The associates are very helpful & nice even when the store got very hectic because of so many customers shoving and loud kids screaming & running around. The selection of bags is hit or miss. I came here to exchange a bag & wallet and it still took forever because of the long line at the register. There's also a line outside the store and they only let 10 people enter the store every 15-20 min. I also noticed they added a "Coach for Men" right next door which had no entrance line and was not busy at all. This place is a freaking zoo! Great Mall is already crazy as is but the Coach Factory store!? It was like an amusement park where you had to stand in line to wait for people to come out. Which I do appreciate because you don't want to have too many people in the store. It's funny because the older Asian ladies were cutting in front of the line and getting yelled and of course pretending like they had no idea what they were doing. When I went it was 50% handbags which is a huge discount. They have crazy deals- it'll be like 50% on top of 20%, etc. Unfortunately I didn't find anything that I liked but that doesn't mean I won't stop by when I'm in the mood again. I've had no problems at this store. Last time I was here was many years ago and the styles seem to have changed. No more signature bags, just all plain leather bags pretty much. I like the canvas signature logo bags personally but I did find a cute wallet that was retailed at $250 that I got for $70 so overall the store does have great deals. I went on a Friday early afternoon so there was no line outside, and not that many people inside. Except for the hoarding rude crowd at the clearance section lol. Great customer service. You would think the people who work here would be big grumps from all the people who come in, but nope. They have a great selection of items, and I love the fact that they carry signature items. I visited a Coach outlet years back, and they did not carry signature purses. The store was well organized both times I visited. This definitely makes it easier to shop! The first time I visited the shop it was after work on a weekday, and there were quite a few shoppers in the store. I came again on a Sunday afternoon to purchase an item I saw on my previous visit, and there was a line to get into the store! It didn't take too long to get in, but the store was filled with shoppers, and the item I wanted was gone! There were a whole bunch just two days earlier! This review is for the customer service I received from Janet, one of the Managers at Coach. Years ago I received a coupon that entitled to me a generous discount since Coach was unable to fix one of my bags. I called into Customer Care before I went into the Coach Milpitas store to be sure the coupon was still valid and that I am able to use it at that store. Fast forward, somehow things weren't going as easy as Customer Care said, we went back and forth trying to understand each other, and I was about to give up. Things just didn't make sense or did it seem fair. But Janet was there and she was so very kind, understanding, and patient. She even spoke with customer care of the phone for us trying to understand the situation. Regardless of what they said, she was still able to honor the coupon, and the whole time, she gave STELLAR customer service. Please, when you go to this store, ask for her. I've seen and heard how the other workers treat their customers since I spent a while in that store during this situation and it's not pretty. But you definitely won't go through that Janet!! 30 off additional off the sale price between 50-75% off! That's the reason why there is a long mad line to get in. We walked by and there was no line and dropped in. It was a fluke. 5 minutes after there was a long line outside just to get in. They hand you the additional 30% off at the door. Wow! The staff are really helpful. They move fast and will get you what you need in a speedy fashion. I'm liking the service and the price! What is there not to like? We ended up with two pairs of bags. It would've cost us $600+ without the discount. We ended up with less than $200 in the end. Score! Now if I could just duplicate the exact moment that there is no line outside...:) read more

Okay, admittedly...Coach used to be a weakness of mine -- the only purses I carried. Since the economic downturn, I had since cured myself of that habit. It was an extravagance that I couldn't afford to indulge in on a regular basis. Today's deals were too hard to hold back on -- 30% off total purchase. An envelope wallet for $76.30 (outlet price $109, retail $218) and a medium-sized wallet for $56 (outlet price $108, retail $188) -- pricing on the same level as Guess wallets, but Coach merchandise has far superior material and design. One might say their stuff is overpriced, but my wallet of 5+ years held up pretty well, with very little obvious wear and tear. It is very true what one reviewer mentioned how there are a lot of Asian shoppers. And they're usually purchasing an obscene amount of handbags. The hoard of shoppers must have been so overwhelming to employees that they had set up ropes outside for people to line up for going inside! The wait for customer service was about 15+ minutes. It was nice to have a Coach employee help calculate how much your items are after the many discounts for those who are budget-conscious. Now, that's service. read more

Sergio and Gretchen were accommodating, helped me look for and through many bags and were extremely patient. This store at the holidays... I'm not sure who planned their cashier logistics, but a redo is absolutely in order. While I'm fine with long lines this time of year the strategy for how lines are organized should make sense. Having returns in the same line as people buying 10 plus items and only having two cashiers, while the 10 items or less line has four people is nonsensical. If nothing else a three line system makes sense since they have the room for it. Staying clear of here until the holidays are over. read more

I've been here twice and have had to wait 10+ minutes for service (with no one in front of me in line) both times. The staff is really slow and seems totally unconcerned with efficiency. They're not particularly friendly, either. That being said, I got an amazing deal here, so it's worth coming for the substantial discount. If I could put 0 stars I would. This is one of the worst coach outlets I've ever been to. Workers are slow, managers are rude and condescending (specifically Marco) and the customer satisfaction level isn't in their radar at all. And after politely asking the managers why it was taking a crew of 15+ so long with the line, I was answered by a snarky manager followed by more crew in the back giving me dirty looks and gossiping. Trust me, I don't go around to different stores complaining about the workers. I work in retail myself therefore I know what it takes to keep customer satisfaction above standards. WOO HOO for my 100th review. Came here with a friend on a Sunday and MAN did we wish we had come another day. The store was packed, not to mention we had to wait in line to even get in and it took us at least 15-20 mins just outside. Once we got inside, we really didn't like much that they had to offer, the sales lady told us that they NEVER get the new C's and we should go to the full price store if we wanted those products. It was weird because we didn't even ask about the new C's, I guess she saw the purse I was carrying with the new C's (yes from the full priced store) and assumed that's what we were looking for; needless to say, she wasn't very helpful. What kind of business operation is this? I thought they are corporate and should have a standard to provide quality service to their customers. Today: The lady spent 30 mins inside the store while I waited for her to finish picking out stuff. We waited about 10 mins in line to make the purchase. The cashier asked me, "did anyone help you today?" I promptly said, "no." She said, oh... "I'm sorry about that!" Then went along to ring my items up. After the whole thing, I asked if she can give me two boxes for the items and 1 more bag so I can give the gift away. She said, "I can give you 2 boxes for the items, but we don't give extra bags!" WHAT THE F***?! I thought.... So you asked me if I was helped, I didn't get help. All I ask for you is to give me 1 extra shopping bag so I can gift your brand. This is literally advertising your company as well. What's so hard about this? You give 70% off on the handbags and make at least 5-10x the profit, but you can't give ONE shopping bag? What's the cost on the shopping bag? 10cents? Make one happy customer! Anyways, I asked nicely again, cashier started to be annoyed and said we dont' give extra bag. "What don't you understand?" Imagine yourself being in a jungle with a bunch of Vietnamese and Chinese ladies, but instead of fighting to survive you're fighting for Coach bags. If you don't want to wait in line outside of the Coach Outlet store and have to deal with all the crazy Asian ladies I highly recommend coming to shop on a weekday when it's less busy or another Coach Outlet. I have NEVER had to wait outside of a Coach Outlet just to get inside to shop anywhere besides here. It's ridiculous how crazy this store can get. The sales associates work hard to keep the store tidy and accommodate customers. The deals are good which is why so many people choose to shop here plus it's a convenient location. They do limit you to only being able to purchase 10 items at a time and only 5 of those items can be Signature Coach items meaning anything with C's all over it. Apparently their grand opening was on August 7th, so let's give it a few months to get a lil' messier. I recognized one of the employees as one who worked at the Gilroy branch [the tall blonde one.] I saved 60% off MSRP on my purchase. AND I didn't have to make the drive all the way to Gilroy... Not the biggest fan of Coach, but I don't mind getting things from here if they have something decent... Walked in, and there was a 50% sale on select styles. My friend insisted we come here and check it out, since I did not believe her when she told me a Coach outlet had opened in Great Mall. It was a good day - since we had just come from sushi dinner w/ our significant others, and we each made out with at least one thing to make the trek worth while. [I hate going to Great Mall, unless there is a real need to do so...] She made out w/ a clutch for $35 and a book tote purse for $100. I made out with a checkbook wallet for $80. The sales people in here are extremely helpful and friendly, but I do agree it's like a feeding frenzy in here during sales. It's as though when I pick something up to look at, another woman takes notice to see if I'll put it down for her to snatch up when my back is turned. I put down my checkbook wallet for just a second to reconsider, and another woman picked it up! I was still standing there in front of the item, and was STILL STARING AT IT! Sheesh... Thank goodness I was able to find the last one in store, or else, there would have been repercussions... heh. What can I say, my wife is "Super Happy" to find the coach outlet store near our home. I guess that will be stopping at the store whenever we are at the Great Mall, which is near our home. When we got into the store, which did not have crowd control like the Gilroy store, today, but did have the lines ready for it. We were immediately greeted by a nice and cheerful clerk in the front and handed a 20% off coupon - great marketing on their part. Prices seemed great for the "Coach" items. This being an outlet store, prices were great compared to the full-price store at Newpark Mall. The store was full but the crowd was manageable. Immediately, my wife when through the store looking at all of the offerings and there were many! She looked at some nice looking Coach tennis shoes and tried to find her size but could not. Too bad, she really wanted those shoes. We did ask the clerks for help in locating the right size but they tried and could not find the. They did try but it was not meant to be. Great service on their part despite it being crowded in the store! After looking through the other items: purses, clutches, handbags, etc., she decided to call it an experience and hope to find something the next time, which will be soon according to her. It was fun to go shopping with my wife at the store but I was disappointed that she did not get her beloved Coach shoes. However, there is the next trip to look forward to! read more

Rude customer service and unhelpful sales associates. I was trying to pick some wallets for my friends as gifts. A male sales associate stood by the wallet section, flirting to another female coworker, completely ignoring the fact that he was blocking customers' way to do the shopping. I asked him nicely to excuse me so I could reach the item I wanted. Without trying to offer any help, or even taking a look at me, he just moved over some room, continuing his conversation with his coworker. I didn't care too much about this already negative shopping experience until I encountered the worst and the rudest cashier at check out. I purchased 2 wallets and planned to give them to 2 friends so I asked the cashier if she could give me 2 boxes and 1 extra bag. She replied in a cold tone "I can give you 2 boxes and 1 bag." I was a bit pissed when she replied in that unfriendly tone, so I told her if I check out separately, you will still have to give me another bag. And she replied, still in that cold, emotionless tone "I will still just give you one bag." I asked why and she replied that they didn't have enough bags, and that was why she gave me two boxes. Seriously? She made the 2 boxes she gave me sound like some huge favors that I should just take and appreciate. That was just rude and humiliating. I didn't want to argue with her at the spot so I just walked away with my purchase. But, after this experience, I don't think I will walk in to this store ever, and I believe many customers felt the same way. The same situation would be completely different if the cashier could put on some smiles and explain their "paper bag crisis" nicely to customers. At the time I went, there was a line, but we waited no more than 2 minutes to get in. It was a zoo in there. They have an express lane for non-addicts purchasing 3 items or less. Which is kind of convenient I guess. I asked for a giftbox, and when I got home, I realized that the stupid cashier lady gave me a bottom - but not the top! WTF? what am I supposed to do with this ish? This is my effort to document when the Coach Factory Store have new shipments so that everyone can head out to the store on that particular day. So I'll keep update this post as time goes. 12/18/2009 - 12/27/2009 - Had additional 20% off all items. 12/28/2009 - 01/03/2010 - The additional 20% was still on. * Christmas Day - closed. * Boxing Day/the day after christmas - they opened at 8 am. They will have new stuff from the REGULAR store in the factory store. So check it out. * 12/27/2009 (Sun) - Website said the mall opened at 11 am - 8 pm. I noticed the store opened a lot earlier than advertised because when I got there, there were many people already queueing outside the store and in the store. I supposed to opened either at 8 or 9 am instead. Here's the price range of items based on my observation. Like most others who have reviewed, their items are at least 50% off MSRP price and they carry many regular/basic designs that last longer/do not go out of style. * Handbags - Generally nothing is more than $150 before tax. It does not matter what material the bag is made of (leather or signature fabric) they are all priced the same. * Wallets - Nothing is more than $100 * Wristlet - Not more than $50 * Scarf - Not more than $40 * Belt, Umbrella - Not more than $40 One thing not so good about this place is that you have to wait outside the store in a long queue before you are allowed to go in especially during holiday season. This is their way to control the number of people inside the store. Additionally, you never know what they will get. They have new shipment everyday and they never know when they will have promotion going. Also Coach has a very limited men selection. Also if you see something you like, just grab it because the stock run out really fast considering hundreds if not thousands of people frequent this store everyday. As for the return policy, they have the GREATEST return policy. Unlimited time for return as long as the item is unused with the price tag attached. Regular Coach store item can be returned to factory Coach as well. However, factory store item when returned to regular store can only be given a store credit and no full refund. Okay. So today (01/08/2010) i went to the store again to exchange some of the stuff to other colors. I got the items when they had the additional 20% off. When I got to the counter, I was told I had to pay for the difference because I got the item for additional 20% and now they didn't have that and I was like WTF!!! Your SA even told me to purchase the item now if I kinda like it (or not) so that I can keep this price and come back to exchange for another color at different times and they will honor it. Where the hell on the receipt is written that I have to pay for the difference for the same item (in different colors) when I exchange it? The cashier went ahead and asked the manager and the manager said they will honor the 20%. It doesn't make sense to me they had to bill me for the difference (if they did). If they did, I will return all the stuff. What's the point? You don't make any money when the customer return the item. If you honor the price, I will still keep the item. This is one of the many things I don't like about Coach Factory at Milpitas. What's right and what's wrong? Got an item during the sales with additional 20% and when I came back to exchange I have to pay for the difference? Tell me that's right. As a customer, I totally think that's a bullSH@$. I'm Asian and I must say, I completely understand the stereotypical response which is to form a shopper line in order to control the outrageous stampede of Asian bargain shoppers. A tip to ladies who encounter crazy Asian ladies who shoves and pushes you: Turn around and say to them in a VERY firm and clear tone: "Please excuse yourself and check your manners!!" I am 5'8 and obviously can hold my own so I have no problem when I encounter rude Asian shoppers. You just gotta be blunt and tell it like it is. With that being said, here is the review: My aunt decided to take our elderly grandmother to Great Mall one weekday about 3 months ago... I've been meaning to write this review btw. If you have seen my previous review then you'll know to NEVER, AND I MEAN IT- NEVER come here on a weekend. You'll thank me. Long story short, grandmother is old and she was accompanied by my aunt. There were LESS THAN FIVE people inside the store but they decided to block my grandmother out of the store when she arrived with my aunt. (They let the first 5 go and blocked her when she arrived.) Perhaps she did not look like she was going to drop $$$ (discrimination!) so they made her wait which was completely unnecessary. (And I repeat, BECAUSE THERE WERE LESS THAN 5 CUSTOMERS in the entire coach store!) She's is an elderly woman but I can certainly understand if they needed to control traffic perhaps to limit shoplifters IF THE STORE IS TOO CROWDED. BUT! If there are LESS THAN FIVE customers in the store, you do not need to block out potential customers! Grandmother was VERY angry. Told me her experience over and over again. She probably doesn't even know what Yelp is, but here I am writing her experience for her. I have personally witnessed this outrageous treatment to their own clients and I refuse to wait in line like second class citizens. THIS IS NOT THE DMV people. I should never have to wait in line if I am the paying customer. And I choose not to, and I write my opinions on Yelp because that's what this site is for. I used to work for Coach years ago and I find that the Milpitas location has the best selection I was in today and purchased a bag and matching wallet with the help a fantastic sales associate by the name of Ebony she was the first and only employee to great me when I walked in the store I had asked an other employee if the bag I had picked out had a matching wallet she was of no help to me so I found Ebony and she was quickly able to locate the perfect wallet to go with my bag in a world where customer service seems to be a thing of the past Ebony was a breath of fresh air thank you I love my new things! read more

Coach is very smart for marketing their secondary quality goods (compare to their first grade items at the regular boutique stores) being sold at these so called Coach outlet stores. Still, these are still legit good quality Coach bags for the bucks you pay. It is nice to have a Coach outlet store in Milpitas so you don't have to drive all the way to Gilroy. Surprisingly, even though it's always so busy at this location, they manage to keep the store organized, clean and neat. On top of that, the staff is incredibly friendly here and they are always trying to be helpful. A great place to shop for gifts, but make sure to come here early and avoid weekends. I like Coach but I'm just not a big fan. But when it's discounted and there is an additional 20%off the entire store on top of the discounted price, I will buy. My clutch was only $40. Some of the smaller clutches and leather clutches are only $30. The small keychain with a wallet was only $23. It's dirt cheap! I didn't wanted to buy any more purses but I had to because it was so cheap. Customer service is top notch! The employees are on their toes selling their products away and conversing with all customers. I am impressed with their customer service. They are nice, helpful, and talkative but not pushy. I hate pushy sales employees. When I pass by during the weekends, there is a line outside the door. This place is busy during the weekends. I see ladies with an armful of Coach purses on each arms walking around. They buy so much Coach purses that I wonder if they have a Coach purse for each day of the month. All I can say is WOW. I went in with my friend to look at bags. I was so ready to purchase a coach bag... However, the person standing by the front door didn't welcome us in. As we continued to look at bags he followed us throughout the whole store. My friend asked me are we being racially profiled and I said yes. I normally don't write reviews but this is so bothersome. Just for that he did not know that I could buy out the whole store. Sadly, I will not go back. Please train your employees even loss prevention because it is not in your rule book to follow. The Good: Fancy purses to impress people. Large selection of purses, bags, and accessories. Service can range from all right to exceptional. They ask for identification if you pay with card, which is good so no one can rob you and go on a Coach shopping spree. The Bad: It was an animal zoo for black Friday. Crowded, stressful, line cutting, uncomfortable, and not fun. The Ugly: The demographic of people in the store at the time (late age, Asian, unkempt) makes me debate whether or not this is what I want to be all about. The Verdict: I was here to pick up something for my mother on Black Friday at her request. This rating could be influenced by how chaotic the entire mall was, but it simply was not a fond experience. I like the store itself and they usually have really good purses and deals but I did take away 1 star just for the fact that it is always crowded and almost every time I'm there I'm ready to get into a fight. DO NOT shop Here. I have been to many Coach stores and this one has the worst customer service by FAR. I understand employees must be fustrated because of the holiday shopping there is but you have to treat all your customers good. Trust me I know I work for a company that expects only the best on everything speacilly customer service. Quick tip for the Coach employees SMILE!!! If you're a Coach fan, this place is for you. Good: - You'll find some really good deals. Note they have a men's store next door. - Despite the crowds and madness, the service is still surprisingly good. I looked at a bag for my mom and the sales person brings me the bag in several colors and tells me how much discount I should expect. Sweet! Bad: - Long lines to get in especially during weekends. - It's like a riot in there!
