My husband and I travel full time in our RV for dog sports, rescue, etc. We stayed here for 2 nights in May 2024. Check in was completely online and we didn't have to see a single person. We checked in the morning of our arrival, received an email with all the needed info, arrived, punched in the key code, parked our rig without any drama, enjoyed a nearly silent weekend in spite of the park being full, enjoyed the Northern Lights and left without any problems what so ever. The park appears to be completely new. The grass is manicured and grounds landscaped, the trees are trimmed back, the sites are practically flat, the power stumps and spigots are in great condition, it's quiet during the day and absolutely silent at night. Best of all? Not breed discriminatory. We were allowed to have our bully breed here without any drama. For that reason, this will be our new stop when we visit Benton for dog shows. We couldn't ask for anything better. Protip: Ocoee Dam Deli & Diner up the way is actually fantastic and very affordable (try their broccoli cheese soup and their pimento cheese burger).

What a pleasant experience! We were visiting with family and decided to do an afternoon on the…read morelake. We called and made reservations in advance for a pontoon boat rental. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were very happy that our small dog was allowed to join us. The staff shared with us that they allow dogs on tritoons, canoes, some stand-up paddleboards, the fishing boat, and select pontoons. Arrangements should be made in advance, especially pontoon rentals, so plan accordingly. The day came, and we checked in for our reservation. We were kindly greeted and given the rundown and took care of the paperwork. Afterward, we looked around the marina main office at the souvenir goodies provided such as t-shirts, mugs, stickers, and a few locally made items displayed. They also have items like sunscreen, snacks, and sandals available to purchase. A restroom on the outer of the building is provided, so take advantage before boarding your boat rental. The pontoon boat we rented ($180 for four hours on a weekday) was practically brand new and perfectly maintained. It was very clean and had a nice setup. The staff provided a map of the lake along with some tips on where to find the rope swings and the islands you could park at. If you visit the islands, be aware there's red dirt. Be sure to clean your feet before boarding the boat again to avoid any cleaning fee after you bring the boat back to the marina. We had a great experience that made repeat customers out of us. Beautiful, clean, and quiet lake, friendly and helpful staff, tip top boat rental with affordable pricing, AND dog friendly- great all around, and we highly recommend.

A group of 12 of us stayed at Cabin #15 for one night. This was a very basic, 12-person cabin. It…read morewas worth the price we paid for it: about $30 per person, with a $200 deposit. The cabin had a small kitchen, dining room, living room and den, 1.5 baths, 4 bedrooms, and 2 lofts. The bedrooms and lofts had a mixture of twin beds and double beds. The only way to get up to the lofts was via wooden ladders. The cabin was old and creaky. In the middle of the night, it's hard to move around the cabin without waking anyone up. The furniture was kind of old too, but it served its purpose. The beds were firm and the pillows weren't much of pillows at all (very flat). Probably the most surprising thing about the cabin was that it had a small mounted TV hooked up to DirecTV. College football, FTW! Amenity-wise, the only thing provided were bath towels and some disposable cups at the sink. No soap or shampoo. It seemed we had enough towels, but not everyone took a shower. Kitchen-wise, the cooking utensils, plates, and silverware were not enough for 12 people, so we had to make due with what we had. Outside, we were next to the marina and lake. We had a small shore and dock all to ourselves so that was nice. We went swimming in the lake, which was pretty clean. There was also a fire pit. We went to the nearby convenience store and picked up some firewood and a fire starter kit and made smores at night. The driveway was gravel and roundabout. Overall, the cabin was clean and in adequate condition. It was bare bones, but certainly a fair value.

CGMF is a beautiful slice of peace and quiet up in the western NC mountains complete with a barn, goats, chickens and dogs with some cows next door. We chose RV Camping and setup on a hilltop RV pad with 30A power and fresh water along with excellent wifi, which was a great thing given there is no cell service in the area. We were greeted by Scott and Nancy, the hosts of CMGF and great people. Everything was clean and ready for our stay and if we needed anything, they were ready to accommodate any of our needs or address our concerns and questions. The goats are fun to watch as they are walked around and are great "guard" goats as they will alert the camp of anyone walking by them, especially at dinner time. The hosts also have a couple of very friendly dogs who love attention and are also very friendly with other dogs. We brought 2 dogs with us and they all became great friends running as a pack around the campground at times. During our stay, other campers came to stay, several in a couple of tent sites and one in their absolutely beautiful tiny home. They have clean restrooms to use and a shower, something you don't find very often at the smaller private camping spots. The camp store has snacks, drinks and some necessities such as toiletries as well as some souveniers and gifts for purchase. 10/10 would recommend forgetting about the world for awhile and going for a stay at Candy Mountain Goat Farm, you won't regret it.

There was soda or something all over it. The lamp was dirty, the ironing board cover was gross. The bathroom walls were filthy. See photo. The mattress kept sliding off the bed a bit, hitting the light cord and unplugging it. The plug for the tub didn't work so water slowly leaked out. The manager said that the room was checked every day for bed bugs. Highly unlikely since there was no attention to detail or in depth cleaning going on. We left before 2 on Saturday even though we paid for 2 days. We had to stay there the previous weekend and that room was also less than clean. The person next door, who appears to live there because they were still there the 2nd weekend, fell asleep with the TV on loud enough to hear through the wall. Since you go through the gas station to book and call with a problem, there was no one to call because it was closed. We were given no other number in the event of a problem. Couldn't stay at the other motel the 2nd trip because they were full. AVOID this place.

We have bike racks and bikes on our cars, and being on the first floor with our cars and bikes parked in front of the windows, definitely helps us sleep better at night. Hotel is also across the street from a Family Dollar and next door to a hardees, which was great bc we were short on time and there is no other shopping for about 15 miles in any direction. The Shell station in the parking lot is also the host office. Everyone that worked here was very kind and helpful. We would definitely stay here again next summer in combination with camping. We really needed this hotel for the wi-fi service, but didn't realize that until halfway through our stay at the campground. My daughter has several assignments due for college courses, and our hotspot was completely useless in the Nat'l Park area, the signal was never strong enough for her to load or complete the assignments. The hotel room gave us a place where my daughter could work for a few hours in comfort each day, as well as a place for us to freshen up before our 10 hour car ride home.

You arrive in a field and park and wait for the train to arrive, seems kinda odd- but I'm guessing it saves the small town a lot of hassle. John went all in and got the dome car, upper deck seating- which means glass curved windows and glass dome ceiling. Panoramic views. We were car five- back of the bus. Our all in tickets also gave us snacks, snacks and more snacks- and soda, water, coffee and hot chocolate. We boarded and had about 30 minutes till departure and familiarized ourselves with the brochure, got some (you guessed it) snacks and found restrooms. Then the train horns sounded and we were OFF! I was excited to go through the small town of Reliance- where my sister's family has property and I vacationed with her years ago and white water kayaked on the Hiawassee River! We even passed the rafting outpost! We chugged along, the tracks following the river, saw a couple water falls cascading down rock faces, plenty of foliage (although the storm had downed most of the leaves) and just fantastic views. I took entirely too many photos. There was also the great opportunity to peek out the vestibule windows!!! AKA Selfie hanging out the window of a train kinda like a happy puppy! And- there were 2 next to each other- which provided an excellent photo op with John! Grinning like felons! The tour included plenty of local history and interesting railroad facts. Plus all the information on each of the 5 passenger cars. The loop has railroad trestle that we go under and then on and the same railroad track runs parallel to itself for about a 1/4 mile as it goes around the mountain and up. Once at the top, the engine unhooks and goes on a side track to rehook to train car #5 and just like, we were at the front of the train! While the engine is moving- our seats were flipped to face the correct direction. Very cool! Same scenery on the way back, naturally. We even were treated some good ole fashioned pickin~ bluegrass treat, a banjo playing conductor! I simply cannot recommend them enough!!! If you are planning a trip- please include them in your adventures!

But their customer service skills and…read moreattention to detail has really fallen by the wayside...seems they cut corners with the cleaning crew and get nasty when you confront the issues... so we won't be back. Cabin was dusty/dirty and in disrepair, cigarette butts on the porch, and the hot tub wasn't drained from last guests. The kitchen and game room wet bar were infested with German roaches and there were scorpions in the basement bedroom where our kids were sleeping. Called the owner (Diane) and she did nothing... didn't attempt relocate us to another cabin or just offer to refund the cleaning fee.... nothing! When we told her the grill was out of propane, Diane told us to change our plans and get it ourselves because she was too busy. Owner doesn't have the resources for providing clients solid customer service when things aren't right. The cabin we stayed in... Rich Mountain Lodge....is marketed as suitable for weddings. Assuming that you don't want roaches crawling around on your wedding cake (yes, the roaches were really that bad. We couldn't even use the kitchen without them crawling out of the stove or dishwasher).... keep looking. There are plenty of fish in the sea of cabins in the Blue Ridge area.

She responds promptly and is always nice. The few times we've stayed with other agencies we've had bad experiences. Glad to say that is not the case with this company.
