Clothes Mentor is my go-to place when I'm looking for shoes (or boots), a name brand purse, or pretty much any item of ladies' clothing. This store has fed my somewhat recent love affair with high heels. Every time I go here, I check out what they have in my size. It has also been my source for quality purses. I am a Coach fan and bought my first Coach purse here for about $40. It was cloth. I then graduated to leather and got my next purse for less than $100. Then I had to have a matching wallet - $40. Recently I've been looking for boots. I struck out but only because I was looking for something very specific. I'll be checking out other Clothes Mentor stores in the area. Clothes Mentor does has a good frequent shopper program where you earn discounts with each purchase - as you spend more you save more. They also frequently run deals. Yesterday if you donated to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank, you got 20% off your purchase. If memory serves me right, as we get close to Christmas they will run 12 days of deals. Like a certain % off a type of clothing each day. Clothes Mentor has quality used clothing at fair prices. They have a small clearance section and run great deals when they are closing out a season's line. I definitely recommend this store to ladies who want decent clothes without paying retail prices! read more

The customer service is terrible but the looks and the stares that my daughter and granddaughters got were price less ! I will never go back . I came in and just got looked at then when one of the ladies looked at me and "I" smiled then I got a hi ... then another lady walks in 5 minutes after us she gets a warm welcome ... the older lady with the glasses just looked also no hello or welcome . I refuse to spend any money in a business that can watch me but not speak to me ... so your loss of what could have been a nice school Shopping experience! read more

while it does have nice things the customer service is lacking. people with funky attitudes shouldn't work there. also they could have simply told me the would not accept any of my stuff cause by the time I got home they sent me a text saying to return in 24 hrs then at store claimed my items were not what people were looking for. things that could have been told to me while I was there!!! wont be shopping there at all. read more

Customer service seems great by the smiles and greetings but after 2 hours there, the girl put back everything I had picked out and couldn't say where it was, even tho she had asked me 4 different occasions "are you keeping this stuff". Never apologized, just looked at me blankly, with a smile, when I said I just spent 2 hours picking this stuff out and now you have no idea where it is?? Then with the couple things I had in my hand, I went to pay and she said "will there be anything else today", with a smile like a robot as if she was just seeing me for the first time. I said no, she can't find all of the stuff I picked out and nobody has even said I'm sorry" (which she was totally aware of) she sd ohhh and kept ringing. I said even still... you can't even say a simple "I'm sorry". I felt like I was in the twilight zone!! Very disappointed with the entire place. I brought in several name brand items with tags and they didn't take any of it. Also brought in a pair of Nikes that have been worn once, and are still selling on the website for over $70. They offered $11 for in store credit or $9 for cash .... they also threw away the box for the shoes that I brought them and said "well someone should have told you, we don't take boxes." Will not be back, and do not recommend. read more

My friend and I stopped at this Clothes Mentor on a roadtrip just for fun and I couldn't believe the selection available. This is by far the biggest Clothes Mentor I have ever been in. None of the stores in my local area are as big as this store is. The music was popping as we made our way up and down the aisles. I grabbed way too many items to take into the dressing room and ended up leaving with most of them. The staff was friendly and helpful without interrupting while I shopped. As I was checking out someone came in to treat the staff to donuts because of some good deed one of them did. I thought that was so kind and made me feel even better about spending my money at this store. read more

Don't bother. Apparently corporate doesn't want them putting out signs that they aren't co-signing that day so you have to show up, carry your stuff in?and speak to an associate instead. I was going in to sell my clothes, and they were completely rude. I have never seen such horrible customer service. Janice was the one helping us and I finally took my stuff and told her I am leaving. A customer should never be treated that way. Unfortunately I spot a Fake Louis Vuitton bag being sold there. This is the absolutely worst nightmare for a person like me who buys pre-loved luxury bags. I was suprise by the prices at their stores for upscale designers but It seems like the authentication department needs training. Here I am posting the picture of the bag offered that was fake. I hadn't been to the Gahanna Clothes Mentor since it moved and decided to stop in today while I was in the area. Unfortunately, I had a negative experience shopping in this store and cannot recommend it for your selling or buying needs. They are 4 days behind with sorting through clothing to buy, with potential buying items sitting in baskets strewn across the front of the store. Anyone could easily dip into these baskets and bags, making selling valuable items at this location risky. Since I did not personally come in with items to sell, I can't speak anymore to the selling experience here. I did shop in this store for about 25 min and during this time, I heard store associates talking negatively about customers, which is the main driving factor for this 1 star review. I found their conduct and discussions to be inappropriate and wondered what they would say about me after I left. I also found the store difficult to shop, with the racks messy and unorganized overall. However, I'll say that their selection of clothing is extensive and their pricing is competitive and not too high! But overall, I cannot recommend visiting. I'm disappointed to have to provide such a negative review for a Clothes Mentor store, as I love all of the other locations in the area! read more

Horrible experience. I dropped off professional blazers and other 'work' clothes for their evaluation. At the time, they told me they were weeks behind in going through other customers' proposed buys. There were piles of bags under clothing racks to reflect this. I left my clothes there in a personalized LL Bean bucket bag. Hearing nothing about the status of my clothes for several weeks, I called the store and learned they DONATED my personal bag and ALL clothes without EVER NOTIFYING ME. I explained that I NEVER received a text 'passing' on my goods. They asked me to come into the store to discuss the matter and "compensation." When I arrived at the store, I was told that I was "not the first" to report having received no text from Clothes Mentor prior to the store putting my clothes out for donation. I asked - where are the clothes donated? They had no idea, therefore no way for me to find my personalized bag or expensive work clothes they passed on. The customer service team made me feel like I did something wrong, when it is clear there is an error in their system in which texts DO NOT ACTUALLY GO to customers to notify them of the status of their items. I was told nothing could be done, except try calling corporate (614 791 0000). I called the corporate number and was fielded to the voicemail of the district manager. I left two detailed voicemails for her, without ever receiving a call back. I asked for an email address at corporate to explain my situation and was told no such email exists for customers to use! This was a few weeks ago. I am so upset and disappointed by this experience. Clothes mentor - this is about transaction # B-294284. I am hopeful this situation can still be resolved. This used to be my go to for the occasional closet clean out. Payout was good and you walked out with cash or a check. Over time, the payouts have decreased. They started giving a debit card. Then they further reduced your payout unless you take store credit. Most recently I was offered $60 for a bin full of new clothes with tags and designer purses. If you have the time, I recommend just selling yourself. Or donate to someone in need. The warm and fuzzies are going to be more valuable than the absurd payout you'll be offered. read more

I have shopped here a few times, and the lady working most times with glasses, shorter hair is snooty; glares at you, doesn't greet you, and speaks in a condescending tone at the cash register. This particular visit, this lady me looked me up and down when I walked up to the counter, and spoke to me like a child - didn't even speak in complete sentences. "Need your ID" and "Sign" and "Text you when it's done" I brought nearly brand new, brand name items to sell, including a leather jacket that retails for $200+ and is a current style, and some items from Banana Republic and Anthropologie. They texted me within 5 minutes of drop-off to say it was done. I came back to be told that none of my items were in style and to "try Plato's Closet." Yikes! I took my items to a competitor down the road, and they bought almost every single item from me. It seems this particular staff member decided the moment I walked in that she didn't want to buy my items. This Mean Girls attitude needs a major improvement! It's such a nice shop, so a shame it is spoiled by snooty staff. read more

This location is Not one of the best of the Clothes Mentor stores. Took way too long to sell clothes, however they did purchase most of my things. This location wasn't as nicely organized and done items were priced higher than the original price when purchased new. Another issue that kept me from buying several blouses and one dress was that the security tag was punched in the delicate fabric which after removing makes a hole that gets bigger when washed. This store could use some rearranging of the merchandise and better display of items. The other stores seem to have it together a little better. Someone should visit to get done ideas. read more

I am very disappointed by this store. I stopped in to sell some bags, and I spotted a fake Louis Vuitton kimono. I told the lady working that the bag was not real and she hot a major attitude and started to get angry. She said she called the LV store and they authenticated it. That is a complete lie. LV will never authenticate a bag. The bag looked cheap and the date code was wrong. The bag said it was made at the end of 2016, and we are at the start. The bag was also priced at $3200! I hope the realize that it is illegal to sell fakes, and they could get a hefty fine. I called and asked if the district manager could call me, and she never did. Be very careful buying designer items from there. The handles are not standing up like and authentic and the stamp on the front is completely wrong color and font. This is a decent place to shop for clothes. I've gotten a few coats & boots there that I really like for extremely low prices. To sell there is a different story. I would not recommend selling anything you actually want to make any money on. I'm a fashion blogger so I have way too many clothes! I sell things sometimes just because Ive only work them once or my closet is just overflowing & I have learned this is not a place to sell to for a few reasons. 1. They give you like 1/20 of what you paid for it (even if it's new, still in style & in good condition) & 2. The people that determine what they take & don't take aren't very stylish themselves. I'm not sure how you can tell what's in & what's stylish if you don't have good style yourself. For these two reasons I'll stay way from selling here & stick to just shopping. read more

If you are going in to sell something, please take a look at who is working. If a older lady is there, she is overly picky that it's not worth selling anything. I hate goin to clothes mentor now, they now have mask police. I had pull my mask away from my face to better talk with someone cause they couldn't hear me and a mask police ran down the aisle to scold me on pulling up my mask. Another lady in the store who was elderly pulled down her mask down because she was so hot and couldn't breathe and a sales associate ran over to scream at her. I think this is too extreme, especially if your not sick and everyone else has a mask on and is protected by there own mask, what's the point of harassing and yelling at customers. I can see why now when I go to any clothes mentor the store is quite VERY FEW CUSTOMERS in the store. Clothes mentor are the only stores that do this, you can still shop in Plato's closet in peace for now. read more

Every time I go in the ladies are so nice! I always find something nice. I have sold a few items and have been satisfied with the payout. The manager explained the process and I understand that it's a business, besides I'm selling because I don't use it. Overall I like how the customer service has improved over the last few months. This place is ok for buying stuff but when you try to sell stuff it's impossible it seems. I brought in clothes that were in great shape of brands Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren Polo, Vinyard Vines, etc and they wouldn't even buy it. This is a very nice, new store. It seems a little bigger than the one in Westerville, and it has a very nice layout, great selection, and was very well organized. They maybe should have put in a few more dressing rooms, though, because there were a lot of people waiting for a while on a busy Saturday. read more

Awful experience. First, the woman working told me it would take 45 mins to look through my items and i would receive a text message when it was done. I never received confirmation and had to return 4 hours later. My items were all name brands (juicy, free people, unif, all saints, urban outfitters, ect) I didnt expect to get a ton of money back but i did bring in 3 full bags of very gently used items that were on trend, in season and great shape. She ended up choosing only 4-5 items and offered me a few dollars for each. Absolutely a huge waste of time. read more

I called ahead to see what they were taking and if I needed an appointment, I was told they were taking pretty much everything except summer and I could drop it off or stay and it would take about an hour to go thru and get a quote. I was also told things "had" to be freshly laundered, neatly folded without wrinkles and in a clothes basket. I got there a week later and was told they were several hours behind and were bombed so I left them and came the next day, but I did notice several trash bags on the shelves where people had brought their items in those. The drop off process: while she took my drivers license and had me sign a ticket (and printed a ticket to tape to each basket), I was never given a receipt or ticket for the number of items I dropped off or anything to claim MY things. I think some people would worry about this. The pick up: they had asked me for my cell and email, so I received a text letting me know they had finished processing my clothes, which was great, but I also received spam :( I was shown a basket and told they were offering me $30. They didn't tell me how many items they were buying, which they were buying or make any suggestions. As the cashier processed the payment I looked thru the box and discovered about 5 items. Not a bad price. However, when I got back to my house I realized they'd pawed thru my items and unfolded things and just threw them back in the basket so they were all wrinkled and must be re-laundered to be dropped off at Good Will or taken to another second hand store :( I also noticed a tag on the basket with a giant "PASS" on it, which listed the reasons they weren't taking the items: too well loved, too old, older brands. None of this is true. All of the items I took in were barely worn, no holes, stains or buttons missing, and mostly Lane Bryant, Maurices jeans, and a few Sears/ JCPenney brands thrown in. In fact, the only items they took were the ones I was talked into including because I originally thought they were too casual and old. Ultimately, my selling experience sucked and I think better business practices may be in order. As for the store itself, I looked thru the racks and found everything out of order and nothing was in the right size locations. I also found nearly everything to be bland: black, gray, blue and white, very unfashionable in its' traditional-ness. This store's merchandise is nothing like other Mentor locations pictures on Yelp. I also found most items to be overpriced--a Ralph Lauren semi-silky blouse was $45. Other items, ie. Levis and Macy's or Sears brand shirts, were usually around $15-$25. I've been told by my second-hand shopping friends that this is a bit high, and considering the styles of things I'd have to agree. As for the designer bags, if you're ignorant enough to buy a bag for hundreds of dollars from a non-certified seller you deserve to be ripped--they had a lot of designer bags, mostly Coach and Kate Spade, these too seemed old & traditional in style, and they were far too expensive in my opinion to be sold second hand without certificates. read more

Major change in payout process. If it's more than $100 you get a cash card which is a total ripoff. You can't cash it in and the bank will charge service fees if you don't use it. Also after bringing in all name brand clothing they pass on items that are better than what they have hanging on the racks. It's ridiculous. Even if the item is new you'll barely get a fraction of the price. Not sure it's worth it and it took over 3 hours for them to decide. Never again. read more

DONT DO IT!! DONT GO HERE. Not worth the time if you're selling. An entire laundry basket full of clothes and the lady with short hair and glasses offered $4 for a men's button up. I asked why she didn't take the Carlos Santana heels and she said minor wear damage. I asked her to show me the wear (I have never worn them) and she couldn't point out any wear on them. Needless to say, I didn't take their $4. Someone else in need could use it more than their cheapskate money. Never going again read more
