Headbangers Ball!…read more Kill your Idol was one of my brief stops during the Saturday pub crawl. The bar is located towards the back, and the stage is up front. After getting their white tea aka whiskey shot, my bro and I had to make our way through essentially the mosh pit of a KISS cover band, white face paint and all. The drink is always good, but the music is not my kind of vibe.

Haha, this was quite a surprisingly fun and cool place. We came on a pretty quiet evening but they…read moretold us a DJ would be playing at 10pm. The bartender told us from 8-10p, drinks are half off, whoa! The hard rock was playing and the decor above the bar will make you laugh (and maybe reminisce). They had an art installation in the bar (so cool that they do this!) when we were there. We weren't quite sure what kind of music the DJ would play, first it was very hard rock and the crowds started coming so more popular songs were played. People were dancing, drinking and having a good time. A full range of music from NIN, Nirvana, Mariah Carey, Shakira, etc was heard all evening! You could put requests in and it was honestly a really fun night! They keep the bar clean, always removing empty glasses, napkins and constantly moving to clear the bar and small tables. They have a water station at the end of the bar and really make sure it's always full. I'm very impressed with this place (it's connected to Lost Weekend but we never made it over since we were enjoying Kill Your Idol too much). We had a great time, thank you!

Vera and Yubi were attentive making sure we had everything we desired not a second longer than when we had made our drink and food choices. When our drinks arrived they were mixed and chilled to perfection, and the food was absolutely delicious and cooked amazingly, the flavours were so good I could not put my fork down and the only moment I did put my fork down was to clap for the wonderful performances filled with spectacular dancing and chill-giving vocals. I came in with a smile not knowing what was in store and left with a smile even bigger than I came with and a heart filled with so much joy and gratitude for everyone at Mango's who created a night I will never forget!!!!!

There's an intense dynamic of action throughout this joint- upstairs and downstairs. There's professional performers on the center bar top. Walk to the back and there's another live performance complete with more dancers and singing with a dance floor at the stage. What's upstairs? There is DJ dancing - popular high energy music. The drinks are definitely expensive, but that is to be expected in South Beach. The only complaint is the bartenders I visited on the bottom floor to the left bar in the back and upstairs in the DJ room looked like they did not want to be there. Perhaps, this place is too wild for a continuous eight hour shift? Who knows. The jovial atmosphere in this place makes you forget quickly though. I think I stayed here until 2am dancing my ass off. I had a colorful evening and would definitely return! - maybe the dinner and show experience?
