My child has attended this preschool for 2 years. For the most part I've been happy with the…read moreprogram just confused about why they're so strict. No Mother's Day celebration no Cinco de Mayo celebration no holiday celebrations or birthday goodies even if it's from the store. If the reason for no birthday goodies is the sugar and the dyes then I'm confused as to why they serve chips and gold fish and other snacks like that. But because I work a full time job the hours of this preschool is extremely convenient. The teachers are caring and loving, my daughter loves them. One time I walked in the classroom thon pick up my daughter and she was alone with a male teacher, I wasn't even aware of this. Wasn't made aware of a new teacher much less that my daughter will be alone with him at times in the evenings. I had an issue with one teacher, my daughter told me she grabbed her hand really tight and squeezed it. I immediately let the school site director know. Not too sure what happened besides a meeting because that teacher is still there. And I wasn't the only parent that complained about her for the same reason. Just recently my daughter told me her classroom was hot for a lot of days, and I couldn't understand if she said she had to sleep on the floor or had to sleep in room four because it was too hot. No teacher ever informed of this and school site director never informed me of this either, doesn't come to a surprise since the bathroom by my daughters class had been leaking for weeks maybe longer. My daughter even told me that a little girls slipped and bumped her head, I brought up to one of the assistants attention and nothing wasn't fixed at all. This year was supposed to a fun and exciting last year for my daughter and us as she was expected to graduate or promote from preschool wearing a cap and gown like they have all other previous years for I don't even know how long. But last minute the decision was changed, 3 weeks ago 5/31. They will not be wearing a cap and gown no ceremony like they've done previously. The main director in Carlsbad know every parent is upset, I have called multiple times to receive an explanation, so she can hear me out and allow them to wear cap and gowns. But she is extremely rude over the phone, no manners. Hard to believe she's in the position she's in talking to parents that way she does. How is the voices of parents of the students they teach not important! Another of the directors said that we couldn't afford a cap and gown that we are low income families. I do not recommend this preschool if you feel that your opinion and voice as parent is important. If you feel that you need to be aware and update of any and all changes of your child's preschool.

The previous school was more worried about meeting funding requirements than the needs of my kid and the staff seemed annoyed by her cause she is headstrong. Growing Patch loves my kid and her quirks. They have curriculum and I feel like they are really preparing her for kindergarten. They take field trips, have community members come in and speak to the classes, they even have some extracurriculars on site. The teachers are professional and actually like kids and what they do. Most importantly they KNOW my kid and meet her where she is. I honestly don't know how they do it all but they do. She has been there for just over a year now and I continue to be impressed by their staff and her growth. I'm going to be so sad when she leaves this place. She absolutely loves it and looks forward to going every day. It's affordable but I'd pay more for my kid to go there!

I have nothing but good things to say about Nancy Fuller Children's University (Madera). My son has…read morebeen at this location for 2.5 years, and we've had a wonderful experience. My son was originally in a smaller in-home daycare center but transitioned to NFCU as he became older and needed more quality interaction. My son experienced some small struggles upon his initial transition, nothing out of the ordinary with change, but the NFCU team quickly identified his needs and helped to make his transition smooth. Fast forward a year later, and my son was transitioning into the pre-school class. Like most kids, this was a very big change for him. A larger group setting, fine motor skill activities, and more involved math, science, and literacy activities. Plus, the need for growth in behavioral skills! My son struggled with attention span, maturity, and patience. (like all kids do). The team at NFCU did an amazing job at identifying my sons pain points and finding alternative activities when my son became overwhelmed. Each day they worked to incorporate an extra minute in his circle time, until finally he could make it through the entire circle time. They allowed him to be a class volunteer and help pass out supplies or prepare for activities when he would start to get the wiggles and needed to get up and do busy work. My son is now fully engaged and on track with where he needs to be at this stage of pre-school. All the providers, the Campus Director, and Nancy herself, have been extremely involved in the overall success of my son's experience and I couldn't be more thankful. I look forward to this next year and plan to continue to use NFCU for his before and after school care, once he transitions to Kindergarten.

Nancy, Robin and all of the staff are amazing and always friendly. I've sent all four of my children to this daycare. Any time I had a concern it was immediately resolved. My children are 13, 12, 6 and 5, they are amazing little people and in large part due to Nancy Fuller Childrens University.
