My wife and I liked coming to this spa once a month however this week their communication was very disappointing. We called yesterday to see if we could make an appointment for later that day. Understandably they didn't have any availabilities but we came in person to make an appointment for a later date, today @ 5:30 PM. I put down my information and confirmed by appointment details with their booking system. Today we came in around 10 minutes early and check in like normal. Then 5:30 PM comes around and one of the ladies comes out and asks us if we can come back at 6:10 instead because the last person came in late for their appointment and no one is available. So they took in a late show appointment and now have to delay all subsequent appointments because they acquiesced to someone with poor time management. Took my mom and grandma here a couple of days ago to get a foot massage, we got the 30 mins, which includes about 5 mins of head/neck/shoulder massage, then the rest is foot/leg massage. we all liked the massage, we all left feeling relaxed. I am a massage therapist of 23 years and I try to avoid places like this but everyone else was booked and I try to keep an open mind because sometimes it's amazing. This was not amazing or even relaxing. I had asked for a Swedish massage with hot stones and basically got neither. She worked on my back for well over half the massage simply repeating the same exact strokes over and over at the same pace and depth which was both too fast and too hard. She did finish the back portion with a nice but short hot stone routine and then the stones were never to be experienced again. (Not even close to worth the $20 add on) My arms and legs and head were tossed. Every touch was aggressive which I know some people like and ask for but I specifically don't and didn't. I know how it feels to be a burnt out therapist. It sucks. And I know how it feels to be worked on by someone who is burnt out. It SUCKS! All being said I simply can't tip under 20% and she was standing right behind me as I paid so I turned around to hand her a cash tip which she snatched out of my hand and walked away. Not good at all, went in for a Swedish massage after I spoke to the front desk agent. My masseuse understood no English, and was trying to translate through a phone application. When trying to tell my masseuse to be more gentle she kept it the same pressure, I now am in pain and have to take Advil. Plus got charged an extra $10 because the masseuse did a deep tissue?! I honestly have to say this was the strangest massage I have ever had. I have had massages from around the world. I arrive a a couple of minutes early and was told to wait in the lobby. The first thing I noticed is an ATM machine in the lobby. A woman comes out to get me. I have no idea who she was. I was told to follow her back. I walk past a row of beds in the hallway with what appears to be foot massages going on. I go into a small private room and the woman points to the bed and leaves. I disrobe and hang my clothes on the back of the door and lay down. Many minutes go by and no one comes. Finally, she enters again and starts my massage. No conversation, no asking what I needed, what areas to focus on, etc. She didn't appear to understand much English. I asked her not to touch me in certain areas as I was extremely uncomfortable with her touch and manner. She kept on. She left the room a couple of times without telling me why. I could not tell who came back in as she draped my head with a towel and I was face down. I was not relaxed at the end of the hour. I went to pay and was told $2 charge to use a card which I believe is illegal in CA. I paid and rushed out and will NEVER be back. read more

Update: Took the whole family here for Mother's Day (five people). Two of them were in private rooms and three of us in semi private with curtains. We were fifteen minutes late due to insane traffic and they still took us. Experience was very nice. Sometimes there were customers who came in who were talking loudly but they were quickly hushed up by the staff. I appreciated that. My boyfriend liked it so much I could hear him sighing with relief very often. This is my fourth time here and quality is still very good. I was nervous about everyone in my family liking the massage but even the pickiest of them liked it and said they would come back in a couple of weeks and they were very gentle (they had Jenny, who I LOVE.) and they even helped some of my older family put their clothes back on because they have trouble with such activities. I am grateful for the very good service. A+ I am very happy that Tony and his staff went above and beyond to give us luxury service. This is now the massage place for my whole family as well as me. Day two of our Mom-cation in HMB my trio of gal pals stumbled into this "spa" after lunching next door. We were pleasantly surprised that they were able to accommodate all 3 of us for hour long half foot/half full body massages with no wait! For $60?!?! Sign us up!!! I was expecting a foot massage/chair massage combo, fully clothed etc. given the strip mall/nail salon set up of the location. We knew something was amiss when foot massages ended with toe pulling and a lot of calf-slapping. Once they finished the feet were each escorted to our own rooms (where the head of the massage table was protected by paper towels) after being directed to strip down we were each subjected to our own unique tortures. So. Much. Pressure. (And no adjustment when you say ouch-or scream out in pain) So.Much.Percussion. (Like karate chopping, or some serious BDSM foreplay) So.Much.Grab-Ass. (Like seriously, I love a good amount of attention to my glutes-but grabbing handfuls of cheek is not helpful!) We left not quite sure what we had just voluntarily handed over our money for, and seriously questioning whether we had just been jumped in to a underground gang. After a call to my therapist and a few rounds of drinks, I came to terms with the violation I had experienced-but all three of us were still feeling the pain these "massage therapists" inflicted 2 days later. read more

They have very limited staff on-site and I have to share a masseuse with a family member. While it was fine since I didn't make an appointment ahead of time but the worst is they stepped out in the middle of your massage to pick up the phone. That's your money and time they are NOT spending on you and they don't make up the loss time. Cleanliness is also questionable. Most places that I have gone to use a disposable garbage bag to place over the tub of water that they soak your feet in. However I didn't feel the lining of the bag when soaking my feet and I couldn't tell since they asked you to lay down and now my feet felt itchy. read more

She asked where I was in pain and paid special attention to my shoulders . It did not feel at all rushed and I think she even went overtime . Massage was a 7/10 When I was paying they charged an extra $2 to run my card so I only tipped $5, and the lady goes "we recommend tipping $10 at least" as much as I agree that tipping is important, I paid nearly 15% Just due to that I won't recommend this place to anyone, customer service is important and I'd rather not have a face made at me for not tipping $10 during a pandemic when I actually needed a massage. I had THE best massage of my life by Lucas today. He had such a perfect feel for what I needed... Located in a busy shopping center between Verizon and a taqueria, this shop could be easy to miss but what a find! Cindy gave me the best 90 min massage I've ever had on the coast and I've tried them all. Only $95 for a 90 min massage that included cupping and ended with hot stones. Usually, if it's an asian massage spa, the quality of the massage is really hit or miss. I've had the $25.00 foot massage that includes the body, and also the $40+ in-room massage. Generally, they feel exactly the same except my wallet is less full after. We decided to try the FULL BODY massage out for $55.00. I was very hesitant but ended up being pleasantly surprised. The quality was above average for a foot spa. They man who worked on my back did a very good job and I felt 100% rejuvenated. Also, I asked if we could do a couple's massage for an hour and they opened the double door between two rooms so it created one large room. My fiance said the woman he had was very powerful and worked out several knots. Totally worth it. We tipped $20 each. The only issue was, they really tried to sell the cupping technique. Like, the woman would literally not stop asking if we wanted it throughout the massage after we clearly said "next time". read more

This review is a combination of my and my gf's massages. First me, I give the place and my massage therapist Jing all 5 STARS! The place itself has a nice vibe, and we each got our own personal massage room. Jing was amazing and very skilled! She asked to check if the pressure was okay. She started out with hard pressure which I like so I didn't need to have her adjust. She didn't talk much which I also liked. I was able to fully focus on the massage and fully relax. The stone massage towards the end was also a great finishing touch. Now, on to my gf's massage, she gave it 3 STARS not because of the place but because of her massage therapist, who's name I will not mention for courtesy. My gf said she talked almost the whole time so she wasn't able to fully enjoy the massage. Not only did she talk most of the time, but what she talked about was complaining about her life, and the overall negative tone of her conversation added to my gf's lack of enjoyment and relaxation, which was unfortunate. Came in to make an appointment, the front desk can't speak English!!! Kept asking him, which therapist is the best for deep tissue, and his reply is all good!!!!! I am deep tissue specialist, so I'm extremely picky, and as most people who love deep tissue, it's a hit and miss, to find a good deep tissue, is a rare find! I really hate bad service like that!
