This company was recommended to me by a neighbor, and it's a real step up from the guys I hired to do my yard a few years back. Their website is down right now, so I don't really know what's up with that. Hopefully they're doing alright, because they're a quality outfit. Prompt, professional, and actually at a decent price! Called these people about two months ago to have my yard taken care of and possibly have a ba-b-que built. The man I talked to told me he was at lunch and he would call me back. If he wasn't going to take my call he should have let it go to voice mail but I guess his gut is more important. I have since had that BBQ built by a competitor and have my yard taken care of by them also. Business lost for cloud nine. BTW I still haven't received that call back. I had errands and other things to do, but I said yes and provided directions to the house and my phone number. We could not be happier to have chosen Cloud 9 to do our back yard. He showed up when he said he would. We had discussed what I wanted for the plants and he gave his opinion and I respected that. Im glad we did because of the end product. He used pavers to extend our patio out 8 ft and it butts up against a grassy area we had installed for our dogs. We watched how they were installed and were totally impressed. He put in a drip system for the planting and installed a sprinkler system for the grass which he tested to make sure they were working before he left. His workers were polite and respectful. I was approached by someone at my door, as my lot was still dirt. I received a call from Jim at Cloud 9 landscaping within 30 minutes, and within another 30 minutes he was at my home to provide me with an estimate. After deciding to go ahead and have Cloud 9 Landscape lay our yard, Jim was back that same day to write a receipt and to drop off equipment. He originally told me that with the monsoon it may take two or three days for the yard to be finished, I was overly thrilled when they arrived at 8:00 am the next morning and finished the entire yard by 3:00pm that same day. After initially missing an appointment to do an estimate, we are very happy. Jim is competitive with his pricing and we ultimately went with Cloud 9 to do our backyard landscape. Within hours of letting Jim know we wanted to go ahead with the landscape, he was delivering equipment to our home. The project took only a couple days and they were here working when they said they would be. We were able to choose exactly what we wanted and the finished project looks great. I recently hired Cloud 9 to do some irrigation work and planting and am thoroughly disappointed. I asked Jim directly if he was licensed and he said he was which help prompt my decision to go with them. Turns out his ROC license is suspended #271342. What I got for what I consider a lot of money was according to a few people including my wife and others was an argument between him and the guy working for him who did most of the work stating he is reducing his pay to $50 for the day after doing a poor job. It was a poor job, but not solely by his worker. Each area, Jim himself and the worker worked on, had issues. Jim did not take any measures that day to correct the work he felt was substandard, but instead called the job done and would have been happy with how the work was done. I was not home at the time and checked things afterwards. When I confronted him about the quality of the work that was performed and the argument he felt I was making false accusations for noting this and the litany of issues with the yard. I had asked him to show me the same respect he showed himself by reducing his employees pay for substandard work by lowering my bill. Jim did not feel the need to do so. I outlined a grass area for them to go by so the sprinklers would fall within those lines. They placed the sprinkler heads outside of that area in no less than four spots. I had to move one sprinkler head in a foot one way and just over 4 inches in another. The sprinkler line is run in a completely illogical fashion. Not one strait main line with four branches off of it, for easy maintenance, instead I have many more joints than necessary with two heads on their own short stub, joint to joint, increasing the failure point risk. I have exposed wire connected together for one of my valves which is the new wire put on by Jim himself. The new wire that actually does have a cap on is not taped to secure it and prevent debris or water from entering in. 11 of the 30 drip lines installed were not buried like the others. The sprinkler heads are 2 inch popups, but some extended 4 inches above the ground level while others were an inch. One was twisted back at an angle from the rest on the same run. I paid someone else to do this so I didn't have to. I also expect that when I pay a professional a lot of my money they do a professional level job. Neither happened here. No pride was taken in the work. What you will get if you hire Cloud 9 is an obstinate owner who is full of excuses, does not like constructive criticism, and is happy to reduce his workers pay, but not do the same for his customer. In other words he gave himself a raise for the job if the reduced pay to his employee is true and not just another excuse for paying him what he already had planned to. It is all of these factors that made me decide not to allow Jim back to "fix" the issues. I've seen the quality of work and how this business is conducted and I'm not a fan. Cloud 9 in my opinion is an unethical business. I highly recommend selecting someone else for your job. read more

We live out in queen creek and also have seen the trucks everywhere. I had called three different landscapers. Cloud nine was the first one that showed up and gave us a very good deal. He said it was on the table and if we waited to make our decision we wouldn't get the same price. Of course I'm only 23 bought a new house last year and had no idea how this was suppose to work.. But we told the deal and signed the contract. He said he'd start the very next day. I had to work so my mom stopped by to check everything out. He never ask me what plants I wanted or the border of the grass. When she stopped by to talk to him, he was a complete A**. She tried to ask him question like what brand of sprinkler heads he was using and he talk to her like she was dumb. She also asked him to cover the black hoses to the drip system. Which was never done. She wanted to kick him out of my backyard!! But didn't, know I wish she would have! Everything was done in three days. I paid him in cash half the day I signed the paper work (with a check) and then He'd give me back the check and I'd give him it all in cash. Of course when the day came he forgot the check at home. The whole thing was a horrible experience. Now he doesn't answer the phone. The voice mailbox is full! My border around the grass is falling apart he never cut the holes in the sod for the sprinklers. Most of the sprinkler head are to low to the grass. And two of my plants are died!! I'm not sure what I can even do about it. But I just want to warn anyone looking for a landscaper NOT to consider Cloud Nine landscaping! read more
