As always the food at Co did not disappoint - Curry Laksa was sensational as was the Vietnamese ramen. The service however was absolutely abysmal. On a non-busy Friday night it took 10 minutes and us flagging down a buser to get a server to our table for drinks. Food arrived promptly but the poor service and the fact that we couldn't get our bill without practically begging makes it doubtful we'll return. The interior of the restaurant was clean but the menu I received hadn't been wiped down in recent memory and the restaurant itself was ice cold. read more

This might be my new favorite happy hour/Asian fusion place. Wait wasn't too long even during their busy happy hour. Our server was very attentive, efficient and friendly. Nice and energetic ambiance. The spicy crab regions were so good we ordered another. We also ordered the crispy edamame spring rolls, crispy Katsu banh mi, spider roll and cali roll. Great dining option in the Park Road Shopping area. We've visited multiple times and this time was a Sunday evening. We elected to sit outside since it was such a nice evening. The local beer selection is pretty narrow, but they did have Sycamore Mtn Candy ($7). We started with the Beef & Kimchi Dumplings ($6.50) and I loved them as they are so flavorful. My bride ordered the Pad Thai ($17) this time around and said it was good. I went with the Hanoi Noodles ($17) and it was tasty. The servings for both of these entrees appear to be large - but the proportions are heavy on noodles and light on the protein. Service on this recent visit was a challenge with the delivery of our entrees coming with a significant wait. The waiter was very apologetic for the delay, however the lack of management acknowledgment or engagement was evident. I'm giving it a higher 4 star rating as I know how challenging things have been with the lack of labor force available right now. read more

I now have food poisoning and have had the worst stomach ache for the last 24 hours. I do not recommend this place at all. The rice bowls are 90% rice with barely any meat. I'd been meaning to check out this spot for their 1/2 priced sushi Happy Hour. I went right after work and was able to find seating right away. The place did get pretty packed shortly after. They have the cutest bar set up. The Sauvignon Blanc was so crisp and the Crab Rangoon came out piping hot. Those two things alone would make me a regular. I opted for the Philly Roll and the Spicy Tuna Crunch. The tuna roll was definitely more flavorful. I think my eyes were bigger than my belly today as I could not finish everything I ordered. We love to come here for date nights. We either order the spicy pho and fiancé gets the curry laksa. On occasion I add in a couple sushi rolls or an appetizer. It's a little pricey but so yummi! I have been to this place multiple times and I am always impressed. My go to item is the curry laksa because it is super delicious and a massive dish that usually I will have it for dinner or lunch the next day. I also recommend the crab rangoon and the drunken noodles! Personally I've never had a bad thing here and everyone that I bring here says that their food is super delicious. I really want to try the poke bowl or the bahn mi one day but I always end up getting curry laksa that cuz it's so good. read more

The atmosphere is nice for couples and small groups. The food is nicely presented. The Spicy Playa Poke bowl ($13) was plentiful to feel full. The spiciness has a good kick and the overall flavor was decent. It just wasn't anything amazing. It is definitely a fusion restaurant. The flavors aren't authentic, and definitely more of an experimental flavor. The servers were nice in general, but as the night got busier it was very difficult to finish my payment and leave. I think I waited up to 15 minutes to simply pay and leave. I asked if I can pay at the front, but according to policy, I can't. A bit of improvement in the operation would help so there's not a lot of waiting for the one server dedicated to the table. read more

What a cool place. Low lighting really added to the atmosphere but I think might conflict for people that have a hard time seeing. Service was ok. We tried to do the half off from 4-7 but we where there at 6:55 and their computer is what cuts off at 7. It was really busy so cut waiters slack. Food was good, samurai supreme roll was nice and warm because it was lightly deep friend. I didn't have the poke bowls, but my friends did and I tried them. I was not impressed, the playa bowl had warm rice but the veggies and fish was cold and I did care too much for that, it felt like a salad on top of rice. Ok I actually cant believe i haven't written a review yet for CO. This is probably one of my most visited spots and the only place i'd consider myself a regular. I've tried almost everything on the menu and everything has been superb! But the best thing is... half off sushi from 4-7 on tuesdays and thursdays and happy hour apps 4-7 on weekdays. No gatekeeping here folks... gotta share all the secrets even if it means an hour wait for me :') My go to place for half off sushi and other vietnamese dishes. Beware.. the vietnamese food here is americanized BUT still delicious! I typically come here maybe every other week. Overall: 4.85/5 When: Tuesday 6:30pm, party of 2. Quoted a 45 min wait but watched the bar like a hawk and got two seats as soon as a couple finished up. Bar is first come first served. Food: 4.8/5 - going to be honest here.. O-ku is my favorite sushi in CLT BUT the sushi here is still really good ESPECIALLY when it is half off. One of the only places in charlotte to have this deal and i hope they keep it forever because it's one of the reasons why they stand out so much. My go-to rolls are the lemon, cambodian, and fire cracker. Go-to apps are crab rangoon, edamame, and a newer app i love is the crispy tuna. Although i would suggest to the chefs to make the crispy rice a little less crunchy on the outside..then it will be perfection. The com chien (fried rice) with all the proteins is always a hit. Large portions guaranteed to fill you up with leftovers. Every other dish here is delicious so you really cant go wrong!!! Like I said earlier, this place has vietnamese dishes but they are definitely americanized to fit the palette of many. Still very delicious and the viet flavors are still there. Service: 5/5 - everyone from the hosts, owners, servers, chefs are all so friendly and helpful no matter how big of a dining rush or how stressed they might be. We always appreciate when employees can keep their cool during a hectic dinner rush but can still provide outstanding service. The bartenders especially are SUPER STARS! Keep killin it!!! Drinks: 4.8/5 - my boyfriend always gets the lavender vanilla old fashioned here and it's one of his favorites in the City. He likes his whiskey and OF on the sweeter side. We drove around the area and tried to figure out a place to eat. We decided to stop at CO and try them out. I decided to get the spicy udon noodles with chicken and the Jersey Roll. I didn't expect the portions to be that big, but I was impressed. The taste was even better! The sushi roll was fresh, and my noodles were delicious. Everything came out presentable and I really enjoyed the ambiance of the place. Also, with COVID-19 going on, they had the option to allow us to pay through our phones which was fast and convenient. Curry Laksa 10/10 - I would eat this stuff weekly if I could. I cannot WAIT to come back and get this again! Bahn Mi 10/10 - my friend got this dish- said it was wonderful. I continue to be amazed by how good this place is! It has recently become a go to for us. Located conveniently nearby in the Park Road shopping center. Pro tip: get the sake infusions! Tue and Thursday half off sake carafes. The sake infusions are so good but be warned they are smooth and dangerous. After a couple visits we have tried several and like them all. Think the blackberry may be my fav 1/2 price sushi rolls at happy hour yes- I will order 2 please :) . The rainbow Is always solid and tried the spider which is also good. Stopped by for a late dinner with the family. Has been on the list but finally made it over. Ambiance is quite nice with a mix of seats for large and small groups and a nice wooden sculpture that really gives the place something. We were seated quickly and food orders were gotten but service was a little spotty. We didn't get pictures of the gyoza but those were probably my favorite along with the ramen. [Grade: A+] I use to come to CO a lot with friends before the pandemic happened for Happy Hour specials, and honestly I would say it's just as good and maybe even better than I remembered! I came for the Tuesday/Thursday Half off maki rolls special during Happy Hour to get those delicious deals. From the Happy Hour menu, we got the Tuna Tataki, Salmon Carpaccio, and the Yellow Curry Tofu. The Tuna Tataki gave me yummy vibes of a Vietnamese-Japanese fusion as the flavour profile reminded me of Vietnamese Pho. The Salmon Carpaccio was delicious, citrusy, and tasted incredibly fresh and was my favourite dish. The Yellow Curry Tofu surprised me the most however as I was shocked at how fragrant, sweet, and spicy it was akin to a fusion-type thai curry, and I just had to take the leftover curry home to eat with some rice. One thing that disappointed me when I saw the new Happy Hour menu is that the Malaysian wings are no longer offered for $5 as they were incredible. The sushi rolls we got were also incredible as they tasted super fresh and were on par with other great sushi restaurants in Charlotte (but only half the price per roll WOWW). I personally love the Golden roll as I enjoyed the flavour of torched salmon. We also got the Samurai roll, and usually I don't get fried rolls as I sort of have a stigma from when I would go to buffets when I was younger, BUT this time I was pleasantly surprised at how it came out. It was lightly fried and gave it a slight crunch, while not being overwhelming with the fried batter, and the inside being super creamy in texture. It reminded me of eating a really nice cream filled donut in terms of mouth feel, if that makes sense haha. I deffo would get this roll again. Overall, this place has an incredible quality of food, akin to a gourmet restaurant, and continues to surprise me even after coming here for many years. The fish is super fresh, the curry is amazingly spicy, and the sushi just can't be beat, especially during the T/TH special. If only the Malaysian wings were on the Happy Hour menu, but I digress. We had a fantastic meal this evening at CO. Our party of three had a short wait because the after work crowd was in but they soon left and our table opened up. It was much quieter during the dinner hour with a few other open tables while we dined. For starters, we got their chicken wings. Sweet, tangy, sticky, the six wings were a perfect appetizer and divided nicely for the three of us. Yum! Main courses, my wife and I each got a pho with beef. Mine without noodles was delicious and rich broth. Presented nicely with the usual fixings including peppers, cilantro, Thai basil, bean sprouts and both hoisin and sriracha. Plenty of beef in there and my wife's had plenty of noodles. I really enjoyed mine, a good portion. My daughter chose the spicy pho with beef. Not terribly spicy but there was a bit of "go" in there. Delicious and I would probably upgrade to that next time. For dessert, they split the cheesecake rangoon that looked delicious and I skipped as it's not keto-friendly. Presented nicely with candied orange zest and crumbled peanuts. I was regretting my choice just a little. Great service and a fantastic meal. Very chic setting with very good Asian fusion food. It radiates hipness with a sculptural ceiling and exposed brick walls. The pan-Asian offerings span Korean, Thai, Japanese and Chinese food favorites. The inside ambience of the space is unexpected from the outside. There's a spectacular modern wood-ribbed ceiling that looks like a very cool modernist mushroom radiating from the bar area. I'm told it used to be a shoe store, but now it has been transformed to a very slick restaurant space with exposed brick. This particular location (part of a small NC and SC chain) is also located in one of the coolest shopping plazas in Charlotte. It's in Park Road Shopping Center, an old-style 1950s shopping center with a covered open walkway facing parking, but renovated to the epitome of 2019 hipster-ness. The food and service were also good. Waitstaff is attentive and funny, and even recommended alternatives ("oh by taking out the pork in that one it will be almost the same as the other steamed bun you're sharing" etc). Food was really terrific: Papaya salad was bright and flavorful. Spicy tuna roll was right on the mark. Vietnamese steamed buns were just the right combination of chewy and crunchy. Summer rolls and spring rolls were exactly perfect. Between three people we had a wide range of shared plates, and I recommend all. The only exception was crab rangoon (more or less cream cheese with crab in a crispy crust) was just way too creamy and rich. They stay open late and seem to attract a young, smartly dressed crowd. We went to a nearby grocery store afterward and realized we had forgotten the credit card. Even though it must have been close to closing time, they were asking if we wanted to be seated (but we just needed the credit card). I love this place because of all the reasons! Ambiance is spot on, cool decor - indoor and outdoor seating. Variety of seating areas and types, good for dates or groups. Love that they take reservations, but you don't always need one - but it is normally bumping at dinner. Food is so good! I've loved so many things! -PORK & GINGER GYOZA - hard to go wrong with dumplings/potstickers but these were great. 4 in a dish and a light sauce for dipping. -CURRY LAKSA - Soup/noodle dish. The first time I had it was perfect, most recently it was much too spicy! I'd ask if they are able to tone it down (unless you love the super hot curry spice). My lips were burning this last time. Still has amazing flavor and is a huge portion - always at least 2 meals for me! -PORK BELLY BUNS - liked these, got them steamed -GARLIC SESAME TUNA TACOS - great flavors, but really the ingredients are all things I love so I'm kind of biased when restaurants put these things together. Plus they are tacos - so yes, love these. WAGYU Sushi - loved this dish too. Overall, great experience because the flavors are so strong, and if you share a few dishes it's like a party in your mouth. I was visiting friends in Charlotte and had a big craving for Vietnamese food. One of our other fiends really wanted sushi. we jumped on Yelp and found CO. So glad we did because it had all of the food everyone was looking for and everything wes delicious. From the chicken katsu, to the beef pho, and all the sushi. The pho broth was pretty delicious and the noodles did not disappoint. The chicken was perfectly crispy and the sauce brought all the ingredients together without being overpowering. I only tried a bite of my friends sushi, but the rice was great and the fish was awesome. The atmosphere is laid back, but fun and the decor is really warm and inviting. We really loved the centerpiece that extended from the bar out through the ceiling. It was simple, but beautiful. It's also nice that there are decent amount of tables and types of seating, but it doesn't feel overcrowded. We will definitely be stopping by again when we visit. read more

Located in a strip mall. Plenty of parking I had a mango type sushi don't remember the name and Thai chicken. The sushi was pretty good tasted fresh. But that's where the good stuff needs. The Thai chicken was a very small portion size. It came with what I thought was a salad with no salad dressing but ended up just being 1/3 of my Plate in garnish. Basic rice. The worst part was the chicken. It didn't taste like chicken or cat!!! It tasted extremely weird and chewy and like cardboard. I can't even put it in to words. The amount of disappointment for this dish. I left it on the table. Jo doggy bag for me. I have the lavender old fashioned. All you tasted was the lavender sweetener and no alcohol so that's a waste of money. The interior has a nice cool laid back vibe. Staff was kinda new at least my waitress was. But I won't be back to this place. I did notice some other places in the area as I walked to my car that I will try next time. The higher prices does Not match the quality of the food received.
