On my way to Hood River I always make a point to stop in since handbags are definitely my thing, along with any accessories. Coach is an affordable "designer" bag so it's usually the first designer bag for many women. The Coach Outlet offers a lower quality bag than their flagship stores so know this going in. They are good bags, great when you want a spot of color and don't want to spend more than $100-$150. They mark the prices WAAAAAY up then offer 50-70% off. The is a very old and everyone-has-caught-onto-this "sales" technique. It's so 20 years ago! No one really thinks you are giving them 70% off on every single bag on some random Monday in the summer. Just put the darn price on the bag, and if you must, do a "compared to" as a reference. The constant changing of prices and discounts to arrive at the same net price is so annoying!! To demonstrate how complex it is, all of the salespeople carry calculators. When was the last time you went to a store and to determine the price of an item the staff had to figure it on a calculator? That is just ridiculous. The only real bargain to be found is when you find a purse that has the same 50-70% that every handbag in the store is receiving that day and it has an additional 20% off because it's on clearance. That's a deal! It's the only way I will buy anything here because these bags are a lower quality leather and craftsmanship, so price for me has to equal "worth what paid for." Once in a great while there will be a bag or two from the flagship store, think Coach at Pioneer Square, and it has the same 50-70% discount. That is a real bargain. On my last stop in I bought a cream colored crossbody bag with some crystal Daisys that gave it personality, making it stand out from the traditional conservative bags Coach is known for. Supposedly it was $398 which was NEVER believable or a reality. After 70% and another 20% the bag cost about $92, which I felt was a fair price and the bag is now mine. The only thing more annoying than the insultingly jacked up prices is the annoying salespeople who swarm when you enter. - Hi, have you ever been here before? - Here's a coupon for 70% off everything in the store. - Are you looking for something specific? - Can I help you find something? - Did you know we are having a sale? Noooooooo! Make it stop!!!!!!! I don't need a coupon, everything is drastically on sale every single day! Let me wander, if I need help I will ask. Other reviewers state they can't find customer service help. Let's trade places! I hate being hounded when I shop or constantly told how great the sale is when it's a gimmick. Rant over. I'll continue to pop in a few times a year, as I walk in the store I will politely state that I don't need help, and rush pass the door greeters. I'll shop at my pace seeking out the real deals. And every now and then will come home with a treasure. Get on their email list and when they open up their online site a few times a year, you can shop in peace and know the prices right up front! read more

Their customer service is very good. And because of Oregon doesn't charge sales taxes, many customers from other states would come here for shipping and pay cash. They can be pretty busy, especially during the holiday season. The price is even lower than their outlet website. So I would definitely recommend it here if you happen to visit Portland read more

The customer service here is great. I've been in a few times over the year and I've had a great experience with the sales team every time. They are friendly, helpful, and give you space to shop. Liesel has been especially helpful when I've come in a couple times with exchanges. She's been awesome at helping me find a better fit for my style and what I'm looking for. I am continually amazed by how wonderful the staff is. I would call out the name/s of the helpful staff, but everyone in the store went above and beyond in answering my questions and helping getting me a new purse at no additional charge! Wow, just wow! Always a great customer service experience here. I just brought my Mom in to buy her first non-hand-me-down purse and Lorie was incredibly helpful at not only showing us all relevant styles for the size and preferences she has, but she also made sure to check for all colors available in the back, and was all around key to us finding a winner. Then Daphne helped me find the best small purse and showed me all of her favorite options and why. Both ladies were incredibly helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable of the different lines and product details. Oh, and we bought two purses, a limited edition pac man wristlet, and a wallet for $225. My mom was nervous about things being too expensive the whole time and she was not convinced at the end that it was an accurate total it was so low. read more

Coach a phenomenon? I don't know where you've been for the last 72 years or if you've been living under a rock but Coach is purely a timeless product. From the purses to their leather ware, their designs are suitable for all ages and styles. When writing a review the most important part about an overall critique of a business is that you are unbiased of your review and cover every angle regarding price, product, and service the company provides. I've been coming to this location since it first opened and I can tell you that their service is nothing short of the word spectacular. These people surely are amazing when it comes to product knowledge to customer service. Every time I come in here its like going to Ikea. You never leave here without purchasing something. As it is an outlet the discounts are very deep and the product line here is very current and definitely not "B" product. They stand behind everything they sell and if you have any issue simply bring it back and they are more than happy to make you their top priority. I love coming to this location not just because it is closer to my house but the service here definitely stands out between all the local Coach stores in the Portland metro area. Being a fashion minded individual, I'm not your average guy when it comes to being fashionable. I have more designer wallets than most women have designer purses. Over the course of the last few years I have found myself switching my regular wallets in my rotation to Coach not because its cheaper but I have found that their style, durability, size, and timeless appearance go rather well with my wardrobe. I no longer use my Louis Vuitton, Prada, or my prize Fendi wallet because I feel their designs, size, and durability do not stand the test of time like my Coach products I own. Since then I have also added shoes, belts, and some home products that I have bought from Coach as well and I love them! Overall, I find each and every experience here has been splendid. The associates here are fantastic, the product is amazingly great, and the price is so affordable that I am blown away that there are not more people coming in for these amazing deals! I just don't understand the Coach phenomenon. This was probably the busiest store at this mall. Even with their markdowns on bags, and a special they were running today (50% of all handbags), I would never buy one - even if I was a purse kind of girl. There are too many other quality, affordable options for exponentially less prices. The men's section had some nice wallets, but I don't think I could ever pay greater than $50 for a wallet. They also sold iPad covers, and again, why would I pay $60 for a Coach iPad Cover - I don't get it. Especially one of them, which just looked plain brown with a small "Coach" lettering at the bottom of the front. If someone gifted me something from Coach I would likely not turn it down (depending on the item and my usefulness for it - several items here just wouldn't be useful to me), but I will only come here if I'm shopping with friends who want to be here. Three weeks ago we went to the outlet store in Maui and bought a purse, two wallets, an umbrella and a pair of shoes for my mother. She flew in the day before yesterday and we gave her the gifts. The shoes didn't fit and she said she only needed one wallet. Well, here's how yesterday went... We went to the Columbia Gorge/ Troutdale store and were met by the wonderful staff. Every one of them were gracious, friendly and professional. THEN THE MANAGER STARTED LOOMING LARGE!!!! There is a big dour scowling taskmaster with giant plugs in his ear-lobes who was so focused on drilling and oppressing the entire staff (and intimidating customers) that it made me never want to return to that location ever again!!! He would pop around EVERY corner, nook and cranny and just stop and glare at you; Very creepy and uncomfortable. He took Ing (not sure of spelling) away and gave her a thorough dissertation on her assigned break and lunch schedule. He further went on to chastise her about covering another employee's break, which was coming up soon. He took her away from my mother, who was trying on shoes, and told her that she was to go away because "it isn't fair" for some reason or another. Two or three employees helped us and he was just drilling every one of them. Some of the staff seem genuinely nervous and fearful of his methods. One of the girls who had waited on us earlier became very timid and seemed afraid to talk to us again, when we approached her later, after she had been ushered away from us. My other half stated he wanted to get out of there and walked outside not to return. We bought a pair of shoes and a messenger bag. And l asked the really sweet clerk who rang our sale to get a manager. A really nice young man came over and I explained that we had just moved to the area and this was our second visit to that location and it would be our last. I told him how the creepy big guy made us feel... Then, and this is really hard for me..., my sweet, religious and elderly mother said this about when she was sitting and being fitted for a pair of shoes..."He kept watching me and making me feel like I was going to do something wrong. So, I kept my sweater closed and kept my hands in plain sight so he could see that I wasn't going to take anything." I wasn't aware that she was being made to feel that way until she said that to him. So, I asked the young man, what if this was your mother and I had just made her feel that way? How would that affect you? I went on to tell him that, after being there abut :40 min, if I were an employee there, I'd walk out today. I also told him that if I were his district manager I would take him out of that store for retraining. I told him, as customers, we should have never have heard him drilling and ordering around the staff and that we shouldn't know any of the workings of the departments, schedules and other problems. I let him know that, if he hated his staff so much he should take them in the back room to torment and oppress them and not do it on the sales floor. Management-101 should make it obvious to anyone that HE was not fit for management. So, I told him that the guy should spend some time at upscale boutiques so he could observe how high-end managers act and mirror that behavior if he'd never experienced it before. I said this isn't Target or Walmart (I don't even think managers act like that there either). The young man was supportive. But, the two are in a lateral position. So, he could really not exact any change in the creepy guy's management style. Would you be back after that experience?!? 5-stars for the rest of the staff; 0-for the creepy drill-Sargent guy. So, I'm giving a generous 2-stars for this visit. read more

Hailey is so amazing This is not the first time interacting with her... last time I walked in she greeted me and she informed me that there was a wallet that matched my purse , when she finally found it - I fell I love. Hailey is very personable and helpful she pays attention to detail and she leaves a big impact on her customers - when I was with her several customers were happy to see her- she is very friendly and customer service oriented and makes our shopping experience fun and looking forward to several visits to this store. If you get a gift you have 60 days from the purchase. That means if someone buys you something a month ahead of time, 30 days! No exceptions! Racist employees and Unwelcoming place to shop! I went into this store looking for a gift for my mom, however, I walked out empty handed because of how horrible their customer service was. When I walked in there were two sales associates standing at the entrance and as soon as I walked in they pretended to be in a conversation, but right behind me was a white lady, right away they both welcomed her and asked if she needed any help. As to me, they pretended as if I didn't exist, no one asked if I needed anything and when I asked one of them they said "we'll be right back" and 10 minutes later nothing. They were not busy at all. It's like you work in an outlet stores selling discounted bags to people, so you think you're better and should be judgmental and even racist as to who you're going welcome into your store, please! The only reason why I had even considered shopping at this location instead of going downtown Portland was because it's closer to my house. A true waste of time. read more

I have bought SEVERAL Coach bags, I pay top dollar for their name and their quality. I have a problem with this stores service. I have an expensive wristlet with a VINYL strap. Of course the strap wears lout long before the bag. I spoke to a store employee and she told me that if I brought it in, they would send it for repair and put a new strap on it for $15. I returned with my bag and a different store employee, then a manager, tell me that I would need to buy a new bag. They would not even send it in to the company and asked because if they did, they would have to charge me for shipping and handling both ways, and the company would just keep my bag and send me a certificate t purchase something else at 50% off! Poor poor customer service. I went up to where u stand in line to be helped. No customer was waiting. Two sales associates behind the counter talking to each other and completely ignoring me. I just stared at them to get their attention. Finally the bald gay fat man with a bunch of tattoos acknowledged me. I wanted to exchange a purse that I got for Christmas and it was within the 50 days. Apparently my purse wasn't on the receipt and he told me I couldn't do it. I was like what?! Are you sure your looking at it correctly. This was surprising to me especially when my dad was the one that gave me this receipt and made the purchase. They have rude customer service. I hate coach. When coming into coach the staff was friendly and great and made sure I was comfortable with choosing a gift! Although I didn't need help they were helpful. It wasn't until I went to checkout a problem occurred . my customer service rep who wasAsian decent was very rushful. She did not give me time to finish answering her questions . I shopped at coach many of times at different locations and I know that I already had an account she refused to look me up by email and I had to create a new account! All she wanted was zip code! Second I asked for a box and she grabbed me the second biggest one which she knew and I knew wouldn't fit! I knew they had a larger size box and she still wouldn't give it to me! Next I asked for tissue paper and she grabbed that. When she left I asked another associate for a box and she actually grabbed the biggest box! looked mad because I got a box as if she didn't want to give me the box!
