She then said the situation was "different" because I paid through PayPal. When I asked how I could return the items, she said she needed to see the physical card--then changed her explanation and asked to see my PayPal account. After I showed her the online receipt showing the pictures of what I bought, plus my PayPal account as she requested, she changed her narrative again, saying that each item had to be returned separately. This tells me that either she had no clue what she was doing or the company policy is that deceiving. As I mentioned, this is not the first time I've had trouble returning a PayPal purchase here. We spent over 30 minutes trying to return 3 blouses, ( we were finally able to return them)--all while standing in a store with the A/C turned off in the middle of a hot Miami summer. I feel an outfit is incomplete without the proper accessories, and even a drab outfit can suddenly become noticeable and appealing with the proper accessories. For example, a black dress with leopard print shoes (or a scarf), some gold statement earrings, and a nice pair of sunglasses suddenly looks timeless. At the same time, I can put my artistic tendencies on display and go with something a little more eccentric, depending on my outfit. I have jewelry in almost every color of the rainbow -- probably over 100 sets (don't judge, some women collect shoes, I collect costume jewelry), and yet I still find myself sometimes needing a new necklace in that lime green shade, because the mint green shade and the forest green shade will not do, because it is not a match. Unfortunately, Claire's seems more aimed at a younger audience, so I guess you can say I outgrew them. I needed something a little more sophisticated than peace sign necklaces in rainbow colors, and happy faces, something that could transition to an elegant, professional look as well. In the meantime, I relied on many Chinese costume jewelry purchases on eBay. Problem is, pictures are not always accurate, and cannot convey quality, so while the price may be right, you may end up with something that doesn't last very long, or looks like it didn't cost much. I don't want to deal with the pain of going to Macy's or some other retail chain that is going to either be too expensive, limited in its options, or cause me to waste my time foraging in clearance racks, bowls, baskets, and what-have-you. I just want to walk in, and walk out, without spending half my day in a store (no, I do not enjoy shopping, see, not all women do). Time is money, my time is precious...you know what I mean. And that is how, a store like Charming Charlie comes to the rescue. This store is perfectly organized, and color-coded! You can find what you're looking for within minutes. Want rosegold? There is a rosegold rack. Do you want something red? There is a rack for that too -- not just that, but you're not only limited to jewelry, or a specific shade of red. They also have shoes, dresses, tops, purses (and some are beautiful and look a lot pricier than they are), rings, bracelets, hats, scarves...Can you tell I am really fond of this place? I bought a new iced lemon top and purse. I submitted the purse to a test -- my sister works in fine clothing and when I asked her how much she thought the purse cost, she said "$100." Nope, it was $20. I think I may have converted her to Charming Charlie's as well. At the very least, her interest was piqued. I wonder if they are hiring...I'd love to make some extra cash and get some discounts on their accessories...send me a message.

I want to clarify that I have nothing against people speaking languages other than English; in fact, I speak a couple of languages myself. While I don't speak Spanish fluently, I do understand a little of it. However, when customers shop at a national retail chain like Target, employees need to provide customer service to everyone, regardless of the language they speak. It was disappointing to see some workers walk past customers and ignore those who didn't speak Spanish. If you are not willing to assist customers who don't share your native language, then working at Target or any national retail store may not be the best fit for you.
