I asked about their daily routines & what they do daily & I was given schedules, was shown examples of same age school subjects/activities done. And last, my girls do not come home overly dirty.

This is a small town and there aren't that many child care facilities here I thought I was doing my…read morekids good by sending them to a center instead of a home daycare but after a short time at YBR they are now in a better environment with a home daycare. My first red flag should have been that they had the kids playing outside when there were advisories to stay in because of the poor air quality from the fires. I'm only going to review the experience that I had directly with this center because I often had a relative who would pick up and drop off the kids for me. The plus is that they provide transportation from the schools, they have a third party (mom and daughter) who have a van and pick kids up from the different schools and bring them to YBR for after school care. The times that I went in to the center myself, it was just my observation that none of the teachers looked happy, including the program director, Karen. That should have been my second red flag, but I thought maybe it was just early that they are tired. The thing that made me stop bringing my kids here is that their communication isn't the greatest they could improve on how they let parent's know when their kids are running low on diapers or other materials that they need to make them comfortable throughout the day. That said, my son ran out of diapers and no one called us to come bring him any he had pooped and they left him in a dirty diaper for so long that his entire bottom was red and irritated he cried when I gave him a bath because it hurt. I put my 2 weeks in right away and literally felt sick with worry the whole time they were there. After giving my 2 weeks and letting Karen know why she responded and said that they had gone out to play he must have pooped out there and when he was picked up no one checked him before leaving. That would have been believable except for how severe my sons bottom was inflamed and his BM dried and was very stuck to his butt it seemed that he was that way for a long time. In any case, if that is really what happened to him, in my opinion, and with my experiences with other child care providers, a better response would have been to apologize and let the parent know how they are going to avoid something like that happening (ie. next time we will be sure to check children before they leave or at least offer to change before leaving) instead of making excuses. I hope YBR does better I wouldn't want this happening to someone else's child.

They were at full capacity, so I had to find another school that had room for him, so I had enrolled him in another school. After 1:2 months at the school I had enrolled him into, Pennington's Little Friends had contacted me and informed me there's an open seat for my son. I had asked myself, he's already at the other school getting acclimated, so should I have him withdrawal and attend this one? After careful consideration, I had my child withdrawal from the school he was attending and enrolled him into Pennington's Little Friends. This is, of course, with the help of the administrator, Maria. She is the sweetest and God bless her soul. I had went in to request for a tour, and she meticulously showed me around the class and provided me a schedule and break down of what the kids did hour by hour till the end of the day. She is friendly, polite, professional, sweet, and easy to talk to. I love that when my son gets picked up, I am greeted with his day:day project he creates in class. My sons' projects demonstrate his teacher's ability to care, to be attentive, to show and teach my son to bring out his skills, to develop new skills and let it shine! My son has only been there for a month, and he's learned so many new words. He impresses me all the time. No Mother's Day celebration no Cinco de Mayo celebration no holiday celebrations or birthday goodies even if it's from the store. If the reason for no birthday goodies is the sugar and the dyes then I'm confused as to why they serve chips and gold fish and other snacks like that. But because I work a full time job the hours of this preschool is extremely convenient. The teachers are caring and loving, my daughter loves them. One time I walked in the classroom thon pick up my daughter and she was alone with a male teacher, I wasn't even aware of this. Wasn't made aware of a new teacher much less that my daughter will be alone with him at times in the evenings. I had an issue with one teacher, my daughter told me she grabbed her hand really tight and squeezed it. I immediately let the school site director know. Not too sure what happened besides a meeting because that teacher is still there. And I wasn't the only parent that complained about her for the same reason. Just recently my daughter told me her classroom was hot for a lot of days, and I couldn't understand if she said she had to sleep on the floor or had to sleep in room four because it was too hot. No teacher ever informed of this and school site director never informed me of this either, doesn't come to a surprise since the bathroom by my daughters class had been leaking for weeks maybe longer. My daughter even told me that a little girls slipped and bumped her head, I brought up to one of the assistants attention and nothing wasn't fixed at all. This year was supposed to a fun and exciting last year for my daughter and us as she was expected to graduate or promote from preschool wearing a cap and gown like they have all other previous years for I don't even know how long. But last minute the decision was changed, 3 weeks ago 5/31. They will not be wearing a cap and gown no ceremony like they've done previously. The main director in Carlsbad know every parent is upset, I have called multiple times to receive an explanation, so she can hear me out and allow them to wear cap and gowns. But she is extremely rude over the phone, no manners. Hard to believe she's in the position she's in talking to parents that way she does. How is the voices of parents of the students they teach not important! Another of the directors said that we couldn't afford a cap and gown that we are low income families. I do not recommend this preschool if you feel that your opinion and voice as parent is important. If you feel that you need to be aware and update of any and all changes of your child's preschool.
