Fun Northwoodsy spot, frequented by locals but welcome to guests. Food is great, Cathy, the chief cook, is a treasure!

To start with, the place is very cool on the inside. It has an amazing antique bar, and just as the…read morename says, boat memorabilia everywhere. The staff was terrific, too. Our server, Leah, was very pleasant and met our every need. I'm extremely picky about tartar sauce and she brought me out plenty to try and then when I loved it, more to enjoy with their excellent fries. I thought it was the best I've ever had in a restaurant. We all enjoyed our meal and my daughter loved her Fettuccine Alfredo especially. My walleye sandwich was incredible, too, especially since that tartar sauce was so phenomenal. One thing that really caught my eye was how hard the hostess was working. I don't think I've ever seen someone of her generation with such an amazing work ethic. It was kind of fun to watch her do her thing. If I had a company of my own locally, I would definitely be working to hire her. I didn't get her name, a d she looked awfully young to own the place. She acted as if she did, however. Amazing!

A great Wisconsin staple. Husband and kid both got the fried cod. I got the broiled (so happy for that option as I love fish just can't do the breading). Everything was hot and delicious. Baked potatoes were delish and huge !! The bar has a great selection of tap beer and I also had a great cranberry vodka (from northwater distillery) that had a little spice to it with diet sprite (thanks for having diet!!)

The service was very good and it was fun to watch the waitress come to the table with three big mugs of root beer in one hand I won't say it actually made me feel like I was in Germany, but it was a lot of fun. They have outdoor seating in the back but we ate inside. Totally worth the visit if you want something different!

We unfortunately had a really bad experience and hadn't even made it to getting our waters yet…read more.. what a disappointment after my husband had grown up going to Minocqua in the summers and was so pumped to finally try Otto's, as he had never been yet. You know that red flag feeling you get after you're seated and no server acknowledges your presence? That was this place. And it was actually the second red flag. When the hostess seated us in the outdoor garden area she informed us it would be 45 minutes until food came out. Interesting information right from the get go. Our group of 5 was puzzled at this....many tables had just cleared out and it seemed that there was plenty of servers and bussers working to handle the amount of customers. From there it just went downhill even further. We ended up finally talking to someone asking if we could switch tables to get out of the direct sun. It took them WAY too long to clear the table they told us we could move to. In the meantime, no one had yet come over to at least give us waters. Once finally at our new table and acknowledged by a server, we put in our drink orders which we kept to waters only because we were at this point questioning bailing. After many minutes of waiting for our waters and never receiving them, we called it quits. We got up and told the server it's been too long, and checking the time it had been 20 MINUTES WITH NO WATERS. The last and worst nail in the coffin was that my mom had a view of our server who had in fact filled our waters towards the back of the garden area and then set them on a tray....and then....was just standing around. Literally. We also witnessed a busser moving at incredibly slow speeds and other servers seeming "busy" but not sure with what....There was absolutely no reason for the delays we experienced. We think the only explanation for all this was that there are simply far too many inefficient workers. Or workers with no sense of urgency or awareness to help one another out. It was quite sad to witness and should be even sadder for the business that they missed out on a customer, and in turn receives a bad review. What a bummer. Will never return.

They serve Food and Drink as well. Was there with a bunch of folks from Berwyn, IL which was a Czech Stronghold back in the day with a Bohemian restaurant on practically every block. When we saw "Little Bohemia", we were eager customers. Pre-prandial de rigueur in WIsco calls for Brandy Old Fashioneds, and they were quite tasty. The menu actually is more Germanic than Czech, but that's ok. Close enough. There was a Bohemian Rye bread service with a trio of compound butters, all so average I cant remember what they were except for the one wot had chopped olives. That one was fine. There was a relish tray that had a bizzare spread of Peas and Peanuts in a white cream sauce. We couldn't figure out what to do with it. Never saw anything like it in any of the many Bohemian (or Deutsche) joints any of us had ever been to. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't fab either. Now there was a Mushroom soup offered and it was really really yum! Could have had 3 bowls of that and called it a night. For entrees, Roast Duck was on the specials and one of our party got the last order before it was 86'd. Most of us were going to order it as well, so hearing it was off the twig made us scramble back to the menu. My pal who knows the difference said the duck was great. I swung with a pork schnitzel, spaetzle and rotkohl. All three were pretty good. Not as good as the Czech joints in Berwyn, but good nonetheless. Wife had a steak which she was not impressed with. That Schnitzel was $32, by the way, which I thought was a little dear. $32 will just about buy a fine dinner for 2 in any of the remaining Czech joints in the Berwyn area. Service was fine, and we were in the room wot had most of the Dillinger artifacts. I'm throwing 4 for this place 'cos the evening was pleasant, and the basehits overrode the strikeouts...
