We stumbled upon this place while searching for a restaurant to have dinner last weekend, and we…read moreabsolutely loved it! We are out of towners that stayed in Minocqua for a long weekend, and the first two places we tried to go for dinner didn't work out due to late reservations. We happened upon McGregor's Blink Bonnie Supper Club while driving down the road, and thought it was so cute, so we stopped in. We were told it would be about an hour and a half wait, but we went for it. There is a cute little arcade in a room off the bar, so my two older kids loved spending all of my quarters playing games. My husband, myself and our toddler ventured out back to the patio area, which was very expansive and included a large green space with a wooden ladder game and cornhole. All the kids enjoyed running around and going back and forth, which helped pass the time! When we were told our table was ready, we headed inside and were seated at a four top that fit all of us snugly, but it worked. The ambiance was cozy and very "Northwoods" themed. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious! The bread came out warm and toasty, which was perfect. My salad had the most delicious garlic dressing, I wish I could have bought a bottle to take home! My daughter ordered the onion rings, and they were fried to crispy perfection, and paired wonderfully with the tasty ranch. My son really enjoyed his fried shrimp, and I shared some of my filet mignon and lobster with him, which he loved! My husband practically inhaled his prime rib, and our youngest enjoyed tasting from everyone's dishes. We had an absolutely great time, and we will definitely be back next year!

We arrived about 45 minutes before they opened and there were already around 15 people waiting in line. Once they opened at 4:00 p.m., we were seated right away. The dining room isn't very large, but they have a great outdoor area where you can hang out while you wait. Classic supper club menu, and its true what they say as all the steaks come out drawing attention like the fajitas at a mexican restaurant, on a plate sizzling. All the food was great and the staff was so friendly! They mentioned it was definitely a slow night (due to the holiday) so glad we stopped by when we did! Will definitely be back to try some more of the menu!

Friday night 6:30 pm PACKED. 45 minute wait. Hubby noticed 2 empty bar stools. Asked if we sat…read morethere if we could eat at bar. Yes. We got the Delight Pizza with olives on side, extra sauce, thin crust. We had the pizza I'd say in maybe 12 minutes. It was DELICIOUS! We are from Iowa camping at Indian Shores for 9 days. Lisa the bartender waited on us. She was running her butt off, pregnant as well, doing a great job. I was going to buy a T-shirt but since they don't say "Wisconsin" on them I did not. You should add that! We sat by Jenifer at the bar who's from Alaska but lives here now & goes to this place several times a month. She also loves your pizza. I forgot to take a picture of the pizza!

My…read more92 year old father loves Monical's and doesn't get there often, perhaps if he'd been a little faster in the parking lot with his walker he would have made it by 8. Totally fine if that's their policy but the (clearly unhappy and hates life) grey haired woman was so rude and shouting after us as we left. We were disappointed, for sure, but didn't need the added side comments about her having children and wanting to get home. Or "if it made us feel any better they took the last order at 7:45" I was holding the door open for my dad when she made the comment about children, one hand high on the doorframe, and shrugged while sort of tossing both hands in the air...at which point she started claiming to other customers I flipped her off. I would never imagine doing that to someone!!!! Extremely odd behavior when all I said in the exchange was that it was 8:04. Also worth noting that the dining room was 60-70% full, the bar had 6 people in it and food was still coming out. We didn't walk into a sleepy night with an empty restaurant asking for a table, the parking lot was full and business seemed to be steady. I've worked for really nice restaurants in Minocqua for years and would have been fired immediately if I ever spoke to customers like that. Crazy what some businesses consider acceptable behavior by their staff. Or perhaps she was an owner? Not sure. Won't return.

Lake Placid Inn - The French Toast (made from homemade bread) is HUGE!!!

The hype is real. Lake Placid is a unique and stellar dining experience. Whatever you do please,…read moreplease order a side of toast or bread. The varieties include cinnamon, wheat, white, and rye. I honestly can't go quite as far to say it is extraordinary, but I love the texture and it unlike any toast or bread I have ever had. I had two eggs over hard over wheat toast with pepper gravy, hash browns, patty sausage, and a half order of biscuits with sausage gravy. The hash brows are done to a perfect dark golden brown. Due to the fact that the wheat toast was so good, I ordered an extra side of it and put jelly on it. The entre was called some other name than what it actually is like perhaps a Loon's Nest? I wish they would have descriptive names for what an item actually is. The menu is not efficiently laid out. Take your time and read it carefully and you will find something you like. Please be aware that no hostess is on duty. When you arrive you must put your name on a dry erase board and they will call you when it's your turn. You will have the ability to see how many are ahead of you. Also please be aware that if it is really busy they will close early.

I had the Loons Nest(formerly the Weed Bed) smothered in sausage gravy, bacon, raisin toast, with a perfect Bloody Mary. She had the eggs Benedict with ham. Served piping hot, our food was delicious. We enjoyed the "entertainment" almost as much as our food. If you're into "Hi, my name is ____, I'll be your server today" - this is not your place. If you like Seinfeld, you'll probably enjoy Lake Placid Inn. Hope I don't see you there as I don't like to wait.
