Around 100 feet long, the longest straight ramp I've ever seen and if you are able to launch from here, you're clearly a backing up trailer expert. The park has a picnic shelter with tables and grills, a pretty gazebo and a fishing pier. An activity building (currently closed) has restrooms. The shoreline has a fabulous view of the lake and the picnic tables would be perfect for doing exactly that by the waterside. Parking lot is the trailhead for a paved bikeway and walking trails. We spent the day on Lake Norman yesterday. (Not that we went into the water, still a little cool…read morefor that. Just cruised around the lake.) I was amazed with the quality and number of boats offered by Aquaventure (I believe they said they have 17.) The majority of the boats looked new. They have ski boats, pontoon boats, jet skis, kayaks, paddle boards and a sail boat. Also Aquaventure has lots of different fun toys available to take out on the water. The service was great, and the staff is a lot of fun. Aquaventure is a bit of a drive from Charlotte but on the positive side, this part of Lake Norman is very quiet. Our boat had a big engine and was extremely fast. It also had a GPS, an awesome stereo system, a popup changing tent, and easy access in and out of the water. I believe owning a boat is overrated if you just want fun on the water, renting is the way to go. I gave the boat back when I was done. Next time I am thinking about renting a paddle board.

We ended up renting a boat in August with about 7 or 8 of us. My boyfriend and I have never rented a boat before, so we have no knowledge on boat rentals. We read online that in NC that if you are under 25 years old, you have to get your boating license in order to drive a boat. We called to confirm this and a woman picked up. She said yes that is required. We later heard from some people from the area that it wasn't required, so we called again just to double-check. Again, she said a license is required. So my boyfriend paid $30 and spent about 6 hours getting an online boating license. When we arrived... my boyfriend showed the license and the guy (owner?) says "What's that? You don't need that" and when we told him about our phone encounters, he said to us "The employee you talked to was wrong....Women..... am I right?" (With a major eye roll) Excuse me? You're going to say that to a group of 5 girls and 3 guys? So rude. Anyway, we got on the boat and had a great time. The boat was super nice and the water was great that day. That's why they get the 2 stars. But we had more troubles when we brought back the boat. He said "You smoked a cigar on the boat? That is not allowed mi amigo" to my (Mexican) boyfriend. MAYBE you need to tell your customers the rules when we made it VERY clear we've never ever done this before. And also don't say that to a Spanish-speaking person... Or anyone. THEN he fills up the boat and tells us the cost of fuel when we were about to leave, which is funny because I asked multiple times if there would be any other charges besides the rental fee and they said no. Overall day, great boat, great lake, annoying & rude staff Again... sorry for the long review! I never write bad reviews so I was trying to be as detailed as possible.

Never had this kind of experience before when renting cars, boats, jet skis, etc - they usually ask on the website (which they did and I answered) or they ask when we get there. They then proceed to tell my I need a boating safety certificate since I'm born in 1988, not before. I instead, give them my friends info who was born in 1985 and said she will drive. They really texted her at 9pm on a Wednesday night and started asking her about her boating experience. It was odd to say the least. At 11:15pm they email me and tell me that they have decided not to approve my request for a boat. It was a weirdest, most unprofessional experience I've had trying to rent any type of equipment like this. I'd avoid them and go with nicer, cheaper alternatives.
