HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! GREAT WORK AND STELLAR CUSTOMER SERVICE!…read moreI had an excellent experience with Founders Insulation and owner Brian Handy. Brian's a great guy--knowledgeable, honest, responsive, and easy to work with. He clearly explained what was needed, what was optional, and why. He showed exactly where the insulation and air-sealing problems were, giving me complete confidence in his recommendations. There was no pressure to add unnecessary work, and everything stayed within budget. Work included removing old attic insulation, extensive air sealing, insulating the attic to R-60, sealing the attic hatch, adding insulation to vaulted ceilings, and spray-foaming problem areas and a cantilever. The team did an incredible job. I was especially impressed with how thoroughly they cleaned up afterward. Most importantly, I've noticed a significant decrease in my heating and A/C costs since the work was completed. Excellent communication, quality work, fair pricing, and no surprises.

After getting several quotes, I chose Founders insulation to remove my old fiberglass insulation…read moreand replace it with cellulose. I would give them five stars for their prompt communication setting up the initial appointment, for providing a competitive quote and then answering all my questions about the insulation product they were going to use. I felt my concerns were heard and responded to respectfully, especially by the owner Brian. The crew that did the removal and installation were also punctual, friendly and took good care of my property. Despite working long hours in 100 plus degree conditions. The only reason I dropped a star was because after the dust settled and we were able to access the attic we noted a few things that bothered us. Most of these issues could have been easily addressed if the installation crew had been more communicative with us throughout the process. Instead we had to deal with these issues afterwards which was rather frustrating and took several weeks to resolve and required us to call in other contractors. I would still recommend this company for all the things that they did well. But more and better communication from the work crew would have made this an overall five star experience.

Now that they've completed the job at my house, allow me to provide yet another glowing review. Chris and I connected not long after my request for a quote and he came by my house in the next day or so. After spending a little time in the attic, he came down to give a thorough breakdown of what was in the attic and a couple of different paths I could take (e.g. removing all the existing insulation before blowing in the new product; leaving the existing insulation and simply blowing the new stuff over the top of it). He answered every question I asked and had a formal estimate (which included detailed photos of what he saw up in the attic) to me the next day. Chris promised that the team coming to do the install would be top-of-the-line -- and he was right. Dave led the crew, who were very respectful of my house and used floor coverings and booties throughout the installation. They removed all the old insulation and got the new stuff in place in about 3 hours. Dave had me inspect the work before departing and was also happy to answer a couple of follow-up questions I had. I wouldn't hesitate in calling Chris if you're in need of assessing your insulation situation or are ready for a replacement. As many folks on here will attest, you'll get outstanding service from start to finish.

I know it's like a joke getting contactors in but it's not terribly funny when it happens to you. The quality of the work was 5 stars. no ifs ands or buts. hole fixed, ceiling painted no fuss no muss no mess. It looks great. The office paperwork side was less so. it was a 2 maybe a 3. It was hard to get an estimate, e-mails sent were apparently missed, the office staff was disorganized- and I'm being polite. it was disorganized to the point I felt like they didn't want my business. and setting a date for the work was only marginally less stressful than Noah booking seats on the ark. When the workmen showed up, they had no work order, I got no receipt or anything at all, and they barely spoke English leading to a few misunderstandings. So the work was absolutely first rate but my God, it was a challenge getting it going.

I have had the worst time trying to get a quote from this company. They are not responsive and…read moredownright dismissive. I called and spoke with Chris for nearly ten minutes on October 27, 2022 (see screengrab). He asked me a series of questions about my crawlspace and attic -- as he pulled up my home on Google Maps. He then promised to send me a quote within the next day. He did not. I called back on November 2 (again, see screen-shot). This time, Chris was more curt. He didn't seem to remember chatting on the 27th. Fine. I outlined the specs on my house once again. He, oddly, asked if I sent plans over. It was odd to hear I needed to send plans to get a quote for insulation on a house less than 1000 sf. He never asked for plans on October 27. Overall, he frankly acted putout by the idea of giving a quote. And maybe that's why I never got one: even after calling and answering Chris's questions twice. Can't help but feel maybe C&R is only good for a certain type of client? Maybe friends and family?
