custard twist cones. Oh my! So good. We come here at least once a week during warm weather, but they're open all year. Don't pass this great place by as I did for so many years. read more

I love this place. Always good service and ice cream. Me and my boyfriend come here all the time! Super popular in the area. They make you feel so at home and like regular customers! So many options to choose from, and different things to try! 10/10 place to visit if you are in the area. read more

So good! Great selection of ice cream and great service. Has both hand dipped ice cream and soft serve

Our Elementary school booked their Kona Ice truck for our last day of school Family Resource Fair. First they were late so when called were told ETA about 15-20 minutes had to get a new blade. After that time we called again & were told almost there. Then NEVER showed up and no phone call from them either. Had over 200 disappointed children. read more

Friendly staff, great selection. It's your basic neighborhood ice cream place but we love it!

Absolutely amazing. They carry Hershey's ice cream and it's delicious. They have a variety of different ice cream based treats and tons of flavors to be added to soft serve. Everyone who works there is incredibly nice and service is very quick. I would recommend this place to anyone. I grab ice cream from here at least once per week. read more

Coach's is best ice cream store around, they have amazing ice cream flavors and soft serve, along with awesome toppings and it's all at reasonable prices. I come here DAILY, I absolutely love this place but not the workers so much. The girls who work there are very rude.. they seem to be in a rush all the time to get us customers out of the door. Besides the rushing of ice cream decisions and odd stares from staff while trying to decide what ice cream flavor I want; I love this place. I just wish the staff would back off a bit and let me take my dang time. read more

I love coachs even though I get stomach pains whenever I have ice cream I still love it

Great Ice cream, nice people! They only use the best ice cream and toppings. You'll leave with a Smile on your face.:-)

The "owner" (I'm guessing?) is a real piece of work. If you like to talk circles he'd be the one to do it with. Apparently the Sterling Heights baseball league gives out these coupons for free cones. They are meant for player of the game. In this guys words.. players that catch the ball, try hard, run fast to the base, etc. So since the coach on my son's team recognized all of the players instead of picking one per game they couldn't use their coupons. Only 7 of the kids showed up for ice cream but since our "whole team" was there they refused to accept them. First because he couldn't take them all at once because it wasn't good for their business, then because they are supposed to only receive one per game, then because he can't have the line out the door, the list goes on... After every rebuttal he totally contradicted himself which led our conversation in circles. Even though for all he knew the kids could have each earned them in the 6 games we played prior but he says that didn't happen because the coach was there. So it was about the money but then it wasn't because he gives out free cones all the time. As if It would have made a difference money wise anyways considering the coupon is worth the same amount whether it's all used in one day or spread out. Not to 7 kids at a time though because there could be a line out their door and drive other customers away.. which there wasn't. It should be for kids who do good and try their best during the games... which all of the kids do. Then it was the coach just trying to get free ice cream out them... which isn't that what the coupons are for? We go there twice a week and sometimes in between but he doesn't care that we will no longer give them our business because he doesn't need customers like me because of my opinion. Don't worry buddy, like I stated in the first place, I won't be back. You won't ever have to worry about that. There is absolutely nothing special about your ice cream other than it was on our way home. read more
