They also offer all props you could need at no extra cost. When you show up, it's at a (former?) church in the basement level. There's space to hang coats and leave shoes, and you sign in on a clipboard by the door. The space itself is warm and inviting with dark wooden floors. There are a few windows that let light in near the ceiling.

The teacher was wonderful and made the class a bit more personable by chatting with folks as they arrived and by providing a bit of her yoga story. They didn't have anything for people to use to indicate if they were open to adjustments/help, but the teacher asked before assisting anyone. Pricing: They have a great first class is free deal. Drop-ins are $16 and the monthly unlimited package is $76/pm. These prices are very good for Minneapolis! Parking: Street parking. This can get a little crowded on Sundays since the Yoga Sanctuary is located in a church. This is a five star review in general, but probably a four star review for me personally just because I prefer hot yoga and a parking lot.

I've been coming here for the last year and half and quickly realized these yoga classes are just…read moremy style. YogaQuest is an amazing, welcoming community in Uptown for the nerdily-inclined. The teachers are totally accepting of whoever comes in the door and really focus on offering yoga for all, even if you don't have the stereotypical yogi body. They offer so many options and variations for every body, and it's a great place to come in as a total yoga newb because they break down poses so well. The classes are awesome and always find a way to put a fun and hilarious spin on a typical yoga class. Tuesday nights offered narrated yoga-alongs to everything from Star Wars to Lord of the Rings to Sherlock and the list goes on and on. On Saturdays, you can even show up in your pajamas and do some yoga and then watch your favorite cartoons with a bowl of cereal. But one of the best things about YogaQuest is the sense of community you'll find there. Within a class or two, you'll notice a lot of familiar faces, and YogaQuest prides themselves on not being a quiet, contemplative studio. There are jokes and stories constantly flying, people asking questions about poses and tons of laughter throughout. In other yoga classes I've been to, it's incredibly serious and you never talk to the person doing a pose next to you, even if you see them every week. At YogaQuest you'll receive a huge welcome when you walk in the door, whether you're brand-new or you've been there the day before. And their focus on nerd wellness means they're always somebody to geek out with about your favorite fandom before, during or after class.

(Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the bathroom pro. It's so nice to have bathrooms right outside the studio. Easy access but you don't feel like you're in the middle of class with your pants down)

FYI this place has recently rebranded to be Good Vibrations Yoga…read more Disclaimer: Before Good Vibrations, I have not visited a yoga studio but instead practiced at home, following Yoga with Adriene videos. I've been coming here for only a couple of weeks, but I am a huge fan! I live nearby and am super glad I decided to visit. I got a Groupon for 10 sessions and didn't start using it until it nearly expired unfortunately, but Andrew at Good Vibrations was kind enough to extend the duration so I could properly use all of the sessions, for which I am very grateful. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the classes are very small (I have been in a class with only one other student before!), which I didn't think I would like. However, I have really liked how personal the yogis can get--instructors will give guidance if you're in a pose that may be harmful to your body. And because the classes are small, there is a really great community feeling amongst studio-goers. Instructors remember a lot of students by name, which is such a good feeling - definitely builds up the community vibe. As a beginner, I find it really useful that their website describes classes and to which skill levels they cater. The mindbody site to register for classes is also really great because it not only has the schedule, but there are descriptions that help you find the class for you. Yoga Foundations class with Karen has been really great for my beginner yogi level. Another great thing about this studio is that there are materials that people can borrow for their practice - having bolsters, straps, and blankets available has been really great, especially since I don't want to spend money on my own for so many yoga tools. Though, it does definitely encourage me to get a set of my own... In general, I would definitely recommend this studio. I always feel great when I leave the studio, and I look forward to each class. Once my Groupon has been utilized, I hope to still be returning regularly.
