Just had a 2 hour massage and it was out of this world. The atmosphere, massage techs and front desk were great and very professional and welcoming. Jenny my massage tech was first rate and set the bar for what a massage techs should strive for. Thank you so much for the time and opportunity. 6/5 Stars! read more

My second time here, I took my own advice and booked a much longer combo session. They call it the 40/40, which is an hour and 20 minutes split between foot massage and body massage. Before the session, I was asked if there were any areas of my body that I would like the masseuse to focus on. My service was provided by Lisa. She was sweet, kind, and thoughtful. Lisa gave me a face and scalp massage before starting on my feet, and noticed how much I enjoyed it. So when I moved into the private space for my body massage, she gave my scalp another go. I was in heaven! The areas I had requested to focus on were my shoulders, neck, hips and lower back. Lisa did a great job of balancing her time so all of my trouble areas got the therapy they needed. This felt like a perfect experience. I will definitely ask for Lisa next time I am here for treatment! read more

Cloud 9 Spa is my absolute favorite local business that provides a great customer service and deliver a true valuable spa experience to their customers. Belen, Daniella and Elizabeth are the best receptionists who have been super helpful in scheduling me with my last minute appointments. They are friendly, helpful, and polite. There has been always a happy smile on their face when i got checked in or out of the spa. Thank you Belen, Daniella, and Elizabeth! Barry and Fred are my current favorite masseuses. If you have tight neck, shoulders and back, they will relieve all the tension. I like strong hands so if you can stand the serious pressure relieving your knots, I will recommend you to fill out the chart and indicate your level of pressure! I also recommend the foot massage by Barry and Fred! They both know what they are doing! Bravos to Barry and Fred who have helped me to have a relaxed and happy body. Cloud 9 spa is the true local gem. This place cares about their clients! I have been here almost 11 years, and I have not felt displeased or disappointed. Highly recommend! read more

We recently booked for massages, again. The lady at the reception desk was very helpful and professional at getting us to our requested masseuse. The service we had was just VERY relaxing. The ambiance was most peaceful. We will enjoy this experience again, soon. Thank you Cloud 9. Cheers. read more

We camp in Half Moon Bay often and somehow never noticed Cloud 9 Foot Spa sitting right off the busy road, but I'm so glad we finally did. I booked an appointment on a whim, which I rarely do because massages often feel disappointing and not worth the money for me. I'm really glad I was wrong!!!!! I was able to get in right away, and the woman at the front desk was warm and friendly, making the whole check-in process easy. I chose the 30/30 combo (30-minute foot massage plus 30-minute body massage), and the session took place in a calm common room that was quiet, comfortable, and much more relaxing than you'd expect given the busy road outside. The space was clean, comfortable, and felt very welcoming. Tom was absolutely fantastic. When he checked in about pressure and I told him he could go deeper, he delivered genuinely excellent deep tissue work on my neck, shoulders, and back. I was honestly amazed at how skilled he was and how much relief I felt by the end of the session. The whole experience was relaxing, effective, and felt like truly good value. Cloud 9 is now going to be a regular stop for us whenever we're visiting Half Moon Bay, and I will specifically request Tom every time. read more

This place has the most horrendous customer service experience I've ever received in my life, and I've worked at a spa before. This is going to be detailed. When you walk in, if you come in after sundown, you have to walk down a long dimly lit pathway outside to enter. Inside, you'll find Elizabeth - probably the most argumentative and pushy front desk person I've ever encountered at a spa, raising her voice to talk to clients on the phone and I'll get to how she treated me later. My massage therapist was 10 minutes late to the start time and I arrived early, she had her AirPods in and couldn't hear me say anything and just kept repeating "sorry, 7:15" when my appointment was scheduled for 7:30 pm. I have had a horrible and stressful week and all I wanted to do was unwind and relax. Just wait for the rest. She led me through the main room which had people laying down for their massages completely not separated from each other and I had to walk even further to a room I was in, which was divided by thin draping and no door. You could hear every single ding from the microwave, every alarm on a phone, everyone talking basically three feet away from where you're laying in a compromising and undressed position. Absolutely ZERO privacy. Linda was HORRIBLE!!! Due to her having the AirPods in, she couldn't hear me when I said I was ready for the massage and I waited almost 10 unnecessary entire minutes for her to come back; the hallway was completely silent and I was just laying there. The massage therapist decided she would ignore all of my requests, and I expressly asked her not to massage my calves. She massaged them anyway and I almost had to move my leg quickly out of the way for her to stop. She clearly didn't understand a thing I was saying. She dropped oil, and I'm not joking, down the crack of my butt (I know) and took liberty upon herself to put her fingers inside a towel and wipe it. I really should've stopped it there but she kept insisting that she would continue and am I ok am I ok. I have a hard time being firm with strangers who are providing me a service, but she kept massaging areas that I told her were painful. Some guy outside the draping said "OH FUCK!" And he was quickly shushed, and I just had enough. I told her I didn't want to turn around, and then she put her fingers on the back of my scalp and dug into it, preventing me from moving, and massaged so hard that I still have a headache two hours later - she pinned me. Not only that, when she was done, I tried to get up and I was so dizzy I could barely stand and I was practically begging for her to leave me alone. She then got a massive soap bottle size of hand sanitizer and tried to put it on my arm, where I pointed to my tattoo and said loudly "NO. NEW TATTOO." Which I already told her before. It was like she was on drugs. When I was done, I was gaslit by the receptionist that none of what I was saying was true, that I was wrong and misunderstanding the entire situation and I stayed for the whole massage so I was responsible. I COULDNT MOVE BECAUSE MY HEAD WAS PINNED TO THE TABLE. I explained to her what happened and she denied every single thing I was saying. When I mentioned that I work in insurance and I've seen the spa on my client list before, she became incredibly aggressive and accused me of threatening her. All I was saying is that I was aware of the liability policies they have to protect clients, and I didn't have to sign a waiver. That's the biggest deal. No waiver. I just had to sign for my credit card, which they still charged a deposit and every single text reminder said BRING CASH! BRING CASH! It was so irritating. Anyways, i left with a pounding headache and feeling nauseated, when all I wanted was a decent massage and a good nights sleep. Avoid this place - it needs to be shut down, and fast. These people are scam artists. read more

Just had a Swedish massage session with Cindy. Loved it! Don't be too spooked by the exterior. Inside is perfectly lovely and relaxing !

This is my second review of this place. I've been there several times now and my experience keeps getting better and better each time. Hands-down the best massage today! The ambience is not spectacular but the massage and the cost of the massage make up for it! read more

I have been going to cloud 9 foot spa for quite a few years. The massage therapists are out of this world. They are very focused on catering to each individuals needs and insuring that everyone gets the best possible results. The atmosphere is relaxing and the personal are warm and inviting. Cloud 9 in Half Moon Bay hires the best and strongest massage therapists - anywhere. I've even been to Thailand and had someone walking on my back in the style they are known for and it was a forgettable massage in terms of pressure and deep tissue relief. If you don't like strong massages (particularly on your feet), this is not the place for you and those of us who love it, don't want you to go here and ruin it for those of us who do need strong pressure because you can get a wimpy massage anywhere but you cannot get this kind of skillful pressure anywhere that I can find. I want to praise Alice in particular. My sister's husband recommended her to me as a therapist who can give a strong massage. He and my sister had massages together at Cloud 9 the day before I went and I'm so thankful he told me about Alice. For me, it was the perfect massage in every way and I had booked 90 minutes. I look forward to going back and asking for Alice though I'm on danger of her being fully booked perpetually now that I've given you all this priceless information but Alice deserves all the public praise. I was so grateful for her skills and her efforts and I made sure to reflect my gratitude in my tipping but also by posting this review of what a great job she does. You can't give a great massage if you don't put your heart into it so it is obvious to me that Alice puts her heart into her work. May God bless you, Alice! read more

The outside doesn't look good but inside it's beautiful, clean and serene. Both Jenny and Amy were very good. One of the best massages we've ever had and the price was very reasonable. I would definitely come here again next time I visit HMB. read more

Amazing! Highly recommend. They really care about your areas of pain and try to give you relief. Amy was incredible.

Went in for an hour body and foot massage for $60. I really wasn't expecting much because of the price and that there wasn't individual rooms but it was really great. I almost fell asleep during the foot massage. Very relaxing. The body massage was nice too. It didn't feel like they were beating up my body but instead it felt they were stretching it out. I was skeptical because I had injured my upper back exercising a few days earlier but the massage did it wonders. I highly recommend! Wasn't a big deal for me but it might for others- you keep your clothes on because it is a shared space but they use oil so don't wear any clothes that care may get ruined. read more

I love this local gem. It's not fancy, but it is clean, approachable, and affordable. It has become a regular part of our health and self care. I book a 90 minute massage with Alice 2x/month. She is well trained and knowledgeable in her kraft. She gives an amazing massage! We have also had several 60 minute couples massages with Alice and Amy. We always request them when we book. And I've gone in for 30 minute foot massages with my girlfriends after gathering for lunch and a beach walk on the coast. Super fun! I've seen several comments here of people complaining about tipping. But their pricing is low and the therapist work hard and provide a good service. I'm happy to tip generously. I visit a lot of spas when we are traveling. They all automatically add 20% tip on top of their already elevated fees. So Cloud 9 is a real bargain even with your generous tips. read more

Love Cloud 9 Half Moon Bay ! I've been a Long time client...! I have my favorites: Cindy , Fred , Linda. A 30 minute foot massage was just what I needed. Don't let the prices deter you, they are much lower than your average spa. A thirty minute foot massage is $35.00, great price for the Bay Area. Thru their online booking system select from their spa menu the type of massage and prepay if you would like, tips are cash only. Parking is free and I always find a spot. Appointment times are punctual, quiet soothing massage room, tables are separated by curtains. I have been a client for years, nice to have an affordable spa close to home. read more

Took my mom out for a 70th birthday mini vacation to Half Moon Bay. I asked her what she wanted to do, and she said the only thing she wanted to do is get a foot massage. The first thing I thought was yikes, I bet there are no 'foot massage' parlors here and I will have to spend and arm and a leg (possibly an ear) to do a massage at the Ritz. Lo and behold, I found this place. Booking online was easy (have to create an account), and if you have 3+ people, as we did, you need to pay for one of the services up front, which was fine. I know how people cancel all the time, so they are just making sure they are paid for the time they reserved for your service. The place is easy to find, and there is a standalone lot; parking is easy. Upon entry, there is a small reception area, and we were greeted by a lovely young lady whose name I forgot...Samantha....Stephanie? Shout out to her as she was very friendly. Our masseuses were Linda and Cindy (forgot the 3rd person's name). All did a great job. BTW, this place is HUGE! We came on a Tuesday, but my guess is they get pretty booked on the weekends bc this place had like 4-5 rooms and 10+ beds in each room. I liked that it was clean, staff was very nice and they all had hands of gold. BTW - if you are not familiar with a 'foot massage' it's actually a full body massage with your clothes on, in a communal room. If you prefer a real massage, they do offer it for a little more. Also, although they have a sign on how to tip, I tipped even more bc technically, I am basing my tip off what I WOULD'VE spent at an American spa. I tipped $25 for my 90-min massage which was $70 to begin with. Sure, that's a high percentage, but given I prob would've paid $60 for tip at an American place, $25 didn't sound bad at all. Was well worth every penny. Would definitely come back here again. read more

Been coming here for years. Had my first session with Linda. Therefore worth an updated review! I typically see James or Cindy. First time with Linda. She's one of the first LMT that really changed the focus of what she was doing based on my initial ask. My shoulders and arms were super tight and I needed a reset. I asked for level 10 pressure and a focus on my left shoulder / arm. Linda delivered. I'm very tolderant to pressure and Linda didn't dissapoint. Also, she changed the distribution of the hour to focus on my needs. I'll be going to Linda again! read more

I booked a massage for myself and my mom yesterday. I currently am partially handicapped and they were extremely accommodating and understanding of what I needed done. Upon entering, the two ladies at reception were nice upon greeting and helped make sure our reservation was correct. The atmosphere from the moment you step in was not only inviting and clean, but calming as well. Cindy was professional and worked on the areas I needed most. She was great and I will definitely be booking with her again. My mom had James, she said he was professional, understanding and courteous of her issues with her shoulder and he did a great job in working out the "boulders" (knots) in her shoulders. We will definitely be returning. read more

My wife have been going here for years even though they are 1.5 hours away. The therapists do a great job. We were surprised however that they were requiring a deposit when we booked our most recent appointment. We understood this practice though, but we're very surprised when they charged our credit card for the full amount before arriving as we had planned to utiluze the balance on a gift certificate instead. Other than that, still good service. read more

First visit here was amazing, thanks to Amy! I was feel so tense I finally caved to getting a massage. As id never been I called to obtain information regarding the differences in massages and how everything worked. The receptionist Melissa is great, informative and professional and kind. I walked out feeling like I got years of relief off my back. Amy followed all my knots down my back and I am now pain free. I will definitely return to Amy more regularly. Pricing as very fair $65 for an hour deep tissue massage. I highly recommend this spa. read more

My wife got me a 60 minute massage here as a Father's Day gift. I left after 20 minutes. James clearly didn't know what he was doing, at all. Worst massage I've ever had. This guy could permanently mess up somebody's body... thank god I left when I did. I hope the discomfort I'm feeling in my knees, where I've never before had any pain or problems subsides in a few days. Couldn't give him instructions to stop because he doesn't speak English. Perhaps other people there give better massages, but after this experience I wouldn't trust anyone there to do anything other than a foot massage. And please don't offer me a discount for a second chance or a refund... this is not about money. This is about a lack of competence. read more
