I…read moresigned up for a membership after a class, thinking I was joining a supportive, professional studio. What I got instead was a shady cancellation policy, poor communication, and one of the most condescending emails I've ever received in my life--all courtesy of Rob. When I submitted a doctor's note and asked to cancel, I expected a basic level of professionalism. Instead, Rob decided to send me a passive-aggressive email lecturing me on his company's policies, defending the employee who signed me up (who clearly didn't explain the terms properly), and implying that I was somehow unfair for calling the cancellation policy "ridiculous." Spoiler alert: it is. Rob's email was less about resolving the issue and more about making sure I knew how right he thinks he is. Imagine needing medical care, asking to cancel, and getting a long-winded reply about how his employees deserve their commissions. Like, seriously? Rob, I didn't ask for a finance breakdown or a guilt trip--I asked to cancel a service. Also, don't talk to paying customers like they're dumb. That "if you were an employee here, I'd hope you'd want to be paid" line? Completely unnecessary and dripping with arrogance. You could have just said "thank you for the documentation, your cancellation is processed"--but no, you had to be petty and self-righteous. The tone, the attitude, the complete lack of empathy--Rob is a textbook example of how not to lead customer relations. I'm so glad to be done with this place. I would never recommend this studio to anyone, unless they enjoy being patronized by smug management who clearly think customers are beneath them. Take your money elsewhere. There are plenty of studios that actually care about people--not just policies and commissions.

From day one, the experience has been excellent. I walked in, had a great conversation with the manager, Mike, about my goals, and within a few days I signed up for both the gym and personal training. Mike is knowledgeable, approachable, and truly invested in helping members succeed. My main goal was building strength, and with his guidance, I've not only gained strength but also lost weight and inches along the way. What really sets this gym apart is how personalized the training feels. Mike helped put together a training plan with different workouts and a plan that works with how I actually eat no extreme or unrealistic restrictions, which has made it sustainable and effective. That approach alone has made a huge difference. The gym itself is always clean, organized, and well maintained, and the recent updates to the equipment and locker rooms are a great bonus. I also love that it's open 24 hours, with secure scan access when staff isn't on site it makes fitting workouts into a busy schedule so much easier. On top of all that, the atmosphere is welcoming. The staff and members are friendly, and it truly feels like a supportive community rather than just a place to work out. I highly recommend Workout Anytime in Cary to anyone looking for a clean, well-run gym with excellent training and a positive environment.

I'm not convinced of the technology but that's okay. My "stretcher" was Lauren. She was informative but quiet which I didn't mind but I did feel she seemed a bit strained when I asked questions. I'm not sure why. She was very serious which normally I don't mind but a smile here or there would be nice given the uncomfortable positions I was in. My biggest gripe and the only one that really matters is that I was hoping for a little more feedback DURING the session. Like, she would stretch out my leg and tell me to let her know when to stop. Um, I guess when it hurts? Once I did that, I'd hoped she'd say "ok, that was good or that seems strained" but maybe she didn't want to pass judgment. Don't take this the wrong way - she knows her stuff but if you're like me and you want the constant feedback ask for it ahead of time. The bottom line is - I went there for a right lower back pain that had been bothering me for 2 weeks and the next morning, albeit sore, the pain was gone. So, mission accomplished! I don't think I'll be purchasing passes because it's not worth it to ME personally but if you like it and willing to spend the $, go for it! I can see the benefits of stretching consistently.

I had emailed beforehand letting them know it would be my first time coming, so I expected they would tell me I should arrive early so they could familiarize me with the establishment, they did not. I still arrived early hoping someone would show me around or outline the program. No such luck. I was given a 1 sheet form to fill out, that's it. No introductions to the 1 instructor, the girl at the front desk did not even walk me back to the kids area or show me where the locker room was. I felt completely out of place and uncomfortable. I dropped my children off... in 1 small room where there were 12 or so children from infancy to 8 or so being watched over by 1 lady. This in itself I thought was unacceptable, but was thinking maybe another lady would come in once the class started. The class began, there was no description of what it was going to entail. No board to reference. No warm up. Nothing. Just go. Everyone starts running in place and the instructor starts talking and comes up to me and asks if I'm new ( she's on a microphone) I said yes, she asked my name, I told her.. then she says "well I can tell you don't like me already". People giggle and she walks away. It was not said in jest, it was insulting and I was humiliated. She goes through the exercises in less than 30 secs and throws people in it... there's maybe 25 women in here... super loud music.. 1 instructor. No one on one assistance at all, no help with form or thought given to proper technique. I absolutely could not believe it. In the second set of exercises sprints were required, as I had just ran 5 miles beforehand( and was not aware this was part of the class) when the other ladies went to sprint I removed myself so as not to be in the way and did ab work The instructor came up to me and said "what are you doing" I told her I had just ran before I got there and did not know running was involved and did not feel comfortable running again(especially in the heat) she leaned down to me and said " that's not what we do here, when I say we sprint, you sprint" WTF? At this point I got up, got my children and walked out.. the girl at the desk said nothing.., I don't even believe there was any type of management there. I have been in the fitness industry for over a decade and patronize several local businesses as well as participate in 5Ks and charities involved in the fitness community. I have never in my life seen a more poorly run, unprofessional, and disrespectful establishment. I will never return and for all the moms I know in the groups I admin or the organizations I am involved I will be sure to warn them away from this establishment. I pray not all locations are so poorly run. ** edited to add, since sharing this with others, several other people have voiced the same concerns

And orange 3G session has up to 36 people. That little space is already crowded with 24 people. It is horrible when there are 36 people in there. I am pretty sure the only reason they do 3G sessions is because of more demand for certain time of day. For example a lot of people want to work out on Saturday and Sunday mornings. So they do the 3G sessions. The heart rate monitors are off and not reliable. It seems like every other session mine cuts out on me for a few minutes. I see other people struggling with theirs as well. I don't know if there's a manufacturing defect in a lot of them or something else. But you pay 100 bucks for that Little monitor that cost the studio probably less than five dollars. They should be quick to replace them when they don't work. Or maybe change the technology. One thing that needs improvement is the sound system. If you are on treadmill seven your ears get blown out. Where as on treadmill number one it is a little too quiet. Also can you please figure out a simple hook for those straps. They are always falling off and swinging out. How hard could it be to buy some sort of little hook for them. Rather than trying to hook them on the dumbbell stand? One good thing this studio did in 2020 Was to put a five minute gap between class end and and the next class start time. That does help with the crowdedness at the locker area. I wish this studio would move into a larger space. It is still super tight in the waiting area. Hopefully their lease will end soon and the owner will get smart and move to a bigger space in the same shopping center. My review for 8/2019: Hello.
