9 months later and I've gone from being an admirer of this gym to Crossfit MN (now Crossfit Edina)…read morebeing an integral part of my life. I now go Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Why? Not just to work out but to see a close group of friends that challenge each other every single time we work out together. Honestly, at first, it's super intimidating. You'll feel incompetent the first day, for the first month. But if you stick with it, my gosh it can change your entire perception on life. I eat cleaner, work harder, and have far more energy than when I started in February. If a scrawny guy like me can olympic lift, anybody can.

If I could give this gym less than one star I would. I have been Crossfitting for 3 years now, got…read morecertified, and was at an amazing gym in San Antonio called Mission Crossfit; the best, warmest, friendliest gym ever. I came home to MN for a wedding and obviously wanted to do a WOD; called this gym to ask for their drop in policy and the guy (assuming its the owner) said its 20 dollars, just come 10 minutes prior to sign the waiver. So I showed up with my girlfriend who had an introductory course and crossfitted one time before hand and wanted to participate again; the WOD looked completely scalable for her. We waited in the lobby on benches and after 15 minutes the owner walked up to us and said, "Can I help you with something?" as if we were shopping for Lululemon clothes in his gym and had just destroyed a whole pile of Speed shorts. I brushed it off and said I was there for a drop in WOD and just wanted to get a good workout in while on vacation and my friend wanted to join a crossfit gym. He asked me how long I had been crossfitting, and asked my friend who said she had the intro class and did one WOD prior and was still newer to the sport. He looked at me and said "You brought her to this gym to WOD and she has only done a WOD once?" I said, "It's all scalable, and I will modify for her as needed" which he ignored and said "Sign the waiver it's 25 dollars each" threw a pen and paper at us AND WALKED AWAY. I have never had such horrible customer service at a Crossfit gym from a fellow Crossfitter. He was acting like it was some secret community that you had to show a secret tattoo and kill a guy to be a part of. Needless to say we walked the F&*% out and did our own WOD at home; its not F#$%ing rocket science. I explained to my girlfriend, who really wanted to join a gym in the area that this is not how we would treat you at Mission Crossfit; I have brought numerous people from work and friends in for a class on the spot and have gotten them hooked because of how friendly and awesome our trainers are. Good job Crossfit MN, you were a complete jerk and lost service and respect from your fellow Crossfitters, I will never refer any friends or family to your gym. You might want to go back to customer service training and take some pointers; I know it's cold up here and people are generally rude, but be a team player, your representing an amazing organization that would not want A&*holes like you giving them a bad name.

I would not trust them to guide me into better health if they get these two things wrong without even being asked about them. They were professional, courteous, and called me back immediately after I contacted them. They explained everything on the phone. They could be good trainers for all I know, but the drawbacks above ruled them out for me.

From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed, supported, and motivated in a way that's honestly hard to find at most gyms. One of the first things that stood out to me was the atmosphere. The environment is incredibly positive and energetic, but not in an intimidating way. Whether you're completely new to fitness or already experienced, you feel like you belong. The coaches and staff do an excellent job of creating a space where everyone is encouraged to push themselves while still feeling comfortable going at their own pace. The instructors are truly one of the best parts of Farrell's. They're not only knowledgeable and professional, but they're also genuinely invested in helping you succeed. They take the time to correct your form, explain movements clearly, and keep you motivated throughout the entire workout. You can tell they really care about your progress, not just physically but mentally too. The workouts themselves are intense, structured, and incredibly effective. There's a great mix of strength training, cardio, and kickboxing, which keeps things exciting and prevents it from ever feeling repetitive. Every session feels purposeful, and you leave feeling accomplished. Even on days when you don't feel like showing up, you end up being glad you did. Another thing that really makes this place special is the community. The people here are supportive, encouraging, and friendly. It's not just a gym--it feels like a team. Everyone pushes each other to do better, and there's a real sense of accountability that helps you stay consistent. That kind of environment makes a huge difference, especially if you're trying to build long-term habits. The facility itself is clean, well-organized, and equipped with everything you need. It's clear that they take pride in maintaining a high-quality space for their members. Everything runs smoothly, from scheduling to classes, which makes the overall experience stress-free. What really sets Farrell's apart, though, is how it focuses on total transformation--not just physical results, but confidence, discipline, and mindset. It's more than just working out; it's about becoming a stronger, healthier version of yourself. Overall, I would highly recommend Farrell's eXtreme Bodyshaping to anyone looking for a gym that offers great workouts, amazing coaching, and a supportive community. Whether your goal is to get stronger, lose weight, or just feel better, this is a place that can truly help you get there. Easily 5 stars.

They tell you it's going to be less but then they start adding fees for "processing" or "joining." In a word, CrossFit Eden Prairie is AMAZEBALLS…read more I was highly skeptical of CrossFit despite rave reviews from my sister, who has been CrossFitting for over two years -- first in Lincoln, NE, & then with CFEP. I was in the camp of people who had never tried CrossFit, but I was a non-believer any way. Why would I join CrossFit if I can go to LifeTime & lift weights? What about all of those health & wellness articles taking over my News Feed about the risks of contracting rhabdomyolysis from CrossFit? Or what if I go & everyone laughs at me because I can't squat more than a 33lb bar? Embarrassment might be worse than rhabdo! To all of you who also have these thoughts, I say: FEAR NOT. I'm wrapping up the nine-class on ramp this Friday, & I couldn't be more excited to officially become a part of the CFEP community. (I say that now, but after my first WOD & another 100+ burpees, I'll probably be regretting that statement.) CFEP is insanely professional & above all else it values safety. The on ramp has challenged me because many of the movements are new to me, or I'm re-learning exercises that I thought I knew correctly, but in reality I've been doing them wrong on all along. (And as a four year college athlete, that's embarrassing to admit.) Justin has been my on ramp coach & he is a rock star -- friendly, fun, & encouraging. Curt, a co-owner with his wife, makes a point to drop in & cheer for our group in between the work outs that he leads. I think that says a lot that a co-owner makes an effort to check in on his new recruits! Even as a beginner, you are made to feel like one of the family at CFEP. I highly encourage anyone who is even remotely curious about CrossFit to drop in & meet one of the CFEP coaches. They offer two FREE intro classes each week -- Tuesday at 7pm & Saturday at 11am. You have absolutely no reason not to check out CFEP! You'll be welcome with open arms :)

Egos are checked at the door and this is a supportive and encouraging environment. Among CFEP Gym etiquette is: Personal records are "celebrated as if you just got a new puppy" and no team member is left behind - the workout is not over until everyone is finished. The CFEP trainers are well credentialed, heavily experienced, and biased towards safety, proper form, and scaling a workout to each individual so it is both challenging and safe. Trainers do not sit around talking to their friends - they are constantly monitoring everyone's performance and ensuring all gym members are using proper technique. Many CFEP team members and gym members compete in CrossFit events across Minnesota. Those who are extremely fit, who want to push themselves to be the best they can be and compete with elite athletes will find a community at CFEP who will help them reach their goals. CFEP has a free introduction class that is well worth the hour for all who are curious about CrossFit and are looking for a place to get started.

I wanted to learn how to lift heavy and essentially make that part of my everyday routine. Done. He is incredibly knowledgeable, has a lot of experience as well as degrees in the field.
