I like the layout, with cabinets I can open to see everything I have, or close to hide it. This works a lot better than drawers for me. I found the bed more comfortable than Hilton's for some reason. The staff here are absolute gems - helpful, knowledgeable, kind and welcoming. Their service made my time here exponentially better!

I wasn't sure what to expect from some of the reviews but I was warmly greeted when I arrived and asked what welcome gift I wanted. I chose the breakfast voucher. I was provided a bottle of water and given a layout of the hotel and even restaurant recommendations. The clerk saw that I had a feather free room request so put me in a feather free room on the 4th floor in the Dogwood Wing. So this saved me from sneezing all night and was much appreciated. The hotel is older but my room appeared updated and was clean. I could tell it was well maintained. The hotel is far enough away from I-40 that I did not hear any highway noise and got a wonderful night of sleep. Noise did start in the morning from construction next door but that is out of the hotel's control and I was awake at that point. So it didn't start too early. My room had a mini fridge and microwave. The water pressure was good. I liked the safety grab bar in the shower as I did almost slip on the PVC floor when it was a little wet. The hotel has a pool and hot tub as well as an exercise room but I wasn't there long enough to use either. I didn't care for the breakfast but service was friendly. I will skip that on my return visit on Friday. I was originally booked at the Fairfield as the Marriott site wouldn't let me book just a night at Courtyard but when I checked again it did. Since I was concerned with traffic noise I decided to do another night here as I enjoyed my stay and felt welcome by the staff. Second Stay: Check in was friendly but I wasn't given a bottle of water. I was put in the Cardinal Wing on the top floor and could slightly hear the traffic at times but the fan covered up any noise. The hotel was full or almost this stay so there was hallway noise and someone woke me up at 7am, so more soundproofing would have been appreciated. But I do like this hotel and will return again.

DON'T STAY HERE! You have been warned! If there was a way…read moreto rate -10 that would be my score for this place. They failed in every possible way. They give the franchise and the hospitality industry a very bad name. Front desk lacks customer service skills and just plain common courtesy. I work in the customer service industry and if I spoke to my customers the way they spoke to me, I would not have a job. The business practice is lacking ethics as they charged me $100.00 deposit for a non-smoking room and warned me about it not being refunded should smoking take place in the room and when we opened the door to room 202 it reeked of cheap cigarette smell. It took a great deal of effort and arguing to get a room that did not stink. I had to listen to a million excuses as to why it was ok for them to verbally assault me about the smoking in the room to then give a room with such unpleasant smell. The manager of this location has no professional training, use of language or knowledge concerning problem resolution. As is the head so goes the body. I am a 60 year old woman who almost fell down twice going up the stairs because the stairs are not all the same height, yet, he made me come to the office to get a piece of paper that he said he needed signed and would not provide me a copy of. I pray the lady in housekeeping finds a new job before this place permanently shuts down. If they served breakfast or not, I don't know because I did not care to eat there just so I did not have to see their faces again. I used the text they sent to my phone reminding me of my time to leave 3 hours before check out and never asked if I wanted to add another day, not that I would have. Once was enough and never again, if you want to have a pleasant stay and can afford a few dollars more don't stay at this location. I will never stay at this place ever again, in my opinion Days Inn should revoke the use of their name because after this I would not stay at another Days Inn anywhere ever because if they tolerate this type of conduct from management in one place they condone it anywhere. I will not list all the areas where they failed, they are not worthy of such courtesy. They are not receptive to counsel, and I will not cast my pearls to the swine and this place is a pig-sty! Their best employee is the lady from house-keeping and there are plenty other places this lady can find work. I am waiting to see the final bill because they list the $100.00 deposit as add-ons and require a signature. I read the bill and required a note stating it was a deposit and the initials from the manager who would not do it until I signed the document. I refused to sign it until he wrote on it. He did not like it but I was not about to sign it without the necessary amendment. Way too much unnecessary drama for two single, older females to have to put up with for a 2 night stay. Had I been able to cancel, I would have done so in a minute. Next time they say no cancel policy, no book till I see the room. They just made it harder on themselves.

Yes, it's cheap, and convenient, and it's being renovated, the bedroom portion was comfortable and clean, but the bathroom was not. There's plenty of stores nearby such as Walmart, Costco, Sam's Club, gas stations and more! Location definitely gets a star! No one was at the front desk and there was a sign that they were helping out another guest but they just came out from the back. It took 5+ minutes to wait and get greeted and then another 5 minutes to check in. Breakfast was superb, probably one of the better buffet breakfasts! That alone gets another star. Rooms were okay, a good size but what they didn't show was that though there's a "kitchen" area, there's no plates, dishes, cups, only a half fridge and microwave. No pots, no nothing. Something to keep in mind if you're wanting a full kitchen. Noise level was very minimal. I barely heard any outside noise! No racing cars, no loud guests walking outside our room. That deserves another star! Beds were not but also not good. My back hurt after a few days and it was hard to stay asleep. Overall, it was an okay stay. I don't know if I would return to this location if ever in the area again. It was okay, got the job done for what we needed.
