Fun Northwoodsy spot, frequented by locals but welcome to guests. Food is great, Cathy, the chief cook, is a treasure!

Our server, Leah, was very pleasant and met our every need. I'm extremely picky about tartar sauce and she brought me out plenty to try and then when I loved it, more to enjoy with their excellent fries. I thought it was the best I've ever had in a restaurant. We all enjoyed our meal and my daughter loved her Fettuccine Alfredo especially. My walleye sandwich was incredible, too, especially since that tartar sauce was so phenomenal. One thing that really caught my eye was how hard the hostess was working. I don't think I've ever seen someone of her generation with such an amazing work ethic. It was kind of fun to watch her do her thing. If I had a company of my own locally, I would definitely be working to hire her. I didn't get her name, a d she looked awfully young to own the place. She acted as if she did, however. Amazing!

A great Wisconsin staple. Husband and kid both got the fried cod. I got the broiled (so happy for that option as I love fish just can't do the breading). Everything was hot and delicious. Baked potatoes were delish and huge !! The bar has a great selection of tap beer and I also had a great cranberry vodka (from northwater distillery) that had a little spice to it with diet sprite (thanks for having diet!!)

It's just a roadside bar/ restaurant. We were there in the winter so a lot of snowmobiles had stopped to eat. The pan seared scallops seemed out of place but looked so good. I'm glad I went with it. I love celery root puree and the greens and bacon just brought it to a new level! My husband enjoyed the huge braised beef shank. I would highly recommend. Ordered the curry cauliflower, cherry and almond appetizer it was was good however being from the Caribbean I couldn't taste the curry but I love cauliflower and it was a nice combo just needed a little more flavor. The salad was good and the dressing was homemade and delicious. Our soup tasted great as well. The prime rib was good and the mushrooms were awesome because they were real mushrooms. The only problem was my prime rib was cold, I let the waitress know and they gave us a discount. My partners prime rib was perfect. The service was great our waitress to good care of us and the restaurant was clean and our table was clean and quiet. We will definitely go there again to try some other things on the menu.

Food was delicious, our server was so sweet and smiling the whole time I swear. Lumpy's ( that name still cracks me up) on a the lake and mega neon signs to stimulate anyone for eye candy while you wait for your food. I ordered the cod sandwich. I asked for no cheese but had no idea how humongous that thing would be. Really enough to split but I don't really love to share . It was one long piece of fish fried and heavy duty style. Also the local blueberry wheat beer was a true gem of a find. Don't always go with the same thought of less than 4 star don't bother. If we did we never would have tried this place and we all loved our meals.

To start I asked about prosecco on wine list for $14. I said is that a bottle . Server said yes. I said I take one then. She came back and said it supposed to be $41. That's fine but then the comment if you ordered it without asking you would have been charged $41 and had to paid it. Really!!! Then I ordered a bottle of Moet and the server brought us regular wine glasses. I asked can we get champagne glasses and she brought them. Also the champagne came out cool not cold. So I asked what temperature and the fridge was supposedly 55 which not sure seemed warmer'. Even 55 is is a little warm for non vintage champagne. Should be 43 to 48. I want into the bar and ask for ice for my champagne as it was 89 degree out. Bartender was nice at first but I did comment about champagne temperature and got an eye roll, nice. The lobster ravioli is unique it's a flat piece of pasta over the ingredients. Also I ordered the broiled cod. 3 small pieces. Which whatever but person next to me order it and he received 3 giant pieces of cod . On purpose, not sure. This is only my 5th one star review out of 145 reviews for reference.

Started with shared pasta salad and cheddar spread best eaten with bread sticks. Warm rye bread was an add on. We ordered the appetizer special - cheese sticks deep fried with marinara sauce. Would pass on it next time. Four adults and two children in the party. Adults had filet mignon, baby back ribs and two had fish fry. The steak was prepared perfectly and came with a baked potato. Ribs were good but they were not typical baby back as expected and came with a potato pancake with apple sauce. Fish fry was generous and served with cole slaw and baked potato. I spilt a wedge salad and it was delicious. Romaine lettuce split and loaded with blue cheese, tomato's, bacon and a blue cheese dressing. Kids had grilled cheese sandwich with fries, and the other had pasta with red sauce. Both meals were clean plate club. Our server was excellent. The meal was timed perfectly and we were kept informed as the night went on. Would definitely return. Recommend without any reservations. Ambience is special, well worth going early to check things out.
