You can come experience the farm for a few hours featuring 30 - 60 minute guided tours and animal encounters. Or.... You can stay in accommodations on the grounds of Ocoee Riverside Farm. It's a nice retreat away among the flatland plains of Tennessee. They offer old fashioned farm cabins, wagons, lofts, condos and glampsites. Prices range anywhere from $100 - $200 per night. I was exclusively here to spend time introducing myself to the farm residents. The most popular option offered to visitors is the $19.99 Farm Tour & Animal Encounter. The tour lasts 75 - 90 minutes. Now...when choosing this tour, they offer 50% discount add-on experiences to entice guests to stay and play longer. There's the Kangaroo Encounter - $14.99 (normally $29.99) for 30 extra minutes saying hello to kangaroos. There's the Camel Encounter - $9.99 (normally $19.99) for 30 extra minutes learning about the two camels living on the farm including riding on their humpbacks. So...right there w/ the basic Farm Tour for 75 - 90 minutes and including the Kangaroo and Camel experiences, that's 2.5 hours of fun at Ocoee Riverside Farm for a total $45. I think that's a total bargain. And...they plan activities to coincide with each other so visitors aren't standing around waiting for their next interactions. But.... Ocoee Farm offers even more chances to get up close encounters with their animals. For extra $$$, everything is on the table, lol. More add-on animal meet and greets including.... - Sloth/VIP Encounter - $99.99 - two 30 minute sessions. - Baby Kangaroo Bottle Feeding - $29.99 - 30 minutes. - Sloth Cuddles and Snuggles - $119.99 - 30 minutes. - Hug -A-Highland - $19.99 - 30 minutes. - Horseback Riding - 20, 45 and 60 minute rides. - Fennec Fox - $14.99 - 30 minutes. - Baby Llama and Alpaca Feeding - $14.99 - 30 minutes. There's even more farm experiences guests can pick from... I added the Hug-A-Highland and Baby Llama and Alpaca Feedings for $14.99 each, which brought my total to $75 plus taxes and fees for 3.5 hours on a weekend day. The Farm sent me a confirmation email with a list and itinerary for the a-la-carte experiences I signed up for. They instructed me to arrive at 9am. I departed the farm by 1pm. Extra highlights... - With all the various animal interactions and guided tours, every staff member was ultra friendly and went out of their way to ensure guests left with wonderful memories. Fallon, McKenna, Michael and Vladik were knowledgeable about the animals and they kindly offered to take pictures and videos for visitors. - Included in the Farm Tour is the Petting Zoo where they provide a bag of pellets to feed goats, sheep, donkeys, llamas and alpacas. After the Petting Zoo, visitors step inside the Barn to greet...iguanas, parrots, an anteater, hedgehog, lizard, mouse, baby camel and adult camel. - Lastly, I met John, the owner. He shared stories about his life before Ocoee Riverside Farm, his time in the armed services and how he and his family are 100% committed towards giving their farm animals the best possible lives. I had a wonderful experience at this tucked away hidden gem in Benton, Tennessee. If you're near the Chattanooga, TN area, Ocoee Riverside Farm is a quick 40 mile drive east. Thank you for having me.

The staff were friendly and helpful. We were very happy that our small dog was allowed to join us. The staff shared with us that they allow dogs on tritoons, canoes, some stand-up paddleboards, the fishing boat, and select pontoons. Arrangements should be made in advance, especially pontoon rentals, so plan accordingly. The day came, and we checked in for our reservation. We were kindly greeted and given the rundown and took care of the paperwork. Afterward, we looked around the marina main office at the souvenir goodies provided such as t-shirts, mugs, stickers, and a few locally made items displayed. They also have items like sunscreen, snacks, and sandals available to purchase. A restroom on the outer of the building is provided, so take advantage before boarding your boat rental. The pontoon boat we rented ($180 for four hours on a weekday) was practically brand new and perfectly maintained. It was very clean and had a nice setup. The staff provided a map of the lake along with some tips on where to find the rope swings and the islands you could park at. If you visit the islands, be aware there's red dirt. Be sure to clean your feet before boarding the boat again to avoid any cleaning fee after you bring the boat back to the marina. We had a great experience that made repeat customers out of us. Beautiful, clean, and quiet lake, friendly and helpful staff, tip top boat rental with affordable pricing, AND dog friendly- great all around, and we highly recommend.

Honestly, it's just irritating to be inconvenienced & disrespected in the manner we were today. We…read morehad rented a boat for Labor Day weekend and upon arrival were given a hassle about parking with multiple vehicles. Mind you, we rented a boat to fit 10 people, so obviously we weren't going to be showing up in just 1-2 cars. Anyway, that wasn't the true issue here. It wasn't communicated to us that we couldn't all park at the marina, but it wasn't a big deal as the parking attendant told us we could park our extra vehicles at the Inn down the road. So, we would just have to shuttle back to the marina in one of the vehicles we were keeping there. Upon parking our vehicles at the Inn which we were told to do by their parking attendant, we were "greeted" by the male owner telling us we can't park there. Someone in our group expressed to the male owner that the parking situation and miscommunication about it was a bit frustrating, as it was making us late for our boat rental and it all could be handled better for future customers. The owner then immediately proceeded to tell our friend we are no longer renting a boat (after we have already unloaded all of our things, stowed them away onto the boat, got two handicapped elderly members of our group loaded onto it and got myself & my 3 year old child loaded onto to it), called my friend an "a**hole" simply for expressing frustration AND BEST OF ALL, telling us we will not be getting a refund after he is cancelling our reservation. Luckily, the female owner did refund us after some back & forth. Unfortunately for her (as she was very kind and pleasant), she is doing business with someone who is obviously short fused and doesn't care much about customer service. We have given this place business multiple times over the past few years, so we are really disappointed with our experience and will not be returning or suggesting for others to do so.

There was soda or something all over it. The lamp was dirty, the ironing board cover was gross. The bathroom walls were filthy. See photo. The mattress kept sliding off the bed a bit, hitting the light cord and unplugging it. The plug for the tub didn't work so water slowly leaked out. The manager said that the room was checked every day for bed bugs. Highly unlikely since there was no attention to detail or in depth cleaning going on. We left before 2 on Saturday even though we paid for 2 days. We had to stay there the previous weekend and that room was also less than clean. The person next door, who appears to live there because they were still there the 2nd weekend, fell asleep with the TV on loud enough to hear through the wall. Since you go through the gas station to book and call with a problem, there was no one to call because it was closed. We were given no other number in the event of a problem. Couldn't stay at the other motel the 2nd trip because they were full. AVOID this place.

Rooms were simple and a great value at $70/night. We have bike racks and bikes on our cars, and being on the first floor with our cars and bikes parked in front of the windows, definitely helps us sleep better at night. Hotel is also across the street from a Family Dollar and next door to a hardees, which was great bc we were short on time and there is no other shopping for about 15 miles in any direction. The Shell station in the parking lot is also the host office. Everyone that worked here was very kind and helpful. We would definitely stay here again next summer in combination with camping. We really needed this hotel for the wi-fi service, but didn't realize that until halfway through our stay at the campground. My daughter has several assignments due for college courses, and our hotspot was completely useless in the Nat'l Park area, the signal was never strong enough for her to load or complete the assignments. The hotel room gave us a place where my daughter could work for a few hours in comfort each day, as well as a place for us to freshen up before our 10 hour car ride home.

Normally,…read morewe book places like this for a week, but due to the peculiarities of our summer schedule, we only had three nights here. Particularly sad, since this is possibly our favorite cabin rental ever. The Eagles Perch is the best-equipped, well-designed cabin we've stayed in (and we've stayed in many). Our family is the get-away-from-it-all type, and this cabin is perfect for that -- isolated enough to totally chill, but close enough to drop into nearby towns when the urge hits. Again, the Perch has just about everything you could need, and the cabin is exceptionally well-maintained. To say there is lots of deck/porch space would be an understatement, and during our early August visit, the outdoor fans were greatly appreciated. We particularly enjoyed meals and games on the extended covered outdoor deck area, enjoying the scenery, including those early-morning foggy vistas and late-night starry skies. The owners were totally helpful, friendly and communicative. We hope to return here as soon as next year and "finish the job." Can't recommend the Eagles Perch enough.

If the all day trip had been available- we would have done that too! The Hiawassee River loop was fantastic. You arrive in a field and park and wait for the train to arrive, seems kinda odd- but I'm guessing it saves the small town a lot of hassle. John went all in and got the dome car, upper deck seating- which means glass curved windows and glass dome ceiling. Panoramic views. We were car five- back of the bus. Our all in tickets also gave us snacks, snacks and more snacks- and soda, water, coffee and hot chocolate. We boarded and had about 30 minutes till departure and familiarized ourselves with the brochure, got some (you guessed it) snacks and found restrooms. Then the train horns sounded and we were OFF! I was excited to go through the small town of Reliance- where my sister's family has property and I vacationed with her years ago and white water kayaked on the Hiawassee River! We even passed the rafting outpost! We chugged along, the tracks following the river, saw a couple water falls cascading down rock faces, plenty of foliage (although the storm had downed most of the leaves) and just fantastic views. I took entirely too many photos. There was also the great opportunity to peek out the vestibule windows!!! AKA Selfie hanging out the window of a train kinda like a happy puppy! And- there were 2 next to each other- which provided an excellent photo op with John! Grinning like felons! The tour included plenty of local history and interesting railroad facts. Plus all the information on each of the 5 passenger cars. The loop has railroad trestle that we go under and then on and the same railroad track runs parallel to itself for about a 1/4 mile as it goes around the mountain and up. Once at the top, the engine unhooks and goes on a side track to rehook to train car #5 and just like, we were at the front of the train! While the engine is moving- our seats were flipped to face the correct direction. Very cool! Same scenery on the way back, naturally. We even were treated some good ole fashioned pickin~ bluegrass treat, a banjo playing conductor! I simply cannot recommend them enough!!! If you are planning a trip- please include them in your adventures!
