The front desk support staff is fantastic, and all meetings are a two-for-one because it grants access to Clovis North (high school) and Granite Ridge (middle school). The staff and volunteers are friendly, and you can tell they care about the students. I have always felt welcome on campus, yet (justifiably) under the watchful eye of the administration. And I consider taking ardent safety seriously a huge plus. The campus is beautiful and clean. I wish there were more trees for shade (this coming from a day that was 108 degrees). But, overall, CNEC is awesome.

You're required to ask just to use the bathroom, which feels unnecessary since it should be basic. You only get 5 minutes per pass and 3 passes a day, which is extremely limiting. Even being late a couple of times in a whole semester can get you detention, which feels over the top. A lot of the staff come off as disrespectful, and the overall environment feels negative and strict rather than supportive. The social atmosphere isn't great either, with a lot of students being judgmental and insincere, which makes it hard to feel comfortable. Overall, it feels like the school is more focused on enforcing rules, grades, and achievements than actually supporting students or creating a healthy learning environment. If someone has the option, going somewhere else would probably be a better experience.

Teachers are rude faculty did not help after we reported him being bullied (it just got worse) Worst school ever do NOT send your children here. I was Helped quickly (getting the paperwork I needed to do campus visitation). The only thing that makes Clovis West tough for me is that there isn't really a centralized location for the kids during lunch time. As is, the students are spread out all across campus (with lots of secret nooks and crannies or young lovers to suck face). On a more serious note, though, I'd have to imagine it is a security issue. But hey, it's friendly and clean with a good sense of school spirit. Oh, also, it's hard to figure out where visitor parking in; so I park on the road (pretty far from the front office).

The educators are good, but the controlling interests of the school are sports. It's why my family and so many others have found better spots for our kids. Check out Clovis Christian or Immanuel if you want a system that truly cares about your kids, because I can tell you for a fact that the admin at Fresno Christian does not care. They will absolutely prioritize athletes that don't even go to the school for a chance at a valley championship. And again, this is only true about admin, not the teachers. Most of the teachers are good and truly care.

My oldest child has been going there since she was around a year and a half, and is about to age…read moreout only because she's going to be attending Kindergarten at an elementary school not in Clovis Unified. Enrolling her here was my saving grace when I went back to work, and it still is. Seeing how excited she is everyday to tell me about everything she learned and about how good her day was is the best feeling for a parent. Enrolling is not cheap, but it's worth every penny. We enjoy the summer activities, holiday festivities and everything else they put together for the kids and families. It was an easy decision when it came to enrolling our second child. And since we already had that rapport built with the administrative staff and great relationships with the teachers, we were still comfortable starting our child in the infant classroom (even though our first didn't start there). Zero regrets. The app is great for communicating the Ms. Tasha and the teachers. Response times are great, and the attitudes of the teachers are always positive. We love KinderCare and our kids love being there too.

Absolutely terrific small Catholic elementary and middle school…read more My nephew lives with me four months out of the year, and when he's here I enroll him in OLPH. English isn't his first language, and I don't want him in an enormous middle school where, because he's a newcomer and a "temporary" student, he'd probably be overlooked academically and socially. That, and I don't want him lose a week's worth of education to endure the battery of state- and federally-mandated tests that mean nothing to him and to me. The staff of OLPH are wonderful, from the principal to the teachers to the office staff. Enrolling him is a snap. The principal greets us by name on the first day. (How she remembers our names from year to year I'll never know.) Teachers are accommodating and easy to get hold of as a parent/guardian; moreover, they work with him before school and after school when he first arrives to bring him up to speed academically (he's enrolled from March-June). And because classes are really small, he also gets lots of individual attention during class time. My nephew spends time with me in California primarily to improve his English, and even though OLPH doesn't have a special curriculum for language-minority students - he's just one of two or three English as a Second Language kids in the whole school - I see a tremendous improvement in his English speaking, reading, and writing every year, and I'm sure that's due in large part to the individual attention and friendly atmosphere he experiences at OLPH. I'm also impressed with the discipline I see on campus and in classrooms. There are no children running amok; I've never seen a classroom where the teacher wasn't in 100% control of the situation; and the kids are polite to every adult they encounter. I've never been on a public middle school campus where kids will routinely smile and greet adults they don't know, and I've been in hundreds of public middle schools in my life. The folks at OLPH do a fantastic job. As a parent/guardian, I couldn't ask for better.

I've been part of this parish community for decades and have grown increasingly saddened and…read moretroubled by the direction of the school and church under current Priest Michael. The priest has brought an extreme conservative ideology to this role that is completely out of character with the tone and values this church has always represented -- none of his predecessors led this way. Policies have changed in ways that feel exclusionary and fear-based, and when families have raised concerns, they haven't been heard. The community that made this church and school special is being eroded. I'd encourage anyone considering this school to ask leadership directly about their policies on family inclusion before enrolling. And I'd encourage longtime parishioners to ask the same questions of the priest and the diocese. The answers may surprise you.
