We were on campus today for "Floats with Grandparents". It was a hot day and those root beer floats were very refreshing! Everyone did a good job putting on the event and the kids had fun. Thoughtfully planned to coincide with the school's book fair, so we got to visit that, too! Large, clean campus. Lots of grass and mature trees. This prevents loitering in the halls, keeps students safe and helps teachers peacefully prepare for their class. Breakfast is offered every school day at 7:30AM (when the gate opens.) The school prepared my middle daughter for the challenges of University High School, and she will graduate from UC Davis as a double major with honors this spring. Additionally, our youngest daughter has benefited by going the whole route from kindergarten through 8th grade, and has really thrived in middle school. I couldn't be happier to have paid for the education they have gotten, and I hope other who really care about their child's education can benefit from this school as well.

The Carden method of teaching also includes physical education, music, French and art which leads to well-rounded children. The small campus also creates wonderful lifelong friendships amongst the students. If you are looking to prepare your child for high school and college, I am not aware of any school in Fresno / Clovis that better prepares them than Carden. After graduating from Carden your child will thrive in their next level of education.

He's in 3rd now and after 3+ years, I can attest, the staff is amazing and the parents are very involved, especially compared to neighboring schools/districts (I have friends who teach/sub at these schools). Quail Lake really is something special. I'm sure the school has its flaws, but we haven't found them yet ;)

The front desk support staff is fantastic, and all meetings are a two-for-one because it grants access to Clovis North (high school) and Granite Ridge (middle school). The staff and volunteers are friendly, and you can tell they care about the students. I have always felt welcome on campus, yet (justifiably) under the watchful eye of the administration. And I consider taking ardent safety seriously a huge plus. The campus is beautiful and clean. I wish there were more trees for shade (this coming from a day that was 108 degrees). But, overall, CNEC is awesome.

You're required to ask just to use the bathroom, which feels unnecessary since it should be basic. You only get 5 minutes per pass and 3 passes a day, which is extremely limiting. Even being late a couple of times in a whole semester can get you detention, which feels over the top. A lot of the staff come off as disrespectful, and the overall environment feels negative and strict rather than supportive. The social atmosphere isn't great either, with a lot of students being judgmental and insincere, which makes it hard to feel comfortable. Overall, it feels like the school is more focused on enforcing rules, grades, and achievements than actually supporting students or creating a healthy learning environment. If someone has the option, going somewhere else would probably be a better experience.
