What makes CO such an amazing addition to North Hills is not just its amazing food and drinks-its their staff. I have been numerous times, and each server I have is attentive, kind, and caring. Shout out to Chez and JD for being particularly friendly and enthusiastic. I recommend everyone try their dumplings, tuna tacos, and ramen. The Orange Blossom cocktail is also a favorite of mine. I absolutely love this place. The food is high quality, whether you eat in or carry out. I normally get the curry laksa, but on a rainy day like today, I opted for the Vietnamese ramen. Talk about a hug in a bowl! The broth is rich, flavorful, and deep. It is warm and comforting without being spicy. The shredded pork and pork belly served with it was excellent. We were out running errands in midtown today and decided to check CO out. The waitress and overall service was great. We couldn't decide what to get so we ordered several small dishes as that's the best way to go IMO. The salmon carpaccio & shrimp curry were our favorites followed by the crispy rice... the pork & ginger gyoza were underwhelming but not bad. My husband bit into one dumpling that had what we dealt was a tiny piece of broken plate in in... thankfully he did not break a tooth or anything but it was a bit disappointing. We let our waitress know out of concern there may be other people that may have a similar experience. She and her manager were apologetic and took the item from our ticket but I feel our point was not clear. I hear people complain and expect freebies but that is not us. A great general concern that they should maybe toss out a batch or tray (not sure how they are made?) was our point. I certainly hope it was a random incident and no one else had a piece of porcelain in a dumpling. But anyway, despite that bit of unpleasantness we had a very enjoyable meal at CO. This place was just great! They have a little bit of everything, thai, Japanese, vietnamese. We got salmon poke- best poke I've had! Also had rare beef pho, that was pretty good. Great place for lunch and happy hour because you get such an array of different bites. The place can get crowded on weekends (as does everything these days in Raleigh), but on weeknights,​ it can almost be romantic. It is​ a dimly​ lighted place and the servers don't hover, which I find very pleasing. For dinner,​ I had a Bahn Mi, chicken katsu and it was ok, very thin and scarce​ layers of chicken? Really disappointed in our experience this evening. Arrived at 9:20, felt like that was still plenty of time before closing at 10. We basically had zero service. Our waters never refilled our entire meal, our dirty appetizer plates never cleaned off the table our entire meal, we were never checked on at all once our food was delivered, we had to get up to find someone to get our check and to-go boxes, my fiancé even had to literally go in the kitchen to get a fork from the kitchen staff to eat after waiting 10 minutes and seeing neither our waiter or manager in the dining room. I understand the end of the evening is slower and you're closing up but this was horrible for 40 minutes before closing. Only plus to the evening was our food was still really good. read more

We came here during restaurant week which is the perfect opportunity to try a new restaurant. During my visit, I ordered the crab rangoons which were absolutely delicious! They had the perfect crispiness and dipping sauce. I also had the curry noodles with chicken which was extremely flavorful. All of the portions are large so don't go overboard with the ordering unless you're planning on taking some home. Drinks from the bar were super slow to come out which is the reason for 4 stars rather than 5. The food is delicious and I will definitely go back. But maybe I'll just order water next time to avoid the disappointment of the super slow bar service. It took 20 minutes just to get a Moscow mule. read more

Went to co on date night tonight. Walked in and sat at the bar. Ordered drinks and an appetizer pork belly buns. The appetizer came out. It was delicious but cold. The bartenders (there were two. Male and female) never asked us how we were doing and never gave us napkins or silverware/plates. We had to try hard to get the male bartenders attention so we could order our dinner. The female bartender asked my boyfriend if he wanted another beer but never acknowledged me. We had to ask for silverware to eat our meals when they came. The pad tai and the hibachi chicken were absolutely delicious. We didn't stay much longer paid and left. Over all bad experience. But the food was worth it. read more

If you are trying to dine out while still saying safe from Covid, CO is not the restaurant for you. Safety precautions were taken very lightly, so we will not be eating here again. Both the bartender and our waiter kept taking their masks on and off (repeatedly touching their faces), and then the bartender preceded to crush the mint for my drink with her bare hand (that just touched her face). For much of the evening our waiter walked around with his mask completely off. We returned our drinks as we were not comfortable drinking them, and they still tried to charge us for them. We called over the GM, who did nothing about the situation. We then caught our waiter and bartender complaining about us to each other and other guests seated at the bar, making for a very uncomfortable meal for us. My husband and I have been making an effort to get our and support our local restaurants during these tough times. We have been thoroughly impressed with the restaurants we've visited and their safety precautions, until our meal at CO. I am pregnant and am trying to be safe about the virus, while still continuing to live my life and support our economy. I know it is not fun to wear masks all evening, but the evidence has proven that they are effective in slowing transmission of the disease, so that should be taken very seriously by restaurant staff. The customer service at CO was just shameful, I recommend staying away for the time being. Please consider supporting restaurants who are working hard to follow safety guidelines. read more

Checked out this new Asian place last night that just opened up in North Hills at the bottom of the AC hotel. I had heard about the pork belly buns but unfortunately they were out of them when I went last night. I ended up ordering the kimchi dumplings, drunken Thai noodles, and the cheesecake wontons. The dumplings and Thai noodles were alright, I've definitely had better in Raleigh. The cheesecake wontons were definitely interesting and were delicious, especially after mixing them with the whipped cream and vanilla anglaise. They were also served with candied oranges which was a surprise finding those! Overall, this would be a good place to take a group of people as they do have a wide variety of options but if you compare it to the other Asian restaurants in Raleigh, nothing especially stands out that would make me want to come back on my own. read more

If you're not too fussy about food or service, CO is a decent choice for a meal. On a recent weekday evening, four of us tried CO on the basis of a drooling News&Observer review (Way too many of them are, but that's another story.). The room is pleasant with a good mix of neon reminiscent of a true Asian restaurant. The table we chose had a metal pipe for the ladies to boost themselves up to the banquette. Good luck getting down without catching a heel. Our server took a long time getting to our table though the restaurant was only 25% occupied. She couldn't quite understand why we didn't order right away. Cocktails came: godawful mojitos, overpriced mediocre wine, and a very good Singha beer. We asked for water as well (the new normal?), but that took a long time coming. When we were ready to order, our server was nowhere to be seen. It's not a big room. We waited patiently, and finally ordered. The food was a long time coming, our drinks were empty, so we asked the food runner to find our server. Eventually, another round was ordered. The food arrived smelling and looking wonderful. Gyozas were spectacular and tasty, spring rolls less so. Starters consumed, we waited, and waited. The room is now 50% occupied. No server to be seen. The food runner brought our entrees so we asked if he would mind removing the empty starter plates. He did so politely. While he was doing so, our server appeared, "How is everything? Everyone happy?" One would think she'd look at the plates first, but... Now to the main courses: Pad Thai was fragrant, looked wonderful, but those noodles had been on the steam table way too long and were gummy and tasteless. The Banh Mi looked, smelled, and tasted wonderful: crunchy/soft roll (hardly a baguette as billed), tasty meat, and lovely shredded carrots, but three bites and the meat was gone: one ounce, two ounces? The filling was lost in the roll. Disappointing to say the least; not super expensive at $9, but still... Our server cleared two plates and asked if we wanted dessert while two of us were still eating. We told her, "Not yet, were still eating." "Oh," came the response. The final bill came as fast as the speed of light. We don't write off a restaurant on the basis of one visit so we agreed to give CO a second chance, but not anytime soon. Some staff training is in order for the front of the house, and a skilled chef needs to be in the kitchen. Otherwise CO will be just another fast casual restaurant. read more

I visited CO on a Thursday for lunch and was promptly seated as I waited for my guest. The interior is chic yet not overbearing. The menu features a variety of various Americanized Asian dishes, including sushi, wok-fired noodles, and poke bowls. I opted for the daily vegan poke bowl, which includes tofu sautéed in black pepper sauce, snow peas, bell peppers, edamame, pickled carrots, bean sprouts, cucumber, spring mix, served over jasmine rice (yes, cut and paste from the menu). The poke bowls are HUGE -- definitely a meal that can be shared or saved for later. Overall, I was pleased with the dish. It had a variety of textures. The tofu was cooked well -- not too spongy. The black pepper sauce added a little heat but did not overwhelm the dish. I would absolutely return to CO and try out other items. And, after reading some of these Yelp reviews, it looks like I should be making a trip during happy hour! read more
