Hard to believe this is the first review of this fine school. I've been living up in Prather for over 30 years and have had plenty of great experiences with "Foothill". Our kids have all grown up here and turned out great thanks to the teachers and staff who have always shown a high degree of professionalism and a unique ability to connect with and teach our kids. The staff treats the children and parents like family and their hands on style of teaching gets great results and seems to get through to the kids in a way that cannot be achieved in the overcrowded classrooms of the city. Clovis may be a way of life, but Foothill is a way of success. Crazy Bernie could live anywhere in the world, but I choose Prather, and feel very good about the Sierra school district teaching my Son, Granddaughters and soon to be born Grandson. read more

Our daughter has been going here for two school years now and as parents who have raised children in both the Fresno and Clovis USD we couldn't be happier with where we are. We are finishing up the Kindergarten year and Mrs. Larman has been an absolutely AMAZING teacher! The principal, Dr. Harris is very involved, hands on and genuinely loves these teachers, staff, students, and school. The sense of community and the enthusiasm to learn that they instill in these children to SOAR like eagles is off the charts! As a family we are looking forward to our child going through all the grade levels here and are excited about the education being received! We joke about how it feels like a private education! As a former clovis, fresno and sierra unified student I have personally experienced all 3 districts. Sierra unified is the most unprofessional district that has nothing to offer any of my children. They do not have a real music program, sports program (unless u pay outside of school) or any after school activities for children up here. The teachers complain that 25 students is too many for them to handle and that is why they cannot give one on one attention. The teachers do not push for success here and do not strive to reach realistic goals for children. They do not give perfect attendance awards but hand out soaring awards like candy. This district is a small community and they say it's like a family. It is NOT. I have still (after three years) haven't met one nice person who doesn't judge you by who you know or your child. All these people up here judge everything you do or what your child does or doesn't do. Who needs a community like that?? Not us!! But Unfortunately We're Stuck In This CRAPPY District For now. Unless you want a future in agriculture then this place is a joke. read more
