Whether you are a dog owner, have children, like to walk/jog, partake in fitness activities or water activities, Ramsey Creek Park is the way to go! There is literally something for everyone! It is located in Cornelius, off of Nantz Road. Upon entering the park, you will find a variety of parking areas, some closer or further away from the water. Any parking area you choose will be a great walk to whatever activity you want to partake in. With that in view, there is plenty of parking available at just about anytime of the day. There are multiple trails available within the park, some that loop around back to the start, and some that cross over the main road within the park putting you on connected trails on the other side. Some trails are a little bit more rugged, whereas other trails are somewhat paved and not so rugged. There are tons of grilling stations, along with bench/table seating areas, for those that wish to grill out and have a great day. Plenty of restrooms are also available. During the summer, these areas are normally packed with people, enjoying the summer fun! Additionally, Ramsey Creek Park has a boat ramp from which you can leave/return or make a pitstop from another location on the water. Ramsey Creek Park is really a great destination, a hidden gem, in the Cornelius area! If you have an opportunity to visit the park, don't miss out on a variety of activities and fun for the entire family!

My husband…read moreand I attended the opening show of their free summer concert series, and we were in awe of how well-maintained this park is, and how organized our entire experience was. We arrived around 5:30 PM to claim our seats on the lawn, and thankfully we were able to find a parking spot right near the pedestrian bridge across the street. The city posted a very detailed map of parking options on their Instagram page ... and the amazing thing is, not only is all of that parking free, but there is a free shuttle that will take folks back and forth to their spots if they are unable to walk that far (or even if they just don't want to!) The openers started at 7 PM, and then the main act started around 8:15 PM. This gave the crowd plenty of time to get situated in their spots, grab some snacks, hit the restrooms, or even ride the carousel! This was a family-friendly outdoor concert, and they did a great job of having food/drink/activities for both kids and adults to enjoy. A glass of wine or a can of beer was just $5 each ... which felt like a steal since I'm used to spending more than double that for the same pour at other concert venues. The show itself was awesome ... we saw The Fray and they were everything we wanted them to be and more. The sound and lighting were both great. The layout of the park allowed many folks to stay in their folding chairs for the majority of the show, and still be able to see what was going on on-stage. Five stars all around for Village Park and the city of Kannapolis ... more cities should take note of what a great job they are doing here to engage their community!

Two friends and I each rented a one-person, sit-on-top kayak for the day. We spent a few hours just shootin' the breeze, wandering around narrow water ways and attempting to make our way to the waterfall of legend. Unfortunately, the water level was quite low when we went and we couldn't get quite that far up the stream to see it. It was a beautiful and breezy day with hardly anyone visiting at the time due to coronavirus starting to pick up but quarantine not yet required. Worked out in our favor and was a calm day out. The guy running the shop was very funny and easy going. The kayaks and paddles are a bit beat up from lots of use - it's a good idea to inspect what you get before heading out so that you don't have any issues. As mentioned, prices seem a bit high. However, the prices are for a full day rental. The owner recommended bringing a cooler and getting there early to spend the entire day out on the water drinking beers. Sounds like a good plan for the next time we come out.

Okay now with that being said the place is just so badly run down, It needs a make over, they have cut cost on furniture, it appears when you walk in, in my opinion like it is a fly by night organization that just moved in yesterday said lets get some cheap furniture from goodwill and get this business going. The same feel translates to the boat itself, box lunches, cheap tables and chairs, there is nothing premier about this place, but for a nice tour of the lake, it was perfect. So keep your expectations to a very low mark come out here with some kids or like we did a work group just to get a relaxing cruise and enjoy the view. One thing they do need to prioritize in my opinion is setting aside 1 day a week and pay the staff to come out and clean the boats from top to bottom, it will cut down on lengthy maintenance in the long run and make a party of it, buy pizza and let them take ownership in the main reason for this place even existing. I spent 8 years in the Navy and know how important on small boats PM (Preventive Maintenance). Strive to be a just a little better, I want to give you 5 stars but myself and anyone else that comes out , you need to help us.

Onboard there was a musician who sang a number of classics during the journey, he happened to be setup near our table so we had an upfront view. The food was good overall. When we were seated, we found salads on the table for each seat. It was comprised of iceberg lettuce that was slightly brown and topped with dressing - Italian I think. The salad was unappealing but the rest of the meal was slightly better. I had chicken with mashed potatoes, broccoli and a roll as an entree. Some in our party ordered the salmon, which they raved about. We skipped dessert since our group brought a cake to celebrate the anniversary. The staff was nice enough to cut it for us and serve it also with a glass of champagne. Although a dinner cruise is a great experience, the boat itself is very old and in need of major updates. This was pretty disappointing as I expected a modern experience. I think it needs a major overhaul, which of course would likely result in a price increase. It would be worth it. C
