I LOVE Cloudburst Brewing. The beer selection is varied and top-notch. The service is friendly and efficient and I am always made to feel welcome, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. I have enjoyed their beer at both the Western Avenue and Shilshole locations, as well as at home in their four-pack pint carryouts. The stories (and art) associated with each of their brews is hysterical and provocative. Although I am a HUGE IPA fan, I've enjoyed a few of their other offerings and have never been disappointed. One word of advice: they produce small batches (especially compared to the mega-beer manufacturers), so if you find something you really like, enjoy it as much as you can because it won't last long. The silver lining is that there is ALWAYS something else brewing and being served up. You can't lose. Give them a try. You'll be as big a fan as me! :) read more

Subtly tucked away near by Pikes Place Market lies a craft brewery bursting with flavor and wit. I was highly recommend to check this place out for any of their IPAs. I even had the chance to drink a special barrel aged stout. The menus to the untrained eye are just full of humor, but if you read closely, the flavor profile and the overall takeaway feeling is all there. But you can always ask a friendly bartender(?) / barista(?) what you like and they will steer you in the right direction. Dog friendly, but unfortunately no minors allowed. read more

Cool barebones warehouse space with great beer, just tucked in near pike place market. They have a variety of IPAs on tap, and being from New England, it was fun to try out and compare the styles. 10 and 16 oz options, which is nice for us lightweights! I visited cloudburst this past week while visiting from California. This is a place that is always on my list in Seattle as the beer is great. This particular visit the beer was just as good, however the beertender working was being very rude. When I showed my ID to him he scoffed and said "California huh" and preceded to say that I was barely old enough to drink when I'm well above 21. I ordered whatever he recommended because I trust them. When I got my beer I sat down about 20 feet from the bar and he was obviously talking about me. He mentioned that people from California never know what they want and don't know anything about beer. I've been working in beer for close to 5 years and know my way around beer. They also kept staring at me and my wife. This just through me for a loop considering how high I value this place. It was a huge bummer. If you are going to talk bad about me, at least have the decency to wait till I leave. Don't get me wrong, great beer, just a bad experience. read more

Several Seattle beer lovers recommended we check out Cloudburst, so yesterday we made sure to Google Maps that and get ourselves over here! Love the concept of this place. It looks like a garage spot became available for lease and some friends just set up a shanty bar inside of it, but in the best possible way. After the pretentious bar scene that is downtown Seattle this place was a very welcome sight. I loved the open garage door as well, and that the deep, narrow space allows you to be inside with the door open without it being frigid. The beer was great, and honestly I would be tempted to say this was my favorite brewery in Seattle. The cons for me were fixable problems, and that is that the bartender was a bit standoffish, and I really enjoy friendlier service. She definitely wasn't rude, just not very welcoming, which seemed out of place in this low key setting. Also, once the bar got busy it created a looooong line. I imagine if there was a way to stick two bartenders in here that problem would be solved, though. If we were ever to come back to Seattle we would definitely stop in here again, and I wish our city had something this casual in the middle of a very developed area. Definitely a standout bar and I would say they did a wonderful job with the space, and even better with the beer! The place was slammed at 3pm on a Friday. I was 10 deep to get to the bar. Skip the casual taste on this stop...unfortunate when it's the first time. I was told to check the descriptions. Ok...thanks. The dry hopped Pilsner was decent, but not great. I will probably give this place a midweek shot the next time I'm in town. We will give the beer 4 stars and service 2 stars. This brewery is very good but they take themselves a little too seriously. It was pouring rain and the hostess lady would not check our vaccination cards until exactly 2pm. They won't give tasters and won't do flights. It's a lot to ask a patron to pay $8 bucks for a beer only to take one sip and not like it. We are from Colorado where there are tons and tons of breweries and I've never been to one that doesn't at least give you a taste of a beer. read more

Solid little spot near the touristy pier area. Can get a little right with big crowds. Pro tip: don't sit near the bathrooms or the bar area as lines for both can wrap around. I don't really have a story to tell, but I will say that I knew this place was meant for me when I walked up last Saturday, and a dude sitting at the front table looking out on the street said, "come on in, and have a beer." I don't know said dude, he didn't work there, and he wasn't inviting me to sit with his entourage, but damn was it a good sign. The second good sign was when I walked up to the back of the brewery, and the music that was playing was 90's hip hop. I was welcomed by Busta's "Everything Remains Raw," followed by Nas' "Nas Is Like," then Souls' "93 Till Infinity," and finally Camp Lo's "Luchini. There is NOTHING better than drinking beer, and 90's hip hop. I'll wait for your rebuttal...in the meantime I'll say that who ever is charge of the music should get a raise. Salute! The brewery is no frills, and there's nothing wrong with that. They brew where they drink, as it should be. Its not that large, but there's about 20 tables, and you kind of just have to find a place to sit, or stand as it can get crowded. There's 16 beers on tap, and a little bar top in the back. It was like drinking in the unfinished basement from your youth, but with better booze. I had a few of their beers, and all where good. The Back and Forth Forever IPA, Hoodwink Red IPA, and Everything's Pine IPA. All different, and lighter as IPA's go, but all subtly good. Pints were $6, and you could get half, and ten ounce pours as well. The bar is small, but the service was fast, and friendly. This is my new favorite brewery in the downtown area. There are a lot of choice, and all are pretty good, but this place feels the most inviting, and laid back. Its away from the madness that is Pioneer Square, and that's all fine with me. Visiting Seattle and came in to grab a quick drink. We asked if they had any sours or fruity beers today and the hostess explained they don't, but most of their IPAs are citrus infused. Alright, however when we went to the bar, they were out of more than half of their selection before 4pm on a Sunday. Wish the hostess let us know this before hand. The bartender wasn't too friendly/informative either when asking questions about the few options they had left. She also checked the 20% tip option before we even touched the screen. Very low music volume and no tv's on during prime time football Sunday, would recommend elsewhere. read more

I love breweries and really wanted to try this place out. Unfortunately not much to say here. I came toward Pikes I was looking for a cool place to sit. Walked in, packed, walked to the back through a small walkway, the line was huge. Walked out, not made or conducive for large amounts of people. A place I will steer clear of. Some like it busy and long lines at the bathroom. Once I try it, maybe I'll rank it differently. A bit disappointing from an initial visit. A good bar slightly tucked away from the hype of pike place. They offer a few IPAs and stouts among their variety of beers. My 2 beers were about $6 each. No kids and no babies. Seating is slightly limited, so not ideal for big groups unless you arrive early or like to hover over tables. One of my favorite breweries in Seattle. It is usually pretty packed during the weekend. There is limited street parking but I always get lucky. They have plenty of chairs to sit on even if you don't get a table. The service is always great. They always have an amazing selection of great beers. Since I first came here I have become a loyal fan. One of the main things that also attracted me to this location is that children are not allowed only dogs. Thank youuuuu for this!!!!! I do get that parents want to have a drink and may not have anywhere to leave their kids but everyone else that is here to drink does not want to have to deal with kids running around or crying. I really don't get why soo many other breweries do allow children. These are places for adults only!!! cloudburst will be opening another location down south and at this location they will allow children but only at certain times which I'm not happy about but at least it's only at certain hours. We came upon this brewery by surprise while exploring near pikes place market. It had been on our list for awhile, and we were glad to have found it. A little bit of backstory - the founder of Cloudburst was originally from Elysian Brewing, and left when that brewery was acquired by Anheuser-Busch. Let me tell you, the beers here best any of those I've had from Elysian. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, the kind of place you can definitely hang out at for awhile. They have a wide selection of beer styles of all sorts - I would say it's the most creative brewery I've ever been to in that right. There's something for everyone and every mood. The selection is always changing too. The market fresh saison (brewed with coriander and jasmine) is light and lovely, very unique and creative flavor profile. The fresh frozen was delicious too - fresh, juicy, and with just the right amount of bitterness. Boyfriend had the fanfare and theme double ipa which was delicious - citrusy and fresh and full of hop flavor. The turn up the lights double ipa was delicious too - hoppy and bitter. My only very minor complaint is that they don't do tasting flights. I like being able to sample a little of everything a brewery has to offer without racking up a huge tab or overindulging, so this was a bit of a bummer. All in all though we will definitely be back next time we are in the area! read more

Great beer, but it's so so cold in here!! I don't believe that the brewery had any sort of central heating, so we were there drinking our beers with our jackets, gloves, and scarves all on!!! Cloudburst has some great beer options, so don't be afraid to take a risk and try something that sounds good on the board. I ended up getting the "Market Fresh 9", which is described as plum and green cardomom. I tried it and immediately fell in love with that one! It's not too hoppy and felt light enough, that I wasn't cringing at how full I was. The ambiance of the place is nice, except they have one small TV near the entrance of the brewery, which makes it hard to watch games (when they are on). Also, a very rustic vibe with charming decor, and a handful of tables. The one annoying thing is how loud the entrance ramp is - it disrupts all conversations in the bar when someone walks in. Overall, love this brewery and I'll be back in the future! read more

Cool little brewery close to Pike Place Market. No frills here folks: good beer with no undue fancying up of the venue. The place is small, can get cramped on a busy day and air circulation isnt the greatest so whatever the temp is outside, plan on that being the temp inside. Tasty beers and friendly staff. The day that I went, the menu was about 60% IPAs, a couple saisons, one stout, a pale ale and a brown. My favorite was the Market Fresh Saison made with passionfruit and mango. Good stuff read more

"Keys. Phone. Wallet" they've had me since the "Masters of IPA" festival in Portland in 2017. I volunteered for the first half of the fest, and that IPA "keys.Phone.wallet" was the talk among-the crowd. And, after volunteering I got to try a token's worth, and it was magnificent. I loved the concept behind the IPA name of "keys. Phone. Wallet" when drinking and buzzed, or just regular in life, even when I leave my work-completely sober at the end of the day, and often as my husband leaves our house, we use that as a mantra Keys (check) phone (check) wallet (check) then, we have the necessities and we are good to go on! And, since that introduction to their brewery I've been following them on instagram and have been lucky enough to visit them on-site by the pike place Market Twice until today's date. HOpefully, I will get to visit them more, after I type this! Overall, the beer is high quality beer, the brew master is very gifted and elected to leave the sell-out brewery that shall-not-be-named-that-starts-with-the-letter-E-and rhymes-with-shun. And, I love their concepts and themes with beer names, their Seinfeld references are premium! ANd, of course, I love that this place in Indy and is not disguised, and hiding where the money comes from like other- "pseudo-micro"-breweries-that-should-not-be-named. Overall, this place is a very simple tasting room, but the beers are amazing, and worth making the trek through the Seattle parking and traffic zoo! So in summation, the beer tastes good! A small brewery with a very non-descript front door (I almost passed it multiple times!). A chill little place that has a handful of tables and a bunch of amazing beers on tap. They had a few different IPAs which were all very different and tasty. They also had some darker porters and stouts that were incredibly flavorful (and filling). I think Holy Mountain and Urban Family have better beer, but this place is definitely better than your average brewery. For convenience, come here to try an interesting saison. I tend to like hipster spots but this place is a little close to the line. Would prefer a nicer (warmer) venue with better glassware, furniture, and friendlier bartenders.
