HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! It's so hard to trust a daycare these days but after meeting with Patricia and Carla for the first time, my husband and I had a great feeling about them. My daughter warmed up so easily. I can't say enough great things about Patricia and Carla. They are genuinely caring, trustworthy women and provide such a loving and educational environment for our daughter. Our daughter is always so happy at drop-off that she doesn't even turn around for a second look! We love getting the picture updates and projects they complete at daycare. We are moving away and so incredibly sad to be leaving otherwise she'd be there for years! And the price is very reasonable-- they provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks. read more

Horrible Experience She took advance payment and was very disrespectful when I arrived 5 minutes early as I have to drive to my work and said you cant leave kid 5 minutes early. I always had kids in daycare or preschool where they are kind enough to accommodate few minutes early drop of if needed ( off course for work) as no one will drop kids early for fun. She stated oh then everyone will come early. I was surprised by her response as she should understand the primary reason why I am leaving kid here and should be accommodative of my schedule or at least not disrespectful. I didnt take my kid there after that and she never bothered to ask or give money back for few weeks taken in advance. I don not recommend this place. read more

Words cannot express how happy I am with First Step Daycare! My child has been going there for a few months now and it has been the best decision I have made. Patricia and Carla are so kind and loving toward the kids. They have been amazing with working with the kids on both academic and social emotional learning. They also really understand child development and are able to meet the unique needs of each child. I know my child is in good hands with Patricia and Carla and highly recommend this daycare to anyone looking! read more

It is a great place for kids. Very reliable and safe. Definitely worth it. Felt very welcomed.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Patricia and Carla. It's always a hard choice to place your child in a new environment but we soon saw these two loved our son as if he was their own. He has truly thrived in their care and they have expanded his love for learning. While it is time for our son to transition to a more traditional school type setting, we know he has the proper foundation thanks to First Step. We are eternally grateful for our time here. If you're looking for a daycare with both educational structure and a family type feel, this is the place for you. read more

First step day care has been phenomenal for our almost 3 year old. Our child started here when she had just turned one and has spent almost 2 years here. Patricia and Carla are the kindest care givers you will ever find . We felt so reassured when we first met them to learn about the daycare. They were so patient and worked with us through various phases of stranger anxiety that our toddler experienced . They maintain the daycare spic and span and are always sanitizing. They follow a great schedule every day and make sure to engage the toddlers in learning activities. They also provide all home cooked meals and snacks and will work with you on food restrictions if any. Overall , I highly recommend First step and could not be happier with the care our child received here. read more

We love Patricia and Carla. They were really great in taking our 2 boys and even had a nice transition plan for them to start. Right when we got into a good routine, the pandemic hit and everything changed. The Fresno area will be lucky to have these two, I promise you won't be disappointed. read more

5 stars is not nearly enough to rate this incredible second home for our daughter. Patricia and Carla have become family and we can't wait for our next child to begin going back for care while we work. The environment for the children is one where they feel nurtured and loved. Along with that the children learn the basics like counting, ABCs and best of all, manners! If you are looking for care for your little one, don't hesitate to give them a visit to see for yourself! read more

I had my older son for 3 years there and now I have my younger one for almost 3 years and they are amazing!!! Patricia, Carla and all the staff are so caring with my kids and taught them so much that I could not have ask for better care for them! Choosing the right Day Care for your child can be stressful but if you talk to them you will see immediately that they are truthful, caring and the best choice. read more

Honestly the only downside of this daycare is the day your child ages out! Putting our son in another school reminds me how fortunate we have been with Pati and Karla. You know your child is loved and care for with them. Also they run a very structured and a rich learning environment. My son always wanted to go to school and talked about all of his friends when he wasn't there. We all miss them so much. If you're fortunate enough to get a spot here take it!! The added culture and multiple languages and diversity of kids are also amazing. Even now as my son is attending a new school, he still cries for Pati and Karla daily. When you work--there's nothing more comforting than your child being cared for and loved so significantly. Wonderful place and wonderful people! read more

My wife and I have been so happy with First Step Day Care ever since our son's first day attending. We have observed our son's social and language skills blossom, and continue to blossom every single day. We love the structure they provide as well (educational activities, music and movement, arts and crafts, exercise, story time, etc). Most importantly, we have complete trust in Patricia and Carla and appreciate their continuous kindness and attentiveness. First Step is truly a gem. read more

This review is long overdue! Our little Morgan attended First Step daycare several years ago and the bar has been set so high since then! Morgan was an infant at First Step and got the very best care, education and love that a parent could ask for. We loved dropping Morgan off every morning and, years later, still talk about the wonderful environment at First Step. If we hadn't moved out of state, she would still be there! read more

I have nothing but good things to say about this daycare. As a first time mamma, it was extremely hard for me to leave my daughter and get back to work. But to my good luck I met these lovely ladies at First step daycare. My daughter loved it! Patricia and Carla genuinely love the kids and take care of them like their own. My daughter learned numbers, alphabets, days of the week, everything there! I love the way they keep things nice, fresh and clean. And they have a beautiful and well maintained play area in their backyard too. They are very professional in communication and all other aspects too. She went there for 6 months and we had to move out of San Diego so she had to leave. We miss you Patti and Carla! read more

Both of our kids attended First Step and we could not be more grateful for Patricia and Carla. The peace of mind that we had when we dropped our kids off every morning was invaluable. The love and attention that Patricia and Carla show all the kids is wonderful, they care for all of the kids as if they were their own. We would recommend First Step to anyone who is looking for day care. read more

Patricia and Carla are fantastic! We were so pleased with the care they gave our two year old daughter. We really saw her blossom and learn so much, from talking more clearly to singing whole songs (like the Alphabet) by herself. We always felt confident leaving her with them and could see the care and love they have for all the children there. We would highly recommend First Step Day Care! read more

I will for sure recommend First Step Day Care to my friends who need a daycare for their little ones! Patricia and Carla both are such loving and caring people that we really can trust and worry less when we are at work! During the first few days after dropping off my little girl, they would send me the photos and updates about how she did during the day which really took away my worries. Not only does my little one loves both Patricia and Carla, so do I! read more

I brought my son to First Step 4 years ago, still thankful to this day that I found this place. Patricia runs an amazing day care. After touring many other places, First Step is the cleanest and most organized. Nothing looked old or worn down, everything is well maintained. Patricia also provides learning curriculum, music, art, outside play, letters and numbers recognition. Meals are healthy and home cooked. The most amazing things about First Step is the genuine love and care they show for each child. Patrica not only watched my son, but also cared about his well being. Her and her staff show equal concern and love for every kid. They help them through milestones and become involved in the child's development and growing stages. They are great at catching signs of any concerns and not afraid to communicate with the parents. They understand the importance of the child's well being and leave no room for second guessing. As a new Mom, Patricia really helped me a lot through some learning stages myself. Patricia and Carla are so experienced they quickly became my support team when it came to parenthood. I can't thank them enough for all they've done for me and my family. It was very easy for me to drop off my son everyday knowing he was in a safe and loving environment. Patrícia and Carla are a natural when it comes to caring for children. The best is knowing they treat every child like their own family. I could not have asked for a better day care. read more

Patricia is kind and genuinely caring. After hearing so many horror stories from coworkers I am glad that I was able to get my son a spot. Thanks you both read more

We love Patricia and Carla. They were the most loving and best environment for our little girl. Coming from another in home daycare that was very "business" like, it was refreshing to drop off our daughter at First Step Daycare and get hugs and kisses everyday. These ladies genuinely love the kids they take care of. My daughter started around 1 year and stayed for the entire school year. They provide a structured, hands-on approach to their day. They home cook all meals and they communicate EVERY DAY with you. Each day after I would pick up my daughter, I would get an email stating how much she ate, how long her nap was, her general mood, and occasionally some pictures of her day. I would highly recommend this inhome daycare to any parent! If we didn't move out of state, we would still be at First Step Daycare. Another plus..my daughter learned a few Portuguese words! We love Patricia and Carla! read more
