Manny's was a hit! They had outdoor seating, yard games, and a sand volleyball court. They had plenty of drink options (including delicious mocktails for me, as a pregnant lady). My husband had the steak w/mashed potatoes and asparagus and it was awesome. I wish I had eaten his dish! The chicken piccata was good, but the steak was no joke. Wait staff was awesome! You can do better. Amazing grounds and building but that's where it ends. I have come here year after year like a fool this is my last time. To start I asked about prosecco on wine list for $14. I said is that a bottle . Server said yes. I said I take one then. She came back and said it supposed to be $41. That's fine but then the comment if you ordered it without asking you would have been charged $41 and had to paid it. Really!!! Then I ordered a bottle of Moet and the server brought us regular wine glasses. I asked can we get champagne glasses and she brought them. Also the champagne came out cool not cold. So I asked what temperature and the fridge was supposedly 55 which not sure seemed warmer'. Even 55 is is a little warm for non vintage champagne. Should be 43 to 48. I want into the bar and ask for ice for my champagne as it was 89 degree out. Bartender was nice at first but I did comment about champagne temperature and got an eye roll, nice. The lobster ravioli is unique it's a flat piece of pasta over the ingredients. Also I ordered the broiled cod. 3 small pieces. This place was very nice-- the ambiance and food was solid. However, one note would be to make sure both the waiter/hostess/food runner knows what steak is what, etc. before they serve at the table. It was a little strange/awkward when the waitress and the food runner (?) were deliberating what steak was what/being snippy with another. I understand that it is hard to catch one another before the food comes out, but better communication and a better system would be helpful! Or, just have the waiter bring it out. There was also a strange comment made when our waiter said "Just make sure no one looks like a deer in the headlights." I'm sure they were joking, but a little strange. We also asked about ice cream drinks, no big deal that they didn't have them, but the waiter goes "Those are a dying commodity". They were kind of a buzzkill/made weird comments that did not come off as witty... I understand that everyone has different humor/we all have off days, but overall, our waiter made strange jokes. We recently went to the outdoor area that has a nice bar and food truck, plenty of room and good area for the kids. We were excited to try the "Smash Burgers ". What a huge disappointment. The Service was good. Love the ambiance of the outdoors and a beautiful day. You can see the lake. Everything was green and lush. Our drinks were delicious. Mai tai was very strong. Almost too much. The food was teeter on good and bad. I myself had the walleye bites. They were not eatable, no taste and like biting into shoe leather. I wish I would have taken them back to the food truck. It's a weird food distribution. You order by scanning a QR code then pick up the order when ready. Hard to make a complaint and I hate complaining about good I ordered. But I warn you not to try the walleye bits. The paninis were not bad according to my friends. And I did like the truffle fries. We will stop by for drinks again but will eat somewheres else for sure. We sat outside and the service was almost nonexistent. You are required to order online from your table and pickup yourself. We ordered one can of beer, and two glasses of wine ( served in small plastic cups) which cost $36.25. The burgers we ordered were not made fresh and served barely warm. The same with the fries. Beautiful outdoor dining area with a front row water view! Plus the food is fantastic especially for such a small town. If you're into modern eats, you won't regret stopping here. They have lake concerts for free in the summer. Food - loved the numerous vegetarian dishes on the menu. Unfortunately they were out the ones I wanted (hummus and veggie burger). I ended up ordering a roasted tomato bisque which was so tasty. Hubby ordered a pulled pork sandwich and said the meat was so tender and juicy. Service- bit spotty as there was only one server for the entire outdoor dining area. She was a little stressed out when we arrived partly due to the lunch crowd and also running out of food on the menu. Verdict - this is such a rare find for a small lake town that offers modern eats. I made reservations for myself and a friend from Hayward. Having been to the supper clubs in Hayward a relish tray was ALWAYS a part of the experience for us both. As I was reading reviews I saw they had discontinued their relish tray so just because of that I cancelled the reservation. SUPPER CLUBS! Don't even begin to call yourself a supper club without a relish tray even if it's just some cheese spread and crackers. I've found that in this whole area the supper clubs that used to serve a relish tray are no longer. It's part of history, check out Haywards supper clubs! When this place first opened I was so impressed. Service and food were top notch. Not your typical Northwoods Wisconsin fair and everything was prepared perfectly with what seemed like fresh ingredients. Loved it. Been back an addition 3-4 times. Each experience in the dining room has been less and less impressive. This last time was probably our last time. Our server didn't seem to like to talk. Other than taking our order she would come and go from our table as if she was trying to say as little as possible. When she brought food it was a quick hit and run. No time to order additional drinks , etc. The food seemed tired. Not sure if the original chef left or the passion has faded. I will say it was 5:30 when we got there, on a rainy day. So maybe the experience would have been different if we were able to sit outside in the back where the fun seems to be ? For the price, I expect a little more than an average experience. read more

The focaccia was fantastic and I enjoyed the giardiniera as well. Although the smoked onion dip was a bit sweet for my taste, it had a deep flavor. Cheese curds were perfect and were squeaky to my liking. Ordered pistachio walleye for my main course and it was the most tender and juicy piece of walleye I've had before. The thickness of the crust was just right and herbs complimented the fresh fish well. Lemon wine sauce was a great touch and not too overpowering. We were looking for a place to have a drink and a snack on a Friday afternoon and stopped in the backyard here. We have been to the inside restaurant a couple of times (although it's been a year or two) and figured it was a solid choice. The covered bar in back was nice and had a really good vibe. There is a stage and permanent food truck that you can order from. Doing a quick look for a snack on the food truck menu and we were a bit disappointed. I understand they have limitations running from a food truck but it felt like it was fries and chicken options with a dusting of calamari for apps. The chips and dip are probably the highlight of options. I couldn't place my finger on it but it felt like they are missing something to round out the options almost like the options were boxed into a corner. Bang bang sauce with fried shrimp..maybe some Bratwurst bites with wisconsin cheese cup? They need some red meat shrimp or something. We didn't order any food and stuck with cocktails. Service- our initial bartender was very friendly and attentive. Additional bartenders arrived in preparation for the pre dinner crowd. The bartenders were friendly however were not very attentive. They seemed to have selective sight lines. They would almost look at our empty glasses but not make eye contact to realize they needed their first refresher even though we pushed them to the edge of the bar. We sat for about 12 minutes without drinks (we timed it accidentally cause we were looking for other places to go that weren't quite open yet). Finally after multiple bartenders grabbing things from under the bar in front of us and not refreshing our drinks a bartender working the other side of the bar came down to our side and asked if we wanted something else. The back wasn't all that busy and they had more than enough staff (everyone was trying on wigs that were apparently a thing that day). We eventually left and went elsewhere. Would I come back for drinks if I was in the area sure. But I would temper my expectations if I decided to so so. read more

New chef again, wants to change it up. Got rid of my favorite salad of theirs - cobb salad. Previously got rid of my favorite sandwich - a chicken w/ sweet and spicy chili sauce. Soups are still too salty, always have been, and iced teas are $3 per pour - no refills. $6 for my 2 iced teas with my lame caesar salad just made the experience even worse. Anchovies were in strips, not chopped up. Yuk. I think a bread round is supposed to come with salads. Have had at least 10 salads since they opened and received once. Beautiful outdoors, nice enough indoors but food is not consistent or great. Come for the outdoor atmosphere and socialization, stay for the drinks and patio food truck and avoid the inside of the restaurant. read more

The owner said they plan on doing a Mother's Day brunch. The inside of the restaurant is updated with nod to the Northwoods without being overdone. read more

We were so excited to try the new place in town. Let me start with that the exterior bar and interior have a very cool vibe. Impressive. We had a party of 6. Food was such a disappointment. Fried chicken sandwich was burned. Bun was hard and dried out. We sent it back. Salmon was also over cooked and crunchy. Flavorless. Onion petals were good. The ambience is out of place with Manitowish Waters - huge hardscape and no integration into the surroundings. This may appeal to people from some city somewhere who is being "sold" the Northwoods as a Disney ride, but it has no authenticity. Servers were charming and attentive. We had a great experience at this new restaurant in Manitowish Waters. They are expanding the restaurant to include a Live entertainment stage, additional outside seating area and promenade so if you are seated in the outside patio area, you may hear this in the background (4 PM to 5 PM); but, it's no big deal as they are working on the expansion and improvement of this awesome restaurant. If you're seated inside near the bar area, it is a bit louder due to the bar and the crowds as this is what happens in a popular restaurant with patrons having a good time. I would recommend the patio area as it is just a bit quieter. We had the fried onion petals as an appetizer and they were excellent. We also have had the chicken piccata and it was good; but, we expected it to be pounded a bit thinner. Two in our dinner party had the pan roasted Atlantic salmon served with rice pelaf and they were tasty. I had the Friday fish fry with a walleye and it was good as well. Our portions were all very generous so we had four to-go's which will be tasty lunches today. Our server Marley was very friendly, welcoming, accommodating, fast, efficient and knowledgeable. This restaurant is very busy especially in season so we recommend trying to make reservations right at 4 PM (or outside their peak hours) before the onslaught happens. read more

When this opened it was a solid 5*. - great menu, great food and great service. Our last 3 visits have been sub par at best. They have greatly reduced the menu from the original but that's understandable (even though they removed many favorites). Problem on last 2 visits has been persistently out of several menu items (revolving - different ones different days). Food has not been consistent and on our last visit - more than an hour fifteen minutes wait after we ordered our food. At the hour mark waiter said it was coming up. We were hoping for a change but it's looking like it's entered eternal restaurant hell. My experience last night was superb. Our server Shawny was a breath of fresh air having been exposed to awful waitstaff in the past. The food was amazing beginning to end, salmon perfectly done to our liking vegetables and rice amazingly delicious Caesar salad, fresh baked French onion, soup, in an awesome little taurine. Water glasses like wine, goblets very elegant and the bread don't get me started. I don't usually eat bread, but this asiago was amazing. We sat on the porch. In the dead of winter and the new heating system was toasty, we've been frequenting this restaurant for the past 30+ years first time since the change of ownership and rehab we were very satisfied. My only negative comment would be when we made the reservations. The guy was pretty out there lol and we mentioned we were celebrating a birthday. He claimed he noted it it was never brought up and we didn't want to push the issue so there's that we will definitely be back.
